Yetunde Akilapa has been released from prison and set free.
The Nollywood actress, who was sent to Kirikiri Prison, Apapa, Lagos around February 2013, for allegedly being in possession of 100 master key, has been discharged and acquitted of the theft charges brought against her.

Yetunde Akilapa was arrested around February and detained at Alade Police station in Somolu after she was accused of stealing a bunch of keys.
In a statement by her lawyer, Yetunde Akilapa said the keys she was caught with were used in her new movie, Bunmi Akata and that she was arrested after being framed by people she regarded as friends.

The case filed under Charge no F/10/13 COP v Yetunde Akilapa was dismissed for want of diligent prosecution.

The Headquarters of popular Lagos church Lord's Chosen and Charismatic Revival Church, founded by Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has been sealed off by the Lagos State Government for allegedly defacing and constituting environmental nuisance to its environment.

The church, located in Ijesha on Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos, was shut down on Sunday Oct. 6th by officials of the Ministry of the Environment and prevented thousands of worshipers from having their Sunday service that morning.
The Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello, explained why the Church was shut down
“The Church does not have proper sanitary system and they discharge their wastes into the canal. Most of their members trade on the expressway and we don’t want that"he said.

The commissioner also said the church had a habit of burning its refuse inside the church, an action that is against the environmental and sanitation law of the state. He said the church will be re-opened only after it builds new toilets, build a sewage septic tank for the treatment of waste water, remove all illegal attachments built on drainage channels, keep the environment clean and ensure that none of its members trade on the expressway.

While in their custody, embattled Rivers State law maker Chidi Lloyd claims he was blindfolded, battered and tortured by the Nigerian police and for that, he wants N50 billion as compensation.

His legal team made this known today after Chidi Lloyd was granted bail by a Rivers State high court. The presiding judge also ordered that the majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly should not be rearrested by the police. The casewas adjourned till August 12th.

The activities kicked off with a thanksgiving service for Chief James Ibori at the First Baptist Church Ogharefe where prayers were held and there after guest were entertained at a reception in his country home Oghara. The occasion had in attendance past and present members of the National Assembly, past and present members of Delta state house of Assembly, past and present commissioners, top politicians, traditional rulers and lots more.

A novelty match will be played in honour of Chief James Ibori on Tuesday 6th August 2013 at the Oghara township stadium built by Ibori.

New leader of the Boko haram faction that has been in negotiations with the Nigerian government appointed "Amnesty Committee "headed by a government minister yesterday declared that his team carried out the deadly Kano bombings that killed over 40 people in the Sabo-Gari area of the Kano.

The new leader, Mohammed Marwana released an audio message obtained by Saharareporters. Mr. Marwana's assertions in the audio yesterday added a new twist to the controversy surrounding the authenticity of the faction of the islamist militant group in talks with the federal government and recent claims that the old leader of the groups was deposed after he was shot. Speaking in Hausa language, Marwana said the Kano bombings was carried out to prove that he is the authentic leader of the sect because people continue to doubt him and his group of negotiators. "I personally instructed the attack in Kano to prove to the world that, I am the real leader of Boko Haram because there have been retrogressive forces on the issue of dialogue, who kept doubting my leadership in the sect.
I told them ahead that there will be attack, and it has happened. It is a warning, and we need to say again that we carried out the attacks in Kano", he said.

The man who claimed to have been appointed leader of the sect debunked speculations that the globally known leader of the sect,Imam Abubakar Shekau is dead.
Marwana stated that Shekau is alive and that nothing has happened to him except that he lost leadership of the sect. Speaking further in the audio message, he stated, "Shekau is alive contrary to speculations, except that he lost leadership of the sect. I will not tell you where he is, but he is alive, and we talked with him not up to three hours ago, except if he died while I am talking."

There has been controversy regarding authenticity of Marwana as a member of the sect and its leadership, as he was recently dismissed by Imam Shekau in a Youtube video after he claimed that the sect had agreed to cease-fire with Nigerian government. Jose Mourinho proclaimed that he is "the Happy One" on his return to Chelsea, adding that he is calmer and a better manager than he has ever been.
