There is a Huge difference between the jungle

And a civil society with Law and order.

In the jungle, the biggest and baddest animal can assault and threaten any other animal without repercussions.

In a civil society people learn to live with each other amicably and resolve differences through appointed and constituted authority.

If you are an animal in a civil society you are dangerous to other law abiding citizens.

If you are a human in the jungle, you are in a dangerous environment.

Every once in a while, we see some animals pretending to be civil humans in a civil society, its our job to rehabilitate them.

You can't even suspend him. No be your own?

Elisha Abbo abi what's that northern senator's name with curled Jerry hair, his own case was even worst than this yet nothing was done
Senator Ningi was suspended for 3 months for mere allegations against his colleagues....on the spot suspension, he didnt slap, threaten, damage phone, impersonate or use polic to threaten anyone.

Senator Abbo intimacy gadget man, face a televised disciplinary commitee with remi tinubu and the other senior senators gave him a hard time.

Now its Alex Ikwechegh's turn. Ben Kalu laughs and says no one can suspend him. Even with video evidence of assault, threat to make him disappear(kill him), damage his phone and tore his shirt , used the police to threaten and arrest him.

Do you see the what Ikwechegh and Ben Kalu are doing to democracy ?
PoliticsRe: We Can’t Rush To Suspend Alex Ikwechegh - Benjamin Kalu Dep. Speaker HoR (Video) by malali:
Senator Abdul Ningi (a seasoned senator) was suspended for 3 months on just mere allegations.(No disciplinary committee, No ethics committee)

Fast forward to Dishonorable Alex Ikwechegh.Who was caught on video evidence
1-Assaulting an innocent man
2-Threatening to make him disappear (Kill him)
3-Tearing his shirt and damaging his phone
4-Misrepresenting himself and impersonating a senator
5-Threatening an innocent man with the Nigerian police force.

Ben Kalu (who is also an Abia House of representative) tells Nigerians while laughing with so much levity. That he cannot be suspended. Where is the democracy ? Is justice only for certain people in Nigeria ?
When we had military rule, soldiers would beat and molest civilians for the flimsiest reasons. Today we have democratic dictators who beat other civilians and come back to the house of representatives with laughs and jest from the likes of Ben Kalu.
PoliticsRe: See Reps' Reaction Over Ikwechegh's Apology, Insists Bolt Driver Must Be Heard by malali: 11:23pm On Oct 29, 2024
Ben Kalu thwarted justice by allowing Alex Ikwechegh to remain in the house.

The right thing to do is to suspended him from the house of representatives pending investigations.(Thats the least he should do)

Senator Abdul Ningi was suspended on the floor of the senate and bundled out for allegations against him by his colleagues. He did not slap anybody, he did not threaten to make Akpabio disappear, he did not threaten Akpabio with death or disappearance,he did not damage the property of any senator. He was given a 3 month suspension with immediate effect.

Ben kalu while laughing and addressing the senate today refused to suspend Alex Ikwechegh. Ben Kalu has just shown the world he is a democratic dictator.

Because the only time Nigerians were assaulted and molested without repercussions was in the hands of the military during military regime. How are we any different today. When a lawmaker seen on video assaulting a citizen is allowed back in the house of represenatives amidst cheers and laughter.
PoliticsDemocratic Dictators: The Disgrace Of Alex Ikwechegh’s Case by malali(op): 11:22pm On Oct 29, 2024
The House of Representatives has treated Alex Ikwechegh’s appalling conduct with laughable disdain, reflecting a disturbing trend where lawmakers can assault citizens without consequence. His case, dismissed with a chuckle by Ben Kalu, showcases a concerning trend: the abandonment of accountability in favor of friendship. Kalu’s flippant remarks — claiming Ikwechegh won’t be suspended despite public outcry — signify a mockery of democracy.

The comparison to Senator Abdul Ningi’s swift suspension for budget padding highlights a biased system. Where is the decorum? The House must uphold justice and discipline; otherwise, we risk normalizing abuse under the guise of political camaraderie. This is not merely a personal failure but a systemic betrayal of the democratic ideals many sacrificed to achieve.

The implications are dire. If lawmakers can act with impunity, what does that say for ordinary citizens? We cannot allow this precedent to take root. Ben Kalu must act decisively and suspend Ikwechegh, ensuring our representatives remember they are public servants, not untouchable figures above the law. If we fail to hold them accountable, we become complicit in creating a new breed of democratic dictators. We are not animals; we deserve a government that respects and protects its citizens. The time for action is now.

PoliticsAlex Ikwechegh is not sorry. Lawmaker or Lawbreaker ? by malali(op):
By now, Nigerians are all too familiar with the performance of the insincere apology—a spectacle where a public figure feigns contrition, but in reality, it’s a calculated attempt to salvage ego, preserve public image, and evade real consequences. Alex Ikwechegh’s recent apology strikes all the hallmarks of what we know as the narcissist’s apology. It’s an apology that has nothing to do with genuine remorse but everything to do with appearances and damage control.

Spotting the Narcissist’s Apology

If we dissect Ikwechegh’s words and actions, we quickly see the signs of a classic narcissistic deflection. A sincere apology would involve acknowledgment of the wrongdoing, clear accountability, and a willingness to face repercussions. However, Ikwechegh’s response does none of this—it serves as a placating, ego-driven performance meant to buy time and secure his political standing. To him, the apology is merely another tool in his arsenal to maintain the façade of credibility.

Nigerians must not fall for it. Ikwechegh’s apology does not reflect remorse; it reflects a desire to repair his image, not to make amends for dishonorable conduct. Such self-serving apologies, devoid of sincerity, are insulting to Nigerians who expect a House of Representatives that lives up to its title: Honorable. We cannot have a representative whose sole concern is his public persona and not the law or moral integrity expected of someone in his position.

Shouldn’t a Lawmaker Be Law-Abiding?

Imagine hiring a doctor who deliberately harms patients, a tailor who destroys customers’ clothing, or a plumber who intentionally breaks the very pipes he’s hired to fix. In any of these professions, deliberate wrongdoing would be grounds for immediate dismissal, if not legal action. And yet, a lawmaker, someone who not only represents the people but who should embody the law itself, seems to operate with immunity. It is absurd to think that someone entrusted with a seat in the House of Representatives can break the very laws they are supposed to uphold and face no consequences. Ikwechegh’s actions mock the very institution he was chosen to represent.

The House of Representatives, if it is to remain a place of honor, cannot be a haven for dishonorable conduct. An individual who views public office as a pedestal for personal glory rather than as a platform for public service has no place there. To allow him to stay unchallenged is to erode public trust and set a damaging precedent for what it means to serve in public office.

It’s Time for a Disciplinary Committee Intervention

Ikwechegh’s case must be met with rigorous scrutiny from a House disciplinary committee. Lawmakers who betray their oaths of office should be held accountable, and an apology—especially one as hollow as Ikwechegh’s—should never be considered a substitute for genuine accountability. Public office is not a privilege but a responsibility, and Nigerians deserve representatives who respect the gravity of this commitment.

The committee should review his actions, weigh them against the standards expected of a representative, and determine whether he truly fits the title of Honorable. For Abians, and Nigerians as a whole, it is essential to know that their representatives are men and women of character, not self-centered opportunists masquerading as public servants.

Let Us Clear Out Political Narcissism for Good

The earlier we learn to identify and remove narcissists from positions of power, the sooner we build a political system that prioritizes the people over personal pride. Public office should not be a refuge for those who see power as a means of self-promotion rather than a duty to serve.

By holding people like Ikwechegh accountable, we send a clear message: Nigerians will not be placated by insincere apologies, and we will not tolerate dishonor in our government. It is time for the people of Abia, and Nigerians as a whole, to demand leadership that is genuinely honorable.

PoliticsRe: Alex Ikwechegh Addresses Plenary About Assault (Video) by malali: 7:22pm On Oct 29, 2024
The guilty should not be allowed to judge themselves, he reeks of "narcissism", he is only apologizing for his own ego, everything he says and does is 100% about him.

1-Physical assault (Slapping)
2-Threat to life and bodily harm. (I will make you disappear)
3-False Misrepresentation and impersonation ( You are not a senator, you are a member house of representative.....)
4-Disregard for the law. (You can go ahead and call the IG of police)
5-Destruction of property. (Tore his cloth and damaged his phone)

The right thing to do is to remove this member by having him face the house disciplinary committee and then expelled. He has brought enough dishonor and disrepute to the house. @OP Are you just realizing that the Agulu packaged fraud is a bigot?.. the dude isn't even hiding his bigotry. I've pointed it out several times here but it's like most Nigerians don't pay attention to detail.
You see the problem with Igbos generally is that they look at everything from tribal lens, they won't ever take responsibility for their actions and won't see wrong in what other Igbos do. They'll readily cover one another up not minding the offence committed. It's the reason they are all demanding for Kanu's release as if FG just picked a random Igbo man from the streets and sent him to jail. They just don't know when to stop their bigotry and victim mentality (no offence intended).

Don't be surprised that the 'gbaju e' man won't condemn the erring Igbo lawmaker but let any news come from South West or North and see the m0fo rush to drop criticism on X.

PoliticsPeter Obi’s Silence: The Selective Integrity That Proves He’s No President by malali(op): 8:34pm On Oct 28, 2024
As Nigerians, we’ve been through enough—enough betrayal, enough selective justice, enough lip service. And yet, we’re here again, witnessing Peter Obi, a man vying for the highest office in our country, practicing a brand of selective silence that is not only disturbing but fundamentally flawed for anyone aspiring to lead a nation as complex and demanding as ours.

When it comes to national issues, Peter Obi has been strangely silent, particularly when his own base or the Southeast are implicated. The latest example? The case of House of Representatives member Alex Ikwechegh allegedly assaulting someone—a clear-cut issue of abuse of power. Yet, from Obi? Silence. Not even a whisper. Contrast this with how quickly he springs to life, microphone in hand, when incidents occur in other regions. Whether it’s the North or the South, Obi doesn’t hesitate to weigh in, sometimes even prejudging cases before any investigation has been launched. His speeches flow like the Niger River when he perceives an opportunity to score political points outside his stronghold, but when accountability hits closer to home? Not a word.

This isn’t just a slip in character—it’s a critical failure in presidential caliber. Leadership demands consistency in values. Nigerians can no longer afford leaders who pick and choose when to stand with them. Justice isn’t supposed to be regional or conditional, but Obi’s selective moral outrage makes it seem otherwise.

Now, take a look at Atiku Abubakar. Despite his personal closeness to Senator Abbo—the same senator who shamefully assaulted a young woman in a intimacy gadget shop—Atiku made a statement that made Nigerians take notice. He didn’t mince words, didn’t dodge accountability; he publicly condemned Abbo’s actions, stating they were unbecoming of a senator and called for due legal repercussions. He didn’t hide behind friendship or affiliations. He displayed what a presidential candidate should: a readiness to hold even close associates accountable, a commitment to a standard that is supposed to apply to every Nigerian equally. That’s the mark of a leader with a presidential mindset—someone prepared to make the hard calls, even when they cut close to home.

Peter Obi, for all his touted prudence, lacks this backbone. And the silence isn’t limited to him alone. Many who should have condemned Alex Ikwechegh’s actions have turned mute, their outrage suspiciously absent. This silence from Obi and others reveals a culture that prioritizes convenience over principle, comfort over courage.

Nigeria cannot afford leaders who speak when it suits them and go silent when the waters get choppy. Real leadership requires speaking out not just when it’s convenient but when it’s necessary. We need leaders who don’t just occupy the spotlight but hold it up to everyone—including themselves and their allies. Peter Obi may have been a fine governor, perhaps even a great one. But presidential material? True leadership requires more than economic savvy or regional appeal. It requires an unyielding commitment to justice that transcends friendship, geography, and political calculations.

In the end, Nigeria deserves a leader who sees this nation as a whole, not as fractured segments where allegiance depends on the audience. Until Peter Obi can stand firm, without regard to where his support lies, he will remain a regional figure at best, a man whose aspirations reach the presidency but whose actions reveal the limits of his leadership. A great governor? Maybe. A presidential figure for all Nigerians? Hardly. And for those watching—those who still believe in holding every Nigerian to account without fear or favor—it’s time to demand more from the people we consider presidential contenders. We need leaders who have the courage to hold justice high, even when it stings their closest supporters. That’s real leadership. That’s what Nigerians deserve.
