yyba:Typical of a kid. Even the opposition APC know there isn't a division in PDP at the time the 27 ex lawmakers defected. I hate to teach unteachable kids like you, else I would've taught you what division in a party amounts to. |
senatordave1:Oh! They didn't defect? What did they do? |
yyba:So what's the division in the PDP either then or now? Please tell the world. |
yyba:So true and that's why I fear State Police. However, on this case, the court is spot on. The 25 ex lawmakers automatically lost their seats the second they defected to the APC. In a sane society, they don't even need to court to wade in before packing their bags out of the legislative quarters. As far as the 1999 Constitution is concerned, they are now ex lawmakers. |
JagabanB:Obi has no time to reply Reno, haven't you noticed? Reno is inconsequential. Besides there was no need to respond to Reno, because that's giving him the attention he craves. Obi only responded to questions asked about his time as a governor. Only a phool like Reno thinks that a governor must be a school even when there's no need for the school. |
alanto:So the measure of a govt's success is its ability to initiate, complete and commission a school? Gawd! How low can one think. We've said it countless times that Obi didn't have to initiate, complete and commission a secondary school as there's no need for it. Anambra has at the time Obi was governor secondary schools in all communities most of which were built by the communities themselves. All a responsible govt needs do is improve the standard of those schools which Obi did and which moved the state to no 1 position in the country. Obi is a good manager of resources, he understands that there's no need to build schools where they are not needed just to satisfy the likes of Reno. You guys should stop sounding silly just because you want to attack Obi. |
meditator:Even mad men are better than some of you that support this failed and incompetent govt. |
Afuzeman:That you think SSCE organized by WAEC happens all around Africa shows you ain't worth my time and I regret engaging you. Good night |
Afuzeman:The above shows the quality of reasoning of the current govt and those that support it. You guys are too one dimensional. 30th May have always been a day of memorial in the South East for fallen heros, the govt know it, they know what happens on that day. I expect a sensible govt to factor that in her planning. Whatever affects one region of the country should be of concern to the govt, but of course you don't know that. |
Afuzeman:You carefully skipped the main point of my comment to dwell on that that serves your purpose. Let me restate what I said, Obi's reaction or lack of it won't change the situation until the govt does what it needs to do. As for the skip of date, only kids born yesterday will not remember that at the instance or directive of the FG, WAEC have had to shift exam dates before. If the FG can direct WAEC , a West African examination body in 2011 and 2020 to shift exam dates, it could also have worked with WAEC to find a way around that May 30th date. That's being proactive and responsible. Anyway, I don't expect you to know that as bitterness towards a man and his nation has blinded you. |
Afuzeman:Peter Obi has at various times condemned the sit at home in the South East describing it as criminal. He has also outlined what needs to be done for peace to return to the South East, it's now left for the govt of Tinubu to do the needful. If there was justice to start with, there won't be insecurity in the South East that used to be the most peaceful region in Nigeria. You don't need Obi to do what the govt is empowered to do. So whether Obi speaks about it now or not changes nothing. It also goes to show that both the FG and WAEC are not proactive, they know the significance of May 30th for the Biafrans, so skipping that day or making alternative arrangements for candidates in the region would have been very appropriate. |
helinues:A bucket of mango of ten pieces I us d to buy @ N500 last year now goes for N1000. When I asked the sellers why the sharp increase in price when they don't need fuel and don't import the mango, they ask me how they are supposed to afford other items whose prices have gone up of they continue to sell at the old price. So above is the answer to your question. |
alanto:What else do you know other than these stale lines. I weep for people who take you seriously. |
alanto:The joke is on you and Reno daftoos. Why should Obi start a new school when there're schools both primary and secondary in every community? What economic sense does it make? You guys need to grow some.sense, Obi isn't wasteful, he knows where and when to spend money and that's why he left Anambra State in a very healthy state. |
Igboland isn't a place where communities wait for the govt to build schools, there communities build schools and hand over to the govt to manage. That's why all across the South East, you have Town School this and that, Community School this and that, Central School this and that, Group School this and that, Comprehensive Secondary School this and that. There's hardly any community in the South East that doesn't have one or two primary schools and at least one secondary school. They were built by the community. So why would a governor build another school.when.the.already existing ones are in bad shape and needed renovation and maintenance? Reno is so daft to think so. Isn't that the problem we're having in our tertiary education system where the govt is establishing universities here and there when the already existing ones are mere glorified secondary schools? Reno is daft I repeat. |
AcuraZDX:Stop stressing yourself buddy, Obi only stole his brain, that's why he's sounding so broken. |
RenaissanceGuy:It's not your money he's spending and besides he's always been a giver even before he joined politics. |
Wole Soyinka once said that "The man dies who keeps silent in the face of tyranny" I think that man has died in Wole Soyinka. A man who's more concerned with Peter Obi and 2027 than with the current wicked govt that has shown Nigerians shege. |
Lizzysamuel:I agree 100% with Datti Ahmed, what Soyinka is doing is attempted distraction and he doesn't deserve to our time. He's shown how small minded and bigoted he's, so small minded that he can't call out a govt that has plunged Nigerians into the worst destitution ever witnessed in the country. Soyinka is a huge disgrace and doesn't worth our time. |
Ishilove:Trash and gaslighting as usual. Tell me how Tinubu's followers are better than Obi's supporters. You want the Obidients to keep silent in the face of deluge of attacks and insults from you guys. You attack and insult them, when they respond, you start calling them vicious and ill mannered. What did the Obidients do that Oba of Lagos, Remi Tinubu, MC Oluomo and his boys, the likes of Bayo Onanuga, FFK and APC data boys have not done? Which names have they not called Obi for daring to exercise his constitutional right? |
helinues:These are among men and women who have received serious mention across the globe, people who you ain't fit to lace their shoes. These people are far better than the incompetent nearthertals Tinubu surrounds himself with that have taken us 500 years back. |
LegendHero:While it's true that the president can't review everything as it's impossible to do so, close attention, however, should be paid to very important matters and the constitution of the boards of federal tertiary institutions is one such important matter given how critical the boards are to the development of the institutions and to education in Nigeria in general. While the president may not be expected to scrutinize the list himself, he could however give it to his trusted aides like SSA on education or any other to help him out, after all that's what they're paid for. I'm not a fan of Tinubu understandably but the gale of policy reversals which has characterized the govt isn't good for the optics and its public perception and approval, not to add the psychological damage the removal of names may caused the nominees who have already celebrated nominations. Again, respect for federal character isn't one thing the president must joke with given how fragile the unity of Nigeria is at the moment, every segment of the society must be seen to be carried along. Any attempt deliberate or otherwise to exclude any part of the country will further fuel the sense of alienation. I give him kudos for listening to public outcry shaa which I believe would've been avoided had he done due diligence on the list |
If shamelessness has a synonym, it would be Wole Soyinka. He's turning out to be the worst ethnic bigot in Nigeria today. Can't believe this is the well respected Kongi, what peanuts and scraps from Tinubu's table have caused him. What a shame. |
sleek214:How has Yomi Edu transformed the economy of Nigeria? Has our laws/jurisprudence become better under Lateef Fagbemi? I don't even know the name of the Minister of Information but you can be sure that that Arise TV boy will be better than him. |
As good as this is, I wish for a time when state governors would have no hand/role in the appointment and deposition of traditional rulers. That role should be that of kingmakers acting on their own. The politicization of the traditional institution have really brought it to ridicule and shame, have reduced the prestige and honour those offices attract. The question now is, what happens if in 2027 or 2031 a govt sympathetic to Ganduje and APC takes over in Kano State, do we expect the status quo to remain? Ganduje started what may finally obliterate the Kano Emirate in time to come. |
Zulum:If an ex governor isn't experienced enough to lead Nigeria, then I don't know what counts as experience. You voted for a Tinubu who was also an ex governor as experience but Obi isn't experienced, you see why Nigeria is doomed. |
I remember years ago when my uncle (my father's junior brother) sent one piece of wrapper to my mother and through another woman as part of his Christmas gifts for widows in the kindred. I told the woman to send the wrapper back to him and tell him that me and my brothers are very capable of gifting our mother any kind of wrapper she wants. I told her to tell him not to insult my mother again. Remi Tinubu has just insulted the APC woman without them knowing. How are they even supposed to know when they have mortgaged their conscience. I don't blame Remi, that's the level the woman have reduced themselves too. |
Putindbutt:By EFFC act, they don't need to wait for petition before investigating any public official suspected of fraud, they are empowered to demand and scrutinize account books of govt agencies if they feel like. Come to think of it, why was EFCC running after Fubara during Wike's time? Was it not to get at Wike somehow since he was covered by immunity then? If there was a petition then, they should rely on it and investigate the Rivers State govt account operated then by Wike. |
