4) People should stop being attorneys to their favorite players. Some can argue with the last blood in their veins just to defend a player they so much idolize. All the players are Nigerians whether foreign born or locally bread. And they all deserve a right to play for their fatherland.

5) Forgiveness. I see reasons with a lot of your points but I think the manner and approach you have adopted will only lead to a thread (ethnic) war here. Nobody is free from tribal sentiments whether knowingly or unknowingly but you don't have to make it too obvious.

Objectivity on this thread was lost the day Nigeria lost to South Africa

Some became personal attorneys to their favorite players.
Some saw this as an opportunity to retable their favorite players.

All I see is sentiments, hate, tribalism, favouritism and what have you.

Oga Joseph1013, the original poster, is no where to be found. Tbaba1234 has gone to celebrate Salah, safarigirl is probably more occupied in some other thread.

another problem is that we will have vacant spaces in the middle, if Mikel drops deep there will be a lot of empty spaces in the middle and Iwobi does not have the engine to cover that at all

i think we need one creative player in the middle, we need the other two to be able to recorver possesion because iwobi will not perform well if we don't see much of the ball

I just finished watching Nacho's goals for man city and they are all basically one touch goals that is tappings. Now get me right am not saying they are not goals but they are simpler to score because they only require positioning which has a lot to do with luck ( because to anticipate you guess and that could be wrong or right)
Nacho has the Ronaldo kind of hype - all about goals but he can do better as evidenced in the goal he scored against Southampton from outside the box but playing him as a striker makes him almost static. when I say static in this sense I mean a striker sometimes goes to midfield to make space for runners from deep and that can give him the space to do what I think he can do best well, that is taking curling shots from around the eighteen yard box
In summary I think Nacho's best position is the AMF/SS where he can show his total talent and also make those runs for the tappings as well
yea thats is his best position
but can also play the cf role very well

Former Nigeria U15 international Dennis Bonaventure netted on his unofficial debut for Club Brugge in their first pre-season match against Westkapelle on Saturday, June 24.

The Belgian First Division A club thrashed their opponents 9-0, with the new Nigerian striker finding the net in the 71st minute.

The former Zorya Luhansk wonderkid has signed a four-year deal with Club Brugge.

Sir Komekn... I love the way you made a nice case for Anichebe's season.... he was indeed plagued by injuries. And the few times he featured, he did pretty good.

Now I ask... why then do you find it difficult accepting that Little rising Osimhen also battled with Injuries and even at that still got played by the coach immediately he came back from injury when Wolfsburg battled relegation??

You make a case for Anichebe's injuries but you ignore Osimhen's injury plight... even calling Osimhen a bench warmer.

Now that is what I call bad-ass sentiments. smiley
not to mention success that he term useless with the same injury problem

Balotelli or Sanchez
Lukaku or Aguero
Costa or Suarez
King or Firminho

I rest my case.

Which meal would you rather have football connoisseurs huh huh huh huh huh

Tell me who defenders fear pass.

NUFF SAID
why you change the question?
We are talking about those players with hold up, build up play and back to goal but lack goals not those that has goals
lukaku has goals compare to anichebe

hold up play and basically to unsettle the muscle head Cameroon defenders.

Anichebe opens the door for Defoe to deliver although as small as Defoe is he can still operate as a single striker. However, it's more effective with Anichebe who also scores the odd goal given the chance. On his day a defenders worst nightmare.
who will you pick? thats the question sir

Anichebe when he was able to play opened up chances for Defoe. But Defoe without doubt is exceptional in a moi moi team like Sunderland he was still able to perform wonders.

Anichebe simply deh open road make better person pass and score. And d beta person na Defoe, a consistent top performing striker for over 15 years in the premiership.
defoe was scoring goals in the absent of anichebe #facts

H

It is comparative analysis.

Anichebe has been plagued by Injury after Injury trying to get 10 games out of Anichebe without Injury is almost impossible.

I have watched Anichebe live over quite a lot g period.
But in recent times I watched him live single handedly bully they entire defensive line of Liverpool. In addition every single ball that was thrown into the 18 he claimed with his head.

I watched him out pace Clyne in a race for the ball at the end of the match which Sunderland lost all the commentators said he was unplayable that day.

I am looking at him doing a job and doing it very well and that is too bully the entire defensive line up of Cameroon.
and success was not plagued with injury abi?
Success against boro was the MOTM in the match he was just unplayable
and we have a'aron samuel who people have forget. I will pick him ahead of anichebe

It's to explain and highlight the philosophy and ethos of Manchester city.

And to further explain the kind of player KC is his abilities fit into the Manchester city system albeit with a handicap of limited pace comparative to the three preferred forward players ahead of him.

But because they don't play lone ranger football th limitations of KC as outright striker are not exposed. And because they play such a system even a very limited Isaac Success would still score goals albeit probably not as many as KC.

When you are surrounded by quality players they will bring out the best in a player.

KC is an excellent player who when he plays in a team with less quality across the team. Will have to stand up and be counted that will be his true test.

I have made similar observations about Iwobi he looks good in an Arsenal team that is technically excellent however, ask him to get down and dirty, rough and tumble and he will have problems.

That's why players like Drogba, Lukaku, Ibrahimovic, Yaya, Balotelli, etc no matter the set up will excel because they are very versatile.

In the modern game the term winger is becoming outdated, particularly in the 4-3-3 where all three forward players interchange. In this regard would you call Ronaldo or Bale wingershuh
will you pick anichebe ahead of defoe because of hold up and build up play or back to goal?

If you put Isaac Success in Man city with the kind of support given to the forward players, he will score goals.

KC true test will be when he goes to Leicester or West Ham and finds far less quality approach play and support. Then he will have his true baptism and his true quality will be seen.
then kc is useless

KC is not a stand alone striker in the mold of Drogba, Lukaku, Anichebe, Ibrahimovic, Balotelli.

He needs support to be effective otherwise he will be out of his comfort zone and almost invisible. The match against a far less physical and aggressive SA and indeed even the game against Senegal exposed these limitations in his game.
bros are they playing for nigeria apart from anichebe who i will term useless following your logic on isaac success

what is hold up play or build up play without goals as a striker?

Rohr Will Break Eagles Rule On Players In Europe Second Tier League For Chelsea Ola Aina

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/IMG_2917.jpg

A source close to the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has confirmed that Chelsea Ola Aina will still be in the frame for a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria even if he joins a team in the second tier of English football.

Aina has already applied for a switch of nationality from England to Nigeria, but his switch is yet to be formally approved by FIFA, which is why he didn’t play for Nigeria in their 0-2 loss to South Africa in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers.

Former coach of the Super Eagles Sunday Oliseh introduced the rule of barring players playing in second tier league during his reign as coach of the team, but it appears Rohr isn’t keen on maintaining the rule.

Aina is heavily linked with a move to the English Championship side Norwich City and Hull City from Chelsea in order for him to get game time, but a close source to Rohr claims it won’t have any effect on his potential call up to the senior national team of Nigeria.

” I’m hearing about the rule for the first time, but that said Aina is still at Chelsea, and even if he moves to the Championship, his future with Nigeria won’t be affected by playing in English second tier league”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Already the manager has seen what he likes in him, but you must also consider the Championship, it’s a very competitive league with players of various nationals playing in it. Beside it’s rated by many as the fourth strongest league in Europe. So it isn’t bad at all”.
