Programming / Re: Is There Any Big Programming Companies Like Google In Nigeria?? by makavele: 5:03pm On Nov 30, 2019
honest advice coming in real quick . .

1. the complexity of any project shall only be determined by the engineers, the scrum masters and tech leads (whom of course were once engineers too). You could argue back and forth over it ( especially if you wanna save money ) but at the end of the day; engineers have more hindsight and will be the ones in charges . . so you get a fair pricing, at least for the not-so-greedy-ones.

2. u're gonna get trash built in the long run, cos i guarantee you there are 10 million people ready to accept 100k to have that built; and they know nothing about system designs for such apps. which brings us to 3:

3. ask whomsoever is ready to take up the project for a thorough system design and flow chart. if they've done it before, they should be able to send it in minutes, if they have not, but know their owns, send it in one day . . if they're dumb, you'll get rubbish . . even you without engineering eyes would see the through it.

4. then ask them to provide a solution that scales that design rapidly in seconds . .

5. look for a seasoned CTO to help you drill them during the negotiation or interview ( you might pay this person ) and make sure he's not gonna betray you.

6. when you're here, you would have filtered 99% of the fakes.

7. payments should be done in milestones, finish one milestone get paid . . . money is held centrally for all to see . .
if the milestone is way below standard (which should not be if you followed 1 - 6 thoroughly); then eject them from the contract . . . immediately

8. or skip the hassle and look for seasoned IT firms, and be ready to budget 10m and above

good luck

Thanks man I had this feeling there was more to it than meets the eye

For now, those are enough.
But when working in a team, then you,ll see the other side of git wey go show u pepper e.g

git rebase, git bisect, git fetch, git stash, git reset, git commit --amend, git log, git diff, etc

if you have time and a few MB for a video call, I can take you on a round trip in Git to kickstart and build your confidence.

I don't mean it as an insult na. Calm down.

LOL .. well for one, the question was typed in English Language and two;
there were more at least 4 clues on how to proceed with the question;
three: i was supposedly going head to head with the "king of js" i assumed
and four: why would someone spend up to 10 minutes browsing LeetCode questions; looking for a very tough one
the same one, he cannot solve till this world ends (and how do I know that, cos in his pasted answer, he uses setInterval; instead of setTimeout (and guess what setTimeout is still wrong) . . if he doesn't know the fundamentals of js, why go and pick a medium diff question.
The same LeetCode i'v been paying premium $35 every month for God knows hw long . . Amazing . . .
The moment i saw the que, i hissed and banned him . . . because I knew he was gonna copy the answers and paste to me; albeit edited . .
and it makes no sense . .

If you solve a spiral matrix question; yet you don't know jack shit about async workers; or the difference between setInterval and setTimeout (or when to use each) then that's foul play . . .
It like you claiming to be have a cure for HIV and you don't know that Vitamin C is aka "ascorbic acid"

The 5 stages of grief . . He's in stage 1: DENIAL.
It will soon be over, let's wait it out . . .

just shut up you copy cat.

so your question was a 2 minute question?

that was my 2 minutes attempt to your question

Dont argue, I'll paste screenshots here . . then Nairalanders will tell if you it was a 2mins que or not, even bumped it to 6 minutes and then 10 mins . . yet you paste that crap . . .

You better find a way to delete that crap you posted . . The internet never forgets . . .
I should have know better . . I blame myself for stooping so low . . .

Bleep it, am outta here. This is the last response you'll get. I know your type now . .

solution to your little problem.

var fucku = 0
function data (info1, info2){
fucku++
var rand = Math.floor(Math.random()*2 + 1)
if(fucku==5){
fucku = 0
var Randrespond = ['x','Bleep u makavele', 'Bleep ur ass makavele']
console.log(Randrespond[rand])
console.log('Your data is not ready')
}

}
setInterval(data, 30000)

I believe that's your answer to this question below

Implement a simple function that will take two parameters. These parameters would be sent by somebody who is seeking information e.g. flight details between Lagos and Kenya . . . . .Your function should take these parameters; execute in the background thread for V8 and after say, 30 seconds and return random data just for this challenge only, any random data . . Your function should be able to respond to pings every 5 seconds, if the data is not ready, tell the pinger, else return the data

Chisos !!!!

Wait for screenshots . . . . You took so long; went to LeetCode (https://leetcode.com/problems/spiral-matrix/) ; pasted a medium difficulty question and expect me to solve in 2 mins eh? Go through the submissions and tell me if that's a 2mins que . .

When I typed my own questions off my head and gave you 10 freaking minutes . . .and they were Easy diffuculty questions . .

And if I show u no contribution histories you'd use that as basis to judge my programming abilities

You clown.... looking for ways to dodge this algorithm challenge... u can't blackmail me you fuckkk

Yes I will . .

Maybe you should read what the history is all about ?

I'll help . . if I have a history of 800+ commits a month and you have 10?

What does it say? I did 800 commits that were merged into production and of course, these commits must have been reviewed

in their respective PRs by the Tech Lead or CTO (where applicable); corrected , revised, refactored, reengineered and then merged . . .

If I do the same thing 800 times in a month and you do it 10 times?

Who's gonna be more perfect at it?

By the way if yo don't use Version Control of any kind? How do you automate your workflow; deal with regression? Revert to a previous version (in

the case of gross regression) or even work with a pipeline? Or work in a distributed team ?

I need answers, seriously this time. No jokes.

p.s.: it's you who has refused to install Telegram for your "algorithm challenge". Everybody is online and waiting cos I specifically asked them to.

Good day, guys,

Having saved up some amount of money, I am considering quitting my job and getting acquainted with an IT skill.

There is this friend of mine, who is a Web designer, developer, programmer and even a graphic designer; the guy is quite good (he started learning all these from a very young age).

When I contacted him and asked him to teach me Web development, he said OK, but his fee is 120k for three months. I opened my mouth in shock.

Well, long story short, I negotiated, and he finally cut down the price to 80k saying it's because we are friends. He said he would be teaching me Css, Html, Java script and NodeJs. I don't know Jack about all of that, I have only built sites with WordPress, but I feel the price is still too high.

Are there cheaper options for me or should I just go with him?

Lucky you . . some schools charge well over 6 million naira for the same thing, he's charging 80k for
Use your tongue to count your teeth . . .
