Thank you so much. I'll Google the passport application process and address. iykmon: You need to get the baby birth certificate first at Vital record and the baby SSN at the social security administration office . But the SSN card will be delivered to your address.
This are the two most important documents you need to apply for passport. If your husband is there with you, both of must appear for the baby passport application. |

You don't need fit to fly on air France. It is clearly stated on their website. I flew at 34weeks and no questions were asked. isysleek: Thank God for you. Please I'm also using Air France. Did you get fit to fly from your doctor in Nigeria to show to the airline? Also does Air France have a format for fit to fly? Thank you. |

So I arrived Atlanta Poe January ending with hubby and toddler at 34 weeks pregnant.
Questions directed at hubby:
How long do you plan on staying? For about a week but wife and child will stay 3months.
What do you do for a living? Hubby tells him.
What does your wife do? Does she work. Yes and he tells him where I work.
He says to me, put your fingers here for prints. Stamps us in.
Nothing more was asked. I had been so prepared to show him my 10k dollars, medical info and all but nothing.
Entry was a breeze. Thank God |

Thank you. KennyMKO: Good evening, just like Ruthina000 tried to point out there is really nothing bad in trying birth center. They try to simulate a normal home environment and all, and people have successfully used them for birthing. They also have experienced midwives, ultrasound scanning machines and other tools for ante natal purposes. The downside is that they are not as sophisticated and equipped as a hospital. Which means in case of any complications during birthing, you will have to be rushed to the nearest hospital which they usually have agreements with. Talking from experience actually, used the center in 2013. And they are not all that cheap either. Paid $4100 in 2013 and that amount could have easily been used at WHMC. It's all about options weighing. Another downside is refusal because of birth center. So Madriel please weigh your options well before making decision. I apologize to Ruthina000 on behalf of Sparkle. Let's not castigate one another for giving one's opinion please. No one knows it all. And people learn from the diverse opinions and suggestions. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. |

Sorry about that. Ruthina000: Hi Madriel, I have answered your question , others have also done same. You can make your decision. I never knew answering questions here could make someone insult one unjustly. Really, I don't understand. I feel everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, you don't need to insult anyone. You can imagine sparkle1515 calling someone clueless....... I mean, as it gotten to that? Anyway, I hope you've made your findings.... |

Thanks for your replies this far. To clarify my question;
I already have a valid visa. I got it at a time when I was not pregnant. I actually want to do the water birth and it's only available at birth centers. Has anyone had their baby at a birth centre? What do I expect at Poe? I plan to pay ahead of time. |

Madriel: @Chiowerri
I did. I and family were delayed and questioned for over an hour. Went to Texas instead of new York as stated at visa interview. Missed our connecting flight and given tickets back to naija. Took a while to convince them we are straight up people. We were finally let in I did. I and family were delayed and questioned for over an hour. Hello all, At my us interview, I was asked if going to give birth, my answer was no because I wasn't pregnant. I visited and returned as planned. Now I'm pregnant and want to go give birth on same visa. What should I expect?
Thanks |
