The only sensible comment here. Tackle problem from the roots.

Dont mind dangote, he wants to use Nigerians to fight his battles
Both of them got Emefiele's dollars subsidized from federal government
Dangote used his own to build refinery
Farouk used his own to send his children to schools abroad
Now Dangote wants to call him corrupt.

Dangote is not the Chairman of EFCC or the ICPC to be the one calling out corrupt individuals. There's a conflict of interest. And everyone will do whatever they can to protect theirs
They both got Emefiele dollars
Dangote used his own largess to build a refinery
Farouk used his to send his children to school.

Case closed.
PoliticsRE: Aliko Dangote Versus Farouk Ahmed....they both got Emefiele dollars by malali(op): 11:01am On Dec 16, 2025
I have seen the damning allegations made by Aliko Dangote accusing Farouk Ahmed CEO NMDPRA of being corrupt as a public civil servant. Documenting his exorbitant schools fees in Switzerland boarding schools.
First of all, I do not know any of them. I am just making comments based off what has been published.

First of all this is the annual cost of each school
• Montreux School (Switzerland) — ~$60,000–$75,000 / year
(Smaller private school; boarding options vary.)
• Aiglon College (Villars-sur-Ollon) — ~$105,000–$115,000 / year
(Elite boarding; alpine campus.)
• Institut Le Rosey (Rolle & Gstaad) — ~$110,000–$135,000 / year
(Most expensive; dual-campus winter migration.)
• La Garenne International School (Villars-sur-Ollon) — ~$75,000–$95,000 / year
(Primary/early secondary; boarding available.)

If the kids paid the higher amount for 6 years the total is 2.5 million dollars

Dollar rates in CBN for the last 7 years (Assuming Farouk Ahmed got his dollars from CBN subsidized just like Dangote did for his refinery)
• 2019: ~₦360–380
• 2020: ~₦380 ⁺
• 2021: ~₦410 ⁺
• 2022: ~₦450 ⁺
• 2023: ~₦750 ⁺
• 2024: ~₦1,200–1,500 ⁺
• 2025: ~₦1,440–1,450 ⁺

Lets use an average of 450naira....Thats a total of 1.1 billion naira
Lets even round it up to 3 billion (To include airfare the MBA child at todays rate, since Emefiele is gone)

I am not defending Farouk Ahmed.

When President Tinubu ordered the withdrawal of police escorts from VIPs, he made a blanket announcement: all police attached to VIPs were to return to duty immediately. He did not single out Peter Obi or Atiku. That is how rules are supposed to work in a serious country, general, neutral, and universal.

My point is simple: when you make a rule, it must apply to everyone, not only to your rival or antagonist.

If Dangote truly wants to fight corruption, let him sponsor a bill in the Nigerian Senate mandating that all public officials educate their children in Nigerian schools. That would be a structural, systemic reform, and I would support him without hesitation.

But using corruption allegations selectively to win a personal or commercial battle with Farouk Ahmed is not reform. Nigerians are not naïve. We know corruption exists. What we are looking for is a credible, principled anti-corruption fight, not a weaponized narrative deployed when business interests collide.

Real reform targets systems, not just enemies.

What's the source of his money or his parents money? This is why divide between the poor and the rich will remain extremely high in Nigeria.I know graduates in Nigeria and earning ₦50,000 as salary monthly. Yet somehow, you don't see anything wrong with someone using almost ₦7billion naira to pay his kids tuition. Now, I'm not ignoring the fact as you say that Dangote is singling out Farouk Ahmad. It's always about interesta and people would do whatever they deem fit to protect their personal interests. But it doesn't justify you supporting a public appointed to head a position paying billions in naira for tuition for his kids. In. A country where country that pays $50 as minimum wage as salary? $50 * 1500/$ = ₦75,000 . Haba... Make una dey fear God. And you keep saying $5million is next to nothing or not much. But he gets in a fight with Farouk Ahmed.
Then he rushes to the media houses, and starts shouting that Farouk is smelling and has body odor. That sanitary inspectors should go to Farouks house, He has not showered in days.....LOL
Dangote fully well knows most of his friends don't shower (are corrupt)
Why is he picking on Farouk Ahmed ?
Knowing fully well over 50 of his public servant friends don't shower (are corrupt)

You and I both know that even if he has legitimately earned larger than average salaries in his oil and gas career, he wouldn't consider paying such huge sums as school fees in Switzerland of all places if he didn't have access to monies earned by graft. Surprise, surprise
He is not the only public civil servant with children in Le Rosey

Is this accusation related with the ongoing tussle with NMDPRA crude allocation ?

But now he has stolen it, you and your friends will have to go and scratch around to get yours, maybe snatch from another kit and kin.
I am not supporting Farouk Ahmed. Dont get me wrong. My Question is 1- Dangote has being in the Nigerian government circles for at least 35 years. Why is he championing corruption allegation fight against Farouk Ahmed today ?
2- Is this the first time Dangote is seeing corrupt Nigerian officials ?
3-Does he have a secondary motive and is conveniently using corruption to execute his intent to have Farouk Ahmed removed due to their crude allocation tussle, that has been going on for a few years ?
4-Can Dangote come out openly to say he has never been involved in any corrupt practices or bribery of government officials in his business endeavors ?

5- If we want to make a rule, that all public servants children should school in Nigeria (Which was proposed by senator Basheer Lado of Kano in the last administration). Then we should make that rule.
6- However we will not allow corruption which is rampant to be used in settling scores. Thats what i am against.
7-Dangote should sponsor a bill in the senate, that all public servants should school their children in Nigeria, and anyone sending his schools abroad must resign from public service.

It's disgusting to share a country with people like you. If Nancy Pelosi is worth 280million dollars and is paid $174k salary. 174 * how many years does she need to be able to earn to $280million?

Dont get me wrong. I am not saying Farouk Ahmed is not corrupt. But Dangote choosing to go after his kids because he is in a tussle with NMDPRA, OF WHICH farouk Ahmed is the CEO is punching below the belt.
Since when has Dangote being an activist and corruption fighter in Nigeria

THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD ALLOW ANYONE WHO CAN IMPORT PETROL AT CHEAPER PRICES.

OR

ANYONE WHO CAN REFINE AT CHEAPER PRICES.

LET NIGERIANS BUY FROM THE CHEAPER SELLERS. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD JUST REGULATE THE QUALITY TO PREVENT BAD QUALITY PETROL.

Are you now trying to compare 🇺🇸 with Nigeria? Inside trading is not a crime in United States and most of the representatives with first hand information or heading committees usually take advantage and invest on specific stocks . For example, chairman house committee on defence, with budgetary information about the contracts going to Lockheed Martin next year, will quickly buy shares belonging to Lockheed Martin because he knows that the share value will increase after the announcement of such contracts to the public. Do you think if remotely, Nancy Pelosi is corrupt, the vindictive Trump won't have jailed her? We all saw what he is doing to Latisha James.

PoliticsRe: Trump More Than Happy With Our Refinery — Dangote by malali: 6:34am On Dec 16, 2025
NMDPRA can’t just sell all Nigerian crude to Dangote

1. Regulatory mandate & legal duty
• Farouk is legally bound by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and other statutes to manage allocation of crude and refined products impartially.
• Selling all government crude to a single company would violate competition laws, procurement regulations, and PIA provisions.

2. Market stability & national interest
• Nigeria must maintain a diversified supply chain to avoid monopolies and ensure price stability for domestic consumers.
• Allocating all crude to Dangote could trigger fuel shortages, inflation, or public backlash if the refinery fails to process/distribute efficiently.

3. Transparency & accountability
• As a public servant, Farouk must justify allocations to government, parliament, and audit agencies. Any favoritism could be legally challenged or politically risky.

4. Avoiding monopoly & price manipulation
• Selling exclusively to Dangote would enhance Dangote’s market dominance, potentially creating a de facto monopoly in refined products. Regulators aim to prevent this.

5. Political and international scrutiny
• International lenders, investors, and trading partners monitor allocations; any perceived favoritism could jeopardize loans, investment guarantees, and Nigeria’s credit rating.

Dangote Refinery remains a private entity,in as much as it serves Nigerians. Nigeria can decide to sell its feedstock crude oil to Dangote or not. Its national decision.
NMDPRA should treat Dangote refinery, like any other buyer. Dangote too should sell petrol at open fair market prices. If the governement approaches him for lower prices,he should then negotiate crude sales with them.
Also crude oil is Nigeria's main revenue generator for the whole 250 million Nigerians. So its a matter of national security to sell all to one private entity. Thats not a good national security option if you ask me.
