I don't think the average Igbo cares who the president is or where he comes from though he may have his choice, he like the common man everywhere wants good governance, he wants food on his table, he wants an enabling environment for his business to thrive.

It's true that government can't run every business in a country but which one is the Nigerian govt running and running effectively?
While it's true that private sector participation is key to national development, the govt must however show active interest in the key sectors. The Saudi govt runs Aramco, Brazil runs Petrobas while the Russian govt has about 50 or so percent equity in Gazprom and these are corporations raking in billions of dollars in revenue for the govt.

It's a shame that Dangote a private individual can run a refinery while the govt can't.

Thankfully the threat didn't work and Peter Obi defeated President Tinubu in Lagos state. Also even more impressively, President Tinubu urged his supporters to not resort to any violence after the result was announced, to quote him "that is the beauty of democracy"

Professor Soyinka, Nobel Prize winner, like the rest of us non-Obidients was concerned about the way Obidients sought to harass and insult people in the country who didn't believe in Peter Obi and, as is his right, spoke out against it.

By the way, I condemn the violence in Lagos State at polling booths against people perceived to be LP voters. Thankfully, none of it was enough to change the will of the people.
