You can use the asylum as something to support your claim. But not accommodation, health facilities, and job availability, because visitors visa holders does not benefit from any of that. Regardless if you have a strong profile getting a visit visa is still very easy.

For example:

Older people are less likely to seek asylum. We have seen parents visit visa getting approved in weeks.

Married people with kids and responsibilities are less likely to seek asylum.

People with good and real verifiable employment are less likely to seek asylum.

People with Business and properties worth millions are less likely to seek asylum.

* When you are desperate to leave your country ircc will know.

You will start submitting unnecessary documents, start drawing your family tree. Lol. Merging suspicious bank statements with unexplainable lump sum.

Imagine you claim you earn 400k per month and you submitted bank statements of 6 month with no monthly deposit of 400k from a company. These ppl are not fool.

* How many rich ppl do you see that pray for visa miracle? ALL YOU NEED ARE GOOD DOCUMENTS AND PROFILE. not Miracle or luck.

Let's be logical in our reasoning with facts: Canada is capping student visas due to concerns about pressure on accommodation, health facilities, and job availability. Many Canadian even residents are complaining, and it seems unlikely that the issuance of visitor visas will continue in large numbers. This is especially true considering the majority of arrivals are claiming asylum. Some provincial governments have already expressed concerns about the costs incurred in housing asylum seekers, turning it into a political issue.and many here think the liberal want to lose election due to immigration as the conservative are already blaming the govt for the problems ..l guess many people here do not know the politics of the west..the approval rate will drop drastically this year!

My wife applied for visit visa. Am like 80% sure of success. My study visa got approved in under 2 weeks. DIY.

Not everybody is single or have no kids.
Not everybody lacks proper financial documentation.
Not everybody lacks better employment as home ties
Not everybody is fixing or manipulating bank statements or landed property.

Get some sense.

l no argue with you but your tourist visa chance is still 10 to 90 currently in this 2024 even you apply with document from heaven o ...so pls no sell ur property so incase you get refused ..you can move on with ur life and please relax ur tension so you no develop high blood pressure ontop tourist visa, you always online refreshing ircc page

Because in your post you also made mention on the cap on student. OJC group is not only for students. You might say majority are study related, not all. And the cap on study visa wont have any effect on visitors visa. They are capping study visa because of the partway to pr, and scam programs by institutions.

i think you need know different between student and visitor visa ....OJC group is stickily for student visa information and student visa application is different from visitor visa processing

If you say maybe 90% of people going to canada on a visitor visa 5 to 7 years ago return back to nigeria and dont overstay their visit, might be true. Recently maybe from 2022 and especially now, over 90% of Nigerians going to canada on a visitors visa, especially people age 35 and below has NO intention of returning back. Its evident on the numbers of nigerian seeking asylum currently in canada. Even Nigerian student in canada are seeking asylum. Just leave story.

Please brace yourselves. Most of us here on this forum are visitors/tourists who visit regularly on holidays or programmes and return to Nigeria afterwards. True or not, the Canada visa issuance  has slowed down lately.

I have seen over 15 approval just this year. But all are study visa. So its not the holiday

For those applicants whose application has exceeded the normal processing time of 115 days for applications submitted in Nigeria, this might be because of the holiday season.

Decision notices might start to drop in mid-January.

Lol; to do masters now for canada; you need about 40m. 15m no go even do for pof and tuition for 1 yr diploma.

On tracker,background check in progress,while eligibility hasn't started yet.
The wait is tiring
It has even exceeded the processing time.

Goodmornig everyone. I am a visitor applicant to Canada. By my calculations now(weekends excluded), it been 3months since my application,and yet to get a decision. Though I used an agent,but we have been communicating and very accessible,no doubts about him. The conference I am to attend is over,what are my chances? Why the delay? Is it due to many applicants? It's been 4 month my spouse apply for a visitors visa and biometric completed. Infact its 118 day now after her biometric was updated to completed. I think there must be an increase in visitors visa application; or maybe they are prioritizing other visas categories like study visa.

Make sure you get your calculations right before applying oo.
I saw "Business" cost about 34k for the entire 2yrs.

if you can give them almost exact SOA you used for app. you ppr is certain. they have doubts on your SOA, and want to be sure its not for demonstration purpose. i have seen it happen before.

I have seen post here of people who submitted on may got medical request and even some gotten ppr I did mine application feb and medical same feb 22 last message I got was a updated SOA Then complete silence like the Ircc just like messing with people and I submitted everything they should just let me know if they approve or deny instead of just keeping. you just need to apply for another 1 year program, to get 3 years pgwp. and you can apply from inside canada.
