I was inside the banking hall of a first generation bank when CNN breaking news flashed DONALD TRUMP ELECTED PRESIDENT. I was shocked. I never thought he could defeat Hillary. A banker shook her head, “This is disaster. America’s gone crazy.” I said to her, “the world just improved on his craziness. We Nigerians voted change and we do not seem sane. UK voted Brexit.” The banker agreed. I live in a country that has given me little and seems unclear of what she wants from me. I am a citizen of a country whose economy breathes on the availability of dollars. As I walked down the busy Awolowo Road, I thought of the implication of Trump’s victory on young Nigerians. Should the leader of the USA determine our fortunes? America was tired of the ‘normal’ politician, so she voted an absolute abnormal, that’s America’s problem. Yet, it feels like Voldemort just won, and third world war is a strong possibility. Yes, it is possible. Donald Trump is America’s next President. Donald Trump is a crazy guy. Check history, Hitler existed. If a third world war is not a worry for young Nigerians, please rethink. A little mistake from a world leader could trigger a coalition of terrorist to fight the world (terrorism is likely to take the place of anti-Semitism as reasons for invasions). Donald Trump does not seem like a man that has patience for diplomacy. If a war comes, what will Nigeria do? A friend told me he was no longer interested in obtaining American visa. I asked why and he wondered if I had not heard that Donald Trump won. “I have,” I replied. “Then you should know about his views on immigration.” I did not know much. I had little interest in the American election until he won. I was one of those people who thought Republicans had given a wealthy and spoilt clown a chance to waste his money. I was wrong. With Donald Trump coming to power, Nigerians can expect tougher visa application to the USA. Now the people at the American embassy can flex their muscles more and happily stamp ‘denied’ on visa applications. Getting to America just got interestingly harder. Meanwhile Nigerians in America worry that they may not get their visa extended. The man does not want Mexicans and Nigerians who have taken Americans’ jobs. America is a very charitable country but my best friend disagrees, he believes their aid has never stemmed from altruism but a gain to retain the status of Big Brother to Africa and the world. For him, China and Russia are better for Africa. Under Donald Trump, African leaders should forget invitation to the White House unless America has something to gain from their country economically. Beware! Our leaders may foolishly sell Africa to Trump’s America, right under our noses. Maybe, it is an exaggerated thought, but he is not interested in funding Africa’s problems. If we go by the words of Campaigner Donald Trump, Africa should forget the funding of her poverty. He will only do business with African countries that can contribute to making America great again, (are they not great already?). America might also return to isolationism. New questions will come up. How much does Boko Haram affect US national security? Does Niger Delta bombing affect America’s economy? Will he care if Nigerians die because change is not working? Donald Trump, ceteris paribus, will enter the White House as its new chief tenant in January. Based on his campaign, he will be more of an American President and less of a ‘world’ President. Meanwhile… I am still in Nigeria; the popular song is still change while the status quo remains. for more educative articles visit: www.megasblog.com

Nigeria has always had justice keepers who make it their sole responsibility of dealing with errant citizens. Their sole targets are thieves and I say kudos to the justice keepers for a job well done. I remember the first time I ever saw their handiwork; I was shocked to the bone marrows. I still recoil whenever I remember what I saw. Barely two years later these justice keepers were at work at Aluu and they did a perfect job as they upheld the law. Today, I was confronted with another instance of the justice keepers doing a perfect job of riding the society of law breakers. This time, it wasn’t some students from Aluu, rather it was a boy of seven years old. A boy accused of stealing cassava flakes. A boy who could have easily been their son, their brother, their son’s friend, a potential lawyer, a potential Nobel Prize winner, a boy who could have discovered the cure for cancer, or HIV, the next Mark Zuckerberg. But of course there is no reasoning with the Justice Keepers, as they have never stolen and as such they can cast the first stone. They have never been found wanting and alas Justice is blind and therefore they could be without compassion and torture a 7 year old kid. They did not stop at that though. They burnt the poor boy to death. Serves him right they probably said, maybe when he reincarnates he won’t attempt stealing cassava flakes. Meanwhile these justice keepers hail the likes of one senate president like that, a minister of transport and other big men who would never condescend to stealing cassava flakes, no, why should they? The legislooters are spared as long as they share rice and oil this coming Christmas. I don’t think am being sarcastic again. I am just weary of living in a country of savages, of animals, of people who are half witted, apologies to no one. If a 7 year old kid could steal cassava flakes, is it right to burn him to death? Countless people have been burnt to death on the whims and caprices of hypocrites, who cannot create or give life. If you are incapable of giving life, how dare you take life? I guess my mum should have burnt me times without number for reaching into her pot of soup for some pieces of meat. As for our legislators and senators, its time a bill is passed into law prohibiting jungle justice with charges of murder and manslaughter brought against perpetrators and also I believe people who can witness these dastardly acts and stand by doing nothing should not go unpunished. Also the police are culpable and as such should be mandated on ensuring prosecution of anybody handed over them to by civilians after a thorough and diligent investigation has been carried out. Update: Reports state the victim is not a 7 year old kid but rather a notorious criminal. However this does not change the fact that jungle justice is wrong and offenders should be punished because we are humans and are supposed to be civilized. See our hypocrisy staring us hard in the face and yet we fail to see it. Why would I say that some of you might ask, well I say it because that is the sad truth about us Nigerians. I will explain by a few examples below. Let me start with the US elections. A lot of us stayed awake overnight to get the results of the US elections hoping that Hilary Clinton would win. We even had pastors making prophesies about how God revealed to them the outcome of the elections. With Trump declared winner, most of us started complaining. While some of us turned it all into a huge joke. The hypocrisy here however is how we have taken panadol for the headache of Americans. We fail to face our issues within the country and become a world power, yet we are lamenting over the decisions of citizens of a truly free and developed country. Also some of us have taken to defending the prophets who made a wrong prophesy. Now why would we do that? We failed to take away the good things about an election devoid of stomach infrastructure, devoid of votes being sold, of an election where all the processes run smoothly and where there are no under aged voters. Rather than ask questions of our leaders and ensure we get answers, we prefer to spend time on Instagram following the likes of Davido, Bobrisky etc, when we could follow Budgit and know more about governance. Rather than ask our senators why there is a sharia law bill being examined by the Senate, we are cool with watching Arole entertain us. Rather than question why a VAT on data, calls and SMS is being introduced, we are busy corporately begging celebrities for money. Indeed it is a shame how our hypocrisy is staring us hard in the face and we prefer to occupy ourselves with calling out the speck in our neighbors eyes. For your information the US is approximately 10,642 KM, and we the youths have so busied ourselves with their affairs leaving our own affairs to ruins. Another example is from a video I watched on Facebook of Patrick Lumumba during a seminar titled “The role of the legislature in the fight against corruption in Nigeria“, organized by the anti-corruption committees of the Senate and House of Representatives in Abuja. The seminar is a laudable step towards understanding and fighting corruption in Nigeria and Africa at large, however, the organizers are progenitors of corruption. If you have not seen the video then you have to. The facial expressions of dignitaries who graced the occasion said all you need to know about the two faced fight against corruption in Nigeria. Indeed the priceless look on the face of Mr Vice President says it all. Now to the youths who themselves are the future of the country, you need to look no further than yourselves to see how your hypocrisy will eventually ruin this nation if care is not taken. A visit to nairaland will tell you all you need to know about the psyche of Nigerian youths. I want to believe in this conspiracy theory that the reason of our education sector in Nigeria being in shambles is because the rich and the ruling class want us to either be brain dead or basically not to know our rights and not to realize the potential of a united front against their control of power. This is why graduates are divided on ethnic grounds, religious beliefs and sentiments. This is why instead of logical discourse, graduates and youths engage in name calling, insults and tribal standings. Worrisome is the fact that this present generation knows not their history but know all the lyrics to Wizkid’s latest hit. Am not a pessimist, but I believe that we as a people, a country have misplaced priorities and this is why the country might not get any better. At-least not until we face up to our hypocrisy and rid ourselves of the garment of filth the enemy has decided to adorn us with. And the enemy is we, the enemy is our hypocrisy which sees us criticize embezzlers of our commonwealth in secret and hail them in public to receive crumbs that fall off their tables. The enemy is the shameless men and women; youths included who go off to protest against perceived witch hunting of people who have fed fat off our national cake. The enemy is us who fail to see our hypocrisy staring us hard in the face. http://megasblog.com/2016/11/13/see-hypocrisy-staring-us-hard-face/ |
goaldynboy:Lols you're confused mister, so he rapes you or you missed the right word to use, if you read the article properly and digest it, then you will see that the article actually pointed at what's wrong with you as well. It's still the same poor masses, we all voted the political office holders with our own fingers, some because of the little naira they got, some voted because they thought they are the savior. |
Any law that allows criminals to ride on national security is a bad law, any legal instrument that does not protect national security agencies and ordinary persons on the street is a law that should be jettisoned, and any court pronouncement that would go to no issue with no effect whatsoever if it violates common sense and would encourage the majority of the citizens to believe in jungle justice rather than the social and judicial justice since it would remain a mere pronouncement! Laws are made for men, not the other way round. How can one explain the position of Nigerian criminal law that punishes stealing of any property with value above #1,000.00 with 7 years imprisonment while stealing of billions of naira from public treasury is punished with two years imprisonment under the ICPC and EFCC? Why are they prosecuting the corrupt government officials and political office holders under the ICPC and EFCC rather than the Criminal Code/ Penal Code Act that provides for heavier punishment? Stealing is simply put, conversion of properties, things capable of being stolen fraudulently with the intention of permanently denying the owner(s) the use of it. I believe stealing from the public treasury should be specially and seriously punished. We should have a law that protects the public treasury from being looted with impunity… Something in the nature of Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act,which would punish looting of public treasury with life sentence and make it a capital offense where the looting is capable of depriving the citizens access to education, hospital, water, food and security, or has the potential to lead to death of any person…. Creating a special court to try corruption cases and bring specially trained and tested judges to the Court, look for good and experienced trusted prosecuting lawyers and take very good care of them… This is because the present sham being undertaken by the present government on its fight against corruption will go nowhere. A very good example is the handling of the Dasuki saga. Interesting Dasuki sued the FG to the Ecowas court “a far more efficient judicial system” and he won. This is not to say that Dasuki isn’t corrupt but rather that the agencies charged with fighting corruption are going about it the wrong way and have so far bungled a lot of cases they could have easily won. The good they could have done is been destroyed by their modus operandi. Why is it so difficult to prosecute corrupt politicians and government officials? My friend, Bayo Olorunmeke, opined the reason is simply a matter of morality among thieves, a criminally minded official still in service will find it very difficult to diligently prosecute an exposed corrupt official believing he would be protected by the system if he is eventually caught! The honour among thieves, chickens ordinarily do not eat chickens’ intestines… And the society itself appears to shield looters simply because these looters share same tribe or ethnicity with them. This is a wrong sentiment because looting of the Commonwealth by a select few deprives the society and it’s future of necessary social amenities. It’s effect a ripple along generations and it’s consequence dire. http://megasblog.com/2016/10/10/laws-encourage-looting-public-treasury-nigeria/ |
THE biggest of Nigerian problems is not corruption, no, not even leadership and sawdust-brained leaders, mono-economy, lack of planning or religion fanaticism, not insurgency nor educational system that made job seekers out of every young person that passes through the educational system, no, our major problem in Nigeria is irresponsible, docile, unthinking, cheap money loving, selfish and complacent masses. The first time I saw mass protest was 1983 in Akure, who were the ‘weres’ on the street protesting? The Poor masses! The masses were attacking anything government property and everything that has the resemblance of public ownership was destroyed and damaged. But the matter was settled in the court of law eventually, not on the Street, not by the masses. The same trend runs through the blood of Nigerian students of higher institutions; why must we destroy government property because we are angry with a government policy? I have seen students in Europe protest, they never destroy properties on the campus but occupy the properties, Arabian students will rather march peacefully, the worst they will do is to burn America’s (the USA) flag, even the burning will not be done where it or in a way that it will have permanent effects on any property, landed or otherwise. In Nigeria, the masses will vote for a man because he has the deepest pocket and biggest spender in an election not for the contents of his head. Sometimes, we vote because the candidate is “my person”. Awolowo gave Africa her first Television and Radio stations before Spain and Portugal could think of anything like Television and Radio Stations, yet the masses supported and allowed a person that did not know how to operate a television set rule them for almost five years. It is the Nigerian masses that rig elections, cover up for looters, protest because of money given to them by someone who they may not know. It is the Nigerian masses who do not complain because of principles but food, Nigerians masses will shout “no, we no go gree” because somebody else is saying that, Nigerian masses will talk about what they don’t know as if they know it and Nigerians will call white black, while the masses will call the victim of a crime the criminal and the offender a hero… just because of ‘peanut change’. Sad enough, the difference between the educated masses (so called) and the illiterate poor masses is illusive and unreal. How can any right thinking individual say, just because he is hungry and because there is hunger in the land: “bring back our corruption” and some lawyers, doctors, bankers, engineers, planners, men of gods and sane people will chorus by crying “yessssssssssssss ooooooooo”? We don’t know what we want in Nigeria, we the masses do not know what we want for Nigeria, that is our problem! http://megasblog.com/2016/10/19/bring-back-our-corruption/ |
While the drama unfolds before our eyes, we will keenly observe while asking what to do. What are we observing? Is it the 21 Chibok girls who have been released? No, our attention is diverted elsewhere. Is it on the DSS and its raid on “corrupt” judges? While we have an eye on that, we are captivated by another event unfolding. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the “vox populi” simply because all we as a people can do is watch the drama unfold, our focus, the power play in Aso Rock and the interview granted by the First Lady Aisha Buhari. A lot of us already know what the first lady said with a pointed accusation about certain elements surrounding her husband who have consolidated power and are thus a power to themselves. Upon hearing that attempts were made to stop the BBC from airing the interview, our interest was piqued and as such we await the coming days with abated breaths hoping to know what was said and why it was said. The controversy the interview has generated and the response it elicited from Mr. President belies the extent of the myriad of problems facing the country. However, we ask now, who knows the husband better than his wife? In the aftermath of her “outburst” will she be finally relegated from being the President’s wife? Are we going to see the first divorce in the history of the first family of Nigeria? Of course all our postulations are mere speculations and we will do well not to attempt to be “sensational”. We however will say what is “held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.” This can however happen in a society that cherishes justice and upholds the rule of law. http://megasblog.com/2016/10/19/aisha-buhari-drama-unfolds-eyes/ |
There is a Country, only if….. May 29th 1999 appeared to be the day Nigeria stepped into the Promised Land. After witnessing the reign of a despot and his death, the people had misgivings about his successor, in the person of Abdulsalam Abubakar. He however surprised Nigerians and the world by declaring his intentions to hand over power to a civilian government by 1999 and actually handing over power. The rest they say is history. 17 years later, we are still basking in the euphoria of democracy. However, we are no better off than we were 17 years ago. With the economy in recession, corruption a norm, agitations for indepence by certain elements in the south east and south region of the country, terrorism, religious crises and a deluge of problems we constantly face in the country, we have to ask ourselves how we got it all wrong. Certainly I have blamed the present administration for some of the problems we face but that is a cowardly act, hence my decision to ask key questions such as “Where did it all go wrong?” and “Why is my country sliding more and more into being a failed state”. A tough question and some might castigate me for the derogatory comment but I am being factual. I am patriotic to my country but that doesn’t mean I turn a blind eye to events as they unfold or that I fail to state the truth. The answers to my questions are not farfetched. On the 5th of May 1999, a constitution was adopted which would be known as the 1999 constitution. This constitution was to serve as the bedrock and the foundation for a new dawn of democracy in the country. So far, it has been an albatross and our undoing. The tenet of this constitution since its adoption has served to enslave the masses and enrich the pockets of heartless and visionless politicians. No wonder these least intelligent and heartless political class only seek to line their pockets with the sweet inner linings of the fruit bore by democracy and leave us fighting over the bitter hard back. The 1999 constitution was adopted on the premise of hope, but its interpretation by the political class has made it a thorn in our flesh. For instance, the bicameral legislature it offers has proven to be a needless and expensive venture. The senate has been filled with so called senators who are all about the sitting allowance, constituency allocations and juicy committees, while their counterparts in the House of Representatives busy themselves with the Honourable task of “padding”… oops….. Did I just say that? My bad. Meanwhile the constitution provides for a federal system of government, but our federalism shames the true definition of federalism, alas we practice a quasi-federalism. The federal unit is more powerful than other units, rendering the state and local government units weak and impotent, with States and local governments now rely on “federal allocations” and worse is the fact that these weaker units are headed by witless individuals. I guess the most annoying part is how the constitution fails to give us a right to say how we want to be governed. Indeed it is sad that there is no provision within the constitution for a referendum. Meaning the government is at will to take certain decisions or actions without recourse to the citizens. This is just plain dictatorial and why we are where we are today. If Mr. President is keen on change, then our constitution should be changed. True federalism must be implemented, abolishment of the bi-cameral legislature, referendum and more changes must be implemented. All I crave is that referendums become a key part of our constitution and a “recall clause” as well should be provisioned for in the constitution so we can recall certain individuals hell bent on running this country aground…. There is a country but only if we want it. By : GUY FAWKES http://megasblog.com/2016/08/24/there-is-a-country-only-if/

Qui Si Convien Lasciare Ogni Sospetto Ogni Vitta´ Convien Che Qui Sia Morta Here Must All Distrust Be Left All Cowardice Must Here Be Dead For today I was going to focus on the government and start from where I stopped last time, but an incidence made me have a rethink and forego the government bashing for now. My grouse today is the citizenry and its perception. Some might wonder why I am tackling this particular issue today. Well, the state of our nation shows that values have eroded, we celebrate mediocrity, worship nepotism and are quick to assault ourselves in regards to our tribes. We are worse than slave masters and we manifest the highest form of racism against ourselves. We segregate ourselves further on religion and bully ourselves online, on the streets and at every given opportunity. Remarks like “afonja, Yoruba, Igbo, biafrauds, gworo chewing etc” have become so common place that we fling these words around carelessly without a thought of what impact these words might have. Annoying is the fact that even the educated amongst us are slowly being dragged into this, wherefore are we then headed as a nation? As a country? And as a people? I digress a lot I fear, however there is just so much to say and apparently little time or space to do this. I was on Nairaland today and stumbled on a thread about Donald Trump insulting Nigeria. I read all through the article and a smile creased my face when I read the closing remarks which is “LAST LINE: WHAT IF TELL YOU THE ABOVE IS AN IMAGINED OUTBURST FROM TRUMP? IT. ACTUALLY, IS.” I decided to read through the comments and was appalled by what I saw. Insults were being thrown around, first at the perceived enemy Trump, then against each poster depending on the tribe you are from. Are we so descended low that we lack an iota of sense to understand that first the article was intended as a satire to reflect the sad state of affairs in the country. Why then are we so quick to not comprehend but to resort to insulting a perceived enemy “though one must say Trump might have been a tad too forward in certain statements’ and then turning on ourselves!!!. Its sad where we find ourselves but education which should ensure the learned are able to comprehend and reflect accordingly has so far not proved a saving grace maybe because the education sector is “rubbish”. As for the government and a certain Army HQ, remember we are a democracy……….. WRITTEN BY : GUY FAWKES http://megasblog.com/2016/08/18/the-nigeria-i-know-a-chronicles-day-2/

Importation is the act, business, process of importing goods or services from a foreign country and here is how to start an importation business. How the importation business works: Importation business mostly involves buying and selling and the bottom line is to always make money. You buy something like wrist-watches, phones, necklaces etc. at a low price with the aim of selling at a higher price to make considerable profit. Usually there are two options involved to increase your profit namely you can either find a way/place to buy your items at a cheaper price or look for customers to buy at higher price. In summary, buy low, sell high. Change your mentality on importation as follows: 1.Importation do not involve huge paperwork which could be a nightmare. 2.You do not require a huge amount of money to start importation as you can start with small money. 3.You don’t have to go to Asia, United States of America or China in person as it’s easier to import online and even cheaper as well. 4.Imported goods are not craps or cheap Chinese junks. China supply items to the United States of America and it is whatever you want them to produce for you that they’ll do. What you need to get started: To join the ever-growing population of men and women who deals with the business of importation, you will need the following 1.A computer or mobile phone with constant access to the internet. 2.Valid e-mail address 3.Valid residential/home address so that the items you requested can be shipped to you. 4.Small capital Here are some importation tips for you, you might possibly need them: Start small, involves smaller risks. Work out the logistics through the small shipments Build a relationship with a clearing and forwarding agent. Learn the regulations and also ask some questions You would be held accountable for the actions of your clearing and forwarding agent as well. Before you get started on shopping/ordering your products, provide answers to the following eight questions. 1. Where to buy from? You must find out which sites sell products at low wholesale prices so you can benefit from it. Sites such as Aliexpress.com, DHgate.com, ipmart.com etc. To start shopping and placing you orders on any of the aforementioned sites, you need to sign up to become a registered member. To sign up/register is not a big deal at all, all you need to do is click on the ‘Join free’ or ‘Register’ link at the top left/right corner of the home page, you will be transferred to a registration page to complete a short form. The short form requires only your name, valid e-mail address and password. In the alternative, you can sign up using your facebook account. Afterwards, you can start making your orders. 2.Payment Formerly it was almost impossible to import from manufacturers/suppliers abroad due to the long and complex payment process involving a Letter of Credit or Bank Guarantee from the bank. That Era is however out of the way now, presently you can do a simple bank transfer or use your debit/credit card meaning you can employ the use of your regular ATMs to pay for the goods you have ordered. 3.Getting Scammed? Make sure all the sites you deal with have some form of ‘buyer protection’ mechanism built into the payment process similar to ‘escrow’ in international trade business. The way it works is easy, instead of paying the seller directly, the sites withhold your payment until you have confirmed the products you ordered are not fake/damaged. 4.Finding quality products and Sellers African businesses are susceptible to low quality products due to the lack of strict quality and safety standards like the ones buyers in Europe and America enjoy thus the need to find quality products. Feedback ratings can help you gauge sellers’ reputations on the various shopping sites. If the seller always deliver as promised, he/she will get positive feedbacks from customers but if reverse is the case, customers will be happy to pass their negative comments. click the link to Read more on how to make the money: http://megasblog.com/2016/08/15/how-to-start-an-importation-business/

Qui Si Convien Lasciare Ogni Sospetto Ogni Vitta´ Convien Che Qui Sia Morta Here Must All Distrust Be Left All Cowardice Must Here Be Dead The Nigeria I know and have always known has characteristics similar to that of total chaos. Things just never seem to work and any sign of normalcy is viewed by many as a sign of craziness. Described as once having the world’s happiest set of citizens, happiness just does not cut it in Nigeria. You have to be competitive and street-wise in order to survive in this country that is seen by many as a Failed State. This notion is unfortunately shared by certain Nigerians. To them, Nigeria is an experiment by the British which ought to have gone the way of similar experiments e.g India and Pakistan. But having survived a civil war in which it is estimated that over a million lives were lost and properties worth billions destroyed, no-one seemed eager to jump the cart and set in motion, the events that will spark the flames of another civil war or a possible break-up. Hence, both Nigerians and the International community watched with trepidation, the year 2015. Will the predictions of the intelligence agencies from America come true? Will the entity Nigeria eventually break up? And most importantly, what impact such an event will have on Africa, especially the sub-saharan region? And rightly so, as both economical and political structures within this region would be affected, especially in the case of a crisis. Fortunately, am not inclined to discussing the future, as I believe that decisions and actions taken now will shape the future and therefore, what better way to create and shape the future I want for Nigeria than through this medium? This is why I want to have an insight of the Nigeria I have lived in so far, to understand her dialectics, ponder on her base and superstructure and how these affect the society in terms of political economy, etc. This is why I write on the Nigeria I know. The above article was written in 2012, and events so far have taken a different dimension. First the year is 2016, Second, Nigerians took to the polls to elect a man regarded as an incorrupt as leader, and since his coming into power, revelations abound about a scale of corruption so mind boggling that Former British Prime Minister David Cameron described Nigeria as filled with fantastically corrupt people. Sigh….. Is he right? Yes he is!!!, however the complicity of his country is called into the fore, but this is a discourse for another day. More pressing issues of State troll my mind and saddens me. The economy is in ruin through the ‘ineptitude and trial by error” approach adopted by the government. It is unbelievable the price of a bag of rice, or a bag of Irish potatoes. Electronics cost more, petrol is at an all time high, and insecurity has worsened. All within a space of a year. And what is worse is the tendency of present government officials to blame the past administration. In an interview with BBC Hardtalk, “Super Minister” Raji Fashola adopted the same stance, neglecting the failures of the government he is a part of. Prof. Pat Utomi aptly stated that this present government has failed to communicate its intentions properly. This is what Fashola would have done but alas the Super Minister engaged in denial and the blame game. I choose at this point to not blame but to suggest to this present administration the way forward. The FG should communicate effectively with its citizenry, and accept feedback. Understanding that the government holds the will of the people and are accountable to the people will ensure that the government is a step ahead anticipating its citizenry’s needs. Plan and implement accordingly. The government can take a cue from the private sector in this regard. There is no doubt there will be bottlenecks but planning ahead mitigates the effects. The FG needs to look beyond agriculture, and explore other forms of resources. Technology, health, tourism are a few to mention. And frankly, I doubt the FG can plan in this global age with a majority of the caliber of people the President surrounds himself with. Deadwoods like Lai Mohammed, Solomon Dalung, Dr Chris Ngige, Dr kayode Fayemi, etc basically have nothing to offer. Get rid of them Mr. President and get dynamic minds who know what they are doing. Ensure implementation of all projects. Looking beyond mineral resources and tapping the massive intellectual resources abound this country should be the government’s focus. Here I stop and reflect, the Chronicles will be back. Written by GUY FAWKES Read more at http://megasblog.com/2016/08/14/the-nigeria-i-know-a-chronicle-day-one/

For a house filled with Honourables, their conduct has been nothing short of dishonourable. Last year, when this House was first inaugurated, there was hope that the caliber of members and their new leaders would set a new trail. That the mistakes of the past would be corrected and that hope and indeed change has come. While this piece might appear to be scathing, it is written on the sole purpose to address the issue of honor and truth and these attributes have so far been lacking from the House of Assembly. From the very first day the House commenced business, it has witnessed various issues ranging from a fight for the leadership, a missing budget, sex scandal and now budget padding. Let us make no mistakes about the gravity of each of these issues. These issues portray a confused and corrupt entity, and from an institution that is meant to produce laws, to serve an oversight over the excesses of the Executive arm of government and most importantly represent each and every individual from all nooks and cranny of the country. I must say that our Honourables have brought shame to us. Their actions and countenance appears to mirror the very worst in us to the outside world and in this digital age, shame appears to not be a word in their dictionary. The Speaker has been most affected by the budget padding controversy and his reactions so far has brought criticism from most well meaning Nigerians. Claiming that budget padding is not a crime is laughable. Alright, let’s assume that since he is charged with creating laws, and budget padding is not a crime “yet”, defending his alleged involvement is a slap on the face of all citizens of this country. An alleged non crime with intent to commit crime is totally unacceptable and we would expect that a high ranking official of the legislative arm of governance would find it difficult to defend what is “undefendable”, albeit the Speaker himself. 2019 is just around the corner for us to correct certain mistakes, till then let’s hope our Honourables will start doing the honourable thing most especially Mr. Speaker who can take a cue from David Cameron. Money can’t buy one of the most important things you need to promote your business: relationships. How do customer relationships drive your business? It’s all about finding people who believe in your products or services. And when it comes to tracking these people down, you have two choices. You can do all the legwork yourself and spend a lot of money on marketing. But that’s rolling a boulder up the hill. You want to drive your business into new territory, but every step is hard and expensive. There’s another less painful-and potentially more profitable way- You can create an army to help you push that boulder up the hill instead. How do you do that? You develop relationships with people who don’t just understand your particular expertise, product or service, but who are excited and buzzing about what you do. You stay connected with them and give them value, and they’ll touch other people who can benefit your business. All you need is a plan to make those connections/relationships grow and work for you. It’s a mantra hammered into the heads of anyone who has ever owned a business, worked in a service industry or stepped foot in the world of sales: “The customer is always right.” Beyond simply placating customers, however, the modern take on this tried-and-true saying has evolved into what some refer to as “relationship marketing”, or the act of building connections, rapport and personal relationships with customers. Today, customer relationship management (CRM) is an increasingly important aspect of running a business – and a successful strategy is an extremely useful tool for almost any business model. A business is only as good as the customers it serves, and no business gets far after losing the customers it has. The key to success is building relationships that go beyond one-time projects and provide value to these customers on a consistent, ongoing basis. As a business owner/entrepreneur, the most important thing in sales and marketing is to attract and retain your most profitable business customers. To achieve this feat, you must devise and implement a customer strategy that builds, fosters, nurtures and extends relationships with your customers. Your company profits only when the earnings from retained customers exceed the cost to acquire and to service customers over time. There is a strong correlation between long-term business success and long-term customer relationships. Successful businesses capitalize on every stage of the customer life cycle – from customer selection, to customer acquisition, customer retention and customer growth. Once a certain level of trust and comfort has been established, most customers prefer to remain loyal to companies and their products. Here are a few tips you can use to: http://megasblog.com/2016/08/grow-through-relationships/

Singer 2face Idibia is undoubtedly a legend in the Entertainment Industry not only in Nigeria but also in Africa. The 40-year old Benue-born entertainer basically re-invented the industry with his solo debut album ‘Face 2 Face’ in 2004 to set himself on the way to attaining his current legendary status. Narrowing it down to the world of pop, 2face is still a legend however the debate on whether his celebrity status has waned with the emergence of new and vibrant pop acts on the music scene has surfaced in the last few years. With the ‘Face 2 Face’ Album twelve years ago, 2face Idibia became an instant A-list celebrity and reigned as the one and only before the likes of Dbanj, Psquare and 9ice years later. Though he has suffered numerous hiccups along the way, 2face is regarded as and is still an elder statesman in the music industry despite the emergence of younger acts like Wizkid and Davido. Those opposed to pro-2face would argue that the advent of the new boys has affected the celebrity status of Annie Idibia’s husband, a position pro-2face followers are totally against. What we should consider now is that 2face, who rebranded his name to 2baba, has grown and moved past the ‘buzz and trendy’ demographic and his fans are from the 30 and above range now. This situation however does not mean he is not relevant. There is hardly any household in Nigeria that does not know about 2face and his wife Annie Idibia. He has reached a celebrity status level and would be difficult for his star to wane whether there is regular buzz around him or not. His recent visit to the Campari house situated on the outskirts of Milan all but cements the fact 2face Idibia is a legend in Nigeria and Africa at large. Nigerian artist Anidugbe Oluwatobiloba Daniel popularly known as Kiss Daniel is arguably the fastest rising star in the Nigerian music industry. The “Woju” crooner has delighted fans and critics alike with his recent work “Jombo” whose video has garnered over 400,000 views on Youtube within a short period of time. For an artist who has been mired in age controversy and an accusation that he lacks stage presence, Kiss Daniel has worked hard to prove his critics wrong and will certainly be pleased with the reception of his debut studio album “New Era”. Questions however linger as to if Kiss Daniel will be able to reach and transcend the heights of Wizkid who is growing in leaps and bound presently and is seen as Africa’s biggest pop star in recent times in some quarters. There is every tendency that Kiss Daniel might go the way of various artistes who have seen a decline in terms of popularity and acceptance such as Blackface, Faze, Weird MC and a host of others, but there is also a probability that Kiss Daniel will do Nigeria proud. So far, his songs have been a hit, wit “Woju”,”Mama” and “Jombo” still bringing people to their feets, Kiss Daniel needs however to go deeper, find himself, create an identity, a form exclusive to him. A mistake lots of artists in Nigeria have made has been to create only hit songs which eventually fade away, but legends within the industry were more concerned with their identity, their art. Within the years, they were able to hone their art and made it synonymous with their personality. Lagbaja, Tuface, King Sunnny Ade, Asa stayed true to their art, and refused to be swayed with the prospects of just making hit songs and gaining temporary fame. This is why Kiss Daniel has it all to do, so as not to fall a victim of his present success and start building his legacy. For a humble young man (a lot of us who have seen his prank video must have realized that by now), the Sky for Kiss Daniel is just his starting point, the Universe his limit. “I love my sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I’m awake, you know? – Ernest Hemingway Most of us don’t get enough sleep. We are a society that burns the candle at both ends from stress related factors as we stay up all night to study, work, or to relieve stress by having fun. Otherwise, like most we live by the myths about our sleep. Myths and Facts about our sleep 1 – Getting just one hour less sleep per night will not affect your daytime functioning. The fact about our sleep is that not getting the enough or right amount of sleep may carry an end-result of life-long consequences. For instance, losing one hour of sleep can affect our ability to think and respond properly and quickly. It also compromises the function of our heart, energy balance, and ability to fight of infections. 2 – Our body adjusts quickly to different sleep schedules. While this may have some truth, the fact is that most of us can reset our biological clock, but only by appropriately timed cues and it can take more than a week to adjust when we travel across many time zone or switching shifts from day to night. 3 – Extra sleep at night can cure our problems with excessive daytime fatigue. The quantity of sleep is important, but the quality is what matters most that we really have to pay attention to. Some of us may sleep 8 to 9 hours, but the quality of our sleep may be poor. 4 – We can make up for the lost sleep during the week by sleeping more on the weekends. This can sure relieve part of a sleep debt, but is not necessarily so for it affects our sleep-wake cycle, in which it makes it much harder to go to sleep at the right time on Sunday nights and get up early on Monday mornings. Why Sleep Health is important? Sleep is a critical determinant of our health and well-being as much as proper nutrition and exercise. Poor sleep health influences our patterns of behavior that negatively affects family and interpersonal relationships, decreased health –related quality of life, in addition to reduction in day to day productivity and efficiency, increase chances of errors and accidents such as operating a motor vehicle. Proper adequate deep sleep is necessary to fight off infection, work effectively and safely, perform well in school, and prevent the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes. Signs of sleep deprivation if you.. Needing an alarm clock to wake up on time Relying on the snooze button Having a hard time getting out of bed in the morning Feeling sluggish in the afternoon Getting sleepy in meetings or lectures Getting drowsy after heavy meals or when driving Needing to nap through the day Falling asleep while watching TV Feeling the need to sleep in on the weekends Falling asleep within five minutes of going to bed Getting the sleep that you need Stress, shift work, and age-related sleep disturbances are some of many factors that interfere with our ability to obtain our needed sufficient sleep. Overcoming these factors that interfere with our sleep and identifying our sleep difficulties are just a few things that can derive us towards the proper sleep that we all need by making behavioral changes such as to our sleep/wake schedule, avoiding caffeine late in the day, and limiting exposure to light at bedtime. How much sleep do we really need? In the National Health Institute, the average sleep needs of an average adult have been less than 7 hours per night. Six hours of sleep may seem enough and seems like a good amount, but in reality an extra hour or two would be an ideal amount to function optimally or at our best. Consequences of Insufficient Sleep Competition between sleep schedules, employment and lifestyle is one of everyone’s challenging trends in this day in age. Intermittent sleep disturbances due to lifestyle choices are associated with temporary fatigue, disorientation, and decreased alertness. In addition, a lack of sleep can affect our judgment, mood, ability to learn and retain information; and, increase risk of serious accidents and injury. Chronic sleep deprivation may lead to most of our present health problems (e.g., obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes) and even death. side_effects_from_missing_sleep Factors to poor and inadequate sleep: Being woken during the night Working night shifts or swing shifts Smoking or drinking in the evening Exposure to artificial electronics devices (e.g., TVs, computer, and mobile phones) So, for achieving better rest and health is to stick to a regular sleep-wake schedule, even on weekends. Avoid screens (TV, phone, computer, tablets) within 2 hours of your bedtime. Ensure your bedroom is dark, cool, and quiet. Curtains and fans can help. The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the arrest to media said the suspect was arrested on Sunday, with the assistance of his church members. The suspect had been on the run since police and officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, burst into his church on Friday to rescue the victim, Korede. One of my kid brothers asked me whether I still believe in Buhari as the hope of Nigeria, I said capital ‘NO’, he smiled and said; ‘EGBON sebi I told you then that Jonathan was better than Buhari…’ I smiled! Buhari no doubt is not the magician or the avatar I expected. I have listened to Buhari addressing public issues, he is a little better than Jonathan, comparatively, no doubt! After all Jonathan, a PhD holder, did not know that ‘stealing of public fund was corruption’. How can you tell me you are serious about changing things around when u keep doing things the way PDP was doing it? How do you want to explain to my father in Arigidi that Buhari is better than Jonathan when during Jonathan food items were cheaper, NEPA was more regular and cheaper, fuel was cheaper, house rent cheaper and salaries were coming regularly? The appointments so far has shown that Buhari is prosecuting the northern agenda just like Jonathan was sacrificing other segments of the nation for the south south and south east. (I am not an ethnocentric person, my friends will testify to that). The Fulani herdsmen are killing and behaving as if they own the nation, Buhari is not doing anything about that. I beg, Nigeria needs someone better than Buhari, let the search for the avatar continues, not in the APC nor in the PDP, they are birds of the shame feathers… http://megasblog.com/2016/07/let-the-search-for-nigerias-avatar-begin/ Nb. Want to hear matured contributions and kindly pardon the written comprehension english, would rather have transcribe it in a native tribal language for easier comprehending but that will be sectional so kindly bear with the writer as long as you comprehend the message within. Bad leadership only gives birth to corruption. How can you punish corruption so lightly and want it to go away? In Asian and Arabians countries, stealing from public treasury is a capital offence punishable with death. In Europe and America, corruption is severely punished. But in Nigeria, no matter what you steal from public fund, your punishment can’t be more than two years imprisonment! In corruption cases, everywhere except in Nigeria, the proof of the fact that you have asses to the public treasury and you have wealth beyond your earnings from the public service is enough to send you to condemnation, except you prove that you legally earn your wealth! In Nigeria, you can be elected from the prison and go straight from therefrom to the Senate and from facing murder cases, multiple corruption charges in Court, contest a governorship, for GOVERNOR O, and still emerge as a winner! That is not corruption, it is leadership problem. Unless we have willing, strong, visionary, capable and reasonable leaders, civilised leadership to clean up all these madnesses, Nigeria will remain a mirage in mirror, a laughing stock in the world’s market place. It is annoying when immediate someone is arrested, some of us will shout ‘witch hunting’! Corruption is a fallout of bad leadership. Mad leadership begets bad fellowship! Repair the corruption Howdy will be okay but when the head is bad. I thought this was the same jazzy who said he doesn't want anything to do with American record labels, thereby going against dbanj's deal with Kanye... |
Guys try and look this picture again, this is not MR ibu, this man no short and e use style fair, moverover his facial structure is not of MR ibu, give us a clearer picture. |
CFCman:He doesnt sleep in either and he patronises hotel like how my mama dey patronise market for tomatoes, and the funniest and weird thing is he can book 3 different hotels and ask that midnight football opponents should be lodged there and you will think he is going to sleep at either one of the 3 only for him to change his mind at the last minute, those opponents will be paid in the morning and so is the lodge, and this man kept his kids abroad here while his wives are the iyalojas intimidating the road side seller. |
CFCman:Nope its his private line we called his office line several times but guess he was busy, it was even on a sunday evening that we eventually got through to him and he gave us a directive and the following day the secretary gave us a call. Sir the question here is this, do this NASS have an office phone number, how many times a week do they go there, i will cite an example, a friend of mine works with a certain current senator, this man has 2 different rented duplexes in abuja, with no one occupying it, 4 offices and he never sleeps in any one of the duplexes, he always sleeps in hotels and my friend says he hasn't been in either offices in 2 years, so tell me how can i get ahold of this man? if we send them emails i am pretty sure they wont read not to talk of replying, they will only change their email. These people are set and bunch of useless being, they dont have our interest in mind, i personally frown on nigerians calling to ask for assistance or money but at the same time i am happy they are doing it, so they will see and feel the rate of how poverty has eaten deep in the brain of the masses, and the whole system |
Splinz:Ok if you can't sacrifice your #100 naira, then dont cry foul, when there is no pay rise to wages, salary and when there is no visible development to your locality. I am sure you're happy with the current state of our country, where over 90% of the populace cannot feed themselves 2 mealsa deal. |
CFCman:Sir its not always the same, my wife had to call the governor of illinois directly in 2014 when her nursing license was delayed due to background check, she has never met or talk to this person before, the nursing board said the only person who can waive the background check issue is the governor so we had no choice than to call, although it took some days to get a hold of the governor but we did talk to him and it took just 1 day to get a reply back from his secretary and we got the license, so pls there is nothing special in having my representative number, just that some dumb nigerians will be calling for #100 recharge cards or tuition fees as if they are their parents, although if they had done or have been doing the right thing there is no reason for us to call them to demand for help. The dumb nigerians are calling because they know NASS have the money, imagine a NASS member taking home the salary of a level 7 officer, do you think we will bother to call them for help? |
herbie27:The reason they are in NASS is because they wanted to serve the public so why should they have privacy, when they should have been our servant rather its the other way round, in advance countries, you know the name, age, house number, office number and personal and official phone number of your rep or senate, thats why they are called public servant, so i see don't see anything wrong in having their number. If they have been doing or had done the right thing or enact a law that will better the masses livelihood, do you think people will care to call them? Even if we decide to call it will be to show appreciation for a job well done. Acidosis:So what you're basically saying is that since there is link btw Tinubu and SR they should not post any news, if any senator or rep member see this as witchhunt or threat then they should do likewise and expose their counterparts who are corrupt as well, that way the blame and load will be shared evenly. So i should keep quiet and watch while they make and enact silly laws to favor themselves and their associates alone while there are thousands of masses in prison for just stealing #1000 , while a man who stole billions of pension fund is still enjoying his money after he bailled himself with #300, same can't be said for another who stole a goat and he is in prison for the past 5years in remand.... yet we cry foul everyday while we support impunity and corruption by our so called public servants. |
Thanks OP In as much as this deal looking yummy, we should take a caution here, have we ever thought on how this will impact our made in nigeria goods and our small and medium scale manufacturers, because its going to be cheaper to ship in goods now, even before this deal there has been masssive inflow of china goods in nigeria with no standard ( fake) and there is no body or govt board/ parastatal checkmating and censoring our market, now that its easier to lay our hands on yuan easily, what will happen to our local made products? Although this deal is cool but i personally think there should be a strict law to checkmate the spending and the disbursement of the loan. I personally think there should be minimum amount to be spend monthly, and i think they should make it more accessible to registered manufacturers and raw material merchants than the whole entire populace, and there should be a list of what we can buy and what we can't buy from china, they should place an embargo on importation of what we produce locally becuase at the end of the day china will smile home with their achievement and we might come out worse at the end of this deal than we went in. Pardon my composition and this is just my view and take so be lenient on your bashings |
While reading this post, I laugh considering the fact everybody believes what linda ikeji said about wizkid not owning a house in naija and US as he claimed. I doubt if linda knows how the housing system works in the UNITED state, there are a lot of option to get a home, from mortgage, to rent-to-own to outright payment and there are steps you take and you have to be qualified, wizkid might not have bought the house outright due to state housing law or maybe tax, but I believe he might have use the rent-to-own package which pretty states he pay the money over a time period so technically he owns the house as long as the payments are being made. About naija house, it's only a fool who will believe wizkid doesn't have a house. How much does it take to build a house compared to what he makes annually or even buy one. Until that day when the celebs starts instituting class actions on this Bloggers they won't learn lessons, cos they are practically using the celebs to make money so it's no crime if a celeb sues them to court to get their own share of the money too |
