Halima Buhari Sheriff, daughter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has assured that her father, if voted president, will right the wrongs facing Nigeria presently. Halima who spoke exclusively with YNaija.com while on the APC nationwide campaign trail said the ex-general “will get Nigeria out of the mess it’s in.” | Read excepts of the interview below: YNaija: What kind of dad is Gen. Buhari? Halima: He’s like every normal father, he is very realistic and he likes cracking jokes. He is very caring and also very sensitive to our feeling and you know – how we feel about a thing. He doesn’t coerce us to do anything we don’t want to do. He is a very understanding dad unlike the image of him people have externally. People say he’s a very stern, strict person but in all, he has a very soft side. YNaija: Do you have any children? I have a 7-year-old daughter, Aisha. That’s his grand daughter. YNaija: And what’s she like with her? Aw, he calls her Laraba which means Wednesday in Hausa and it’s considered a very lucky day. I had her like in the very early hours of the day so he just said, “Oh! her name is Laraba !” and he continued calling her that. He’s very caring towards his grandchildren. He plays a lot with them. He’s fond of them – gives them all sorts of funny traditional nicknames…. YNaija: So he’s running for president, can you tell us, as his daughter, what kind of president do you think he is going to be? Well, firstly, because this is a different era, it’s not 1983, not the military regime, it’s a civilian regime, a democratic regime, he will certainly be more tolerant and passionate about leading Nigeria. He’ll get Nigeria out of the mess it’s in – be it corruption, insecurity -which is making thousands of Nigerian lose their lives. It is affecting everybody in one way or the other, this is something he’s very passionate about. He will make sure he gets the job done. | http://ynaija.com/exclusive-my-dad-will-get-the-job-done-buharis-daughter-halima-speaks-to-ynaija/

Last year's news! |
Descartes:And you supported it. In this league you're more of a 'kinsman' to the perpetrator (death merchant) than the one you're addressing. |
menesheh:Whoever is tired of winning? You can only be tired of losing, not winning. |
No one knows in what land he'll die or with certainty what he'll earn tomorrow. Buhari is certainly doing something right for him to be attacked with all this ferocity. |
The All Progressives Congress (APC)Campaign Organization said it would hold the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accountable if any thing happens to its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari. The organisation made the comment in reaction to a front page wrap-around advert on Monday’s edition of some Nigerian dailies where Nigerians were asked to choose between life and death. The sponsor of the advert grouped Buhari among former Nigerian leaders who were either killed or died of natural causes while in office. “This is the height of desperate tactics by the PDP, which is capable of degenerating into unnecessary bloodshed and destruction. They are choosing death for us. This is not politics. We are therefore, asking our supporters to stay calm and be law-abiding,” a statement signed by Mallam Garba Shehu, Director of Media and Publicity of the Campaign Organisation said. “The whole world is watching and that if anything happens to General Muhammadu Buhari before, during or after the elections, under the pretext of X, Y, or Z, we shall be left with no option than to conclude that the PDP and their surrogates are to be held accountable,” it said. The statement read further that “even as a candidate, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has a duty to lead the country with responsibility up until May 29, when a new President will be inaugurated.” The organisation however appealed to members and supporters of the APC not to play into the hands of the PDP, which apparently, is looking for a way to provoke violence and hence, get “the much-needed excuse to abort this democracy before or after the elections.” | http://www.informationng.com/2015/01/pdp-will-be-held-accountable-if-any-evil-befalls-buhari-apc.html |
scribble:How do we end this problem then? If a man of 100 years put his name in the ballot, at best what you can do is to complain - the constitution does not exclude him. |
clevvermind:Tanist alert |
scribble:Yo scrib, what's the alternative? |
FreeGlobe:Baring natural death, you are suspect number one. |
I just read Keyamo's submissions. Dunno what to say more. God help us. God have pity on us. |
Empero1:Na wa oo! When Buhari mispronounced Osinbajo's name you all pounced on him. But when this one's blunders all you could say is 'he didn't claim to be a professor of English. |
LegatusGlaber:Based on what the OP wrote, I would prefer to be a friend of the other person, and all northerners will agree with him and queue behind him. And how can you be taken serious and be thought objective when you use all those bad words to describe him. |
BackDatAssUp:Then your conclusions are wrong, and any northerner will feel you're not happy as there are no riots in the North. If you have wanted to know why, you should have asked the northerners their views too, and you do that wanting to be educated. But you can't push up your stereotyped views as the most objective. |
BackDatAssUp:Just going through the sh** and was angered by your stand.. Didn't look who is OP is. Still doesn't change the fact that you're insensitive. |
BackDatAssUp:Whether you are Igbo or not doesn't matter. You were supporting what the OP wants to happen. Take your family to the North and start the riot. Wicked and heartless beings. |
LegatusGlaber:He's not all those things. Why are you wishing there'd be riot in northern Nigeria. You are shallow-minded and insensitive. |
AlfaSeltzer:Just say what you want. Don't bring your abracadabra here. |
No news/release is complete without Buhari! |
Why am I laughing? |
dre11:If he is dead, what do we do now? |
Bring him back to life. |
Kai, these people have lost all sense of proportion. |
benuejosh:I think this should put this issue to rest. A Nigerian proverb says something to the effect that 'those digging a trench for others to fall in should dig it to their neck level, in case they fall in.' |
Good day Sir. Apples don't grow in Northern Nigeria. They're mostly of the Mediterranean type of climate |
stevecantrell: |
michelz:Here comes Buhari father advising him. |
customized13:We don't know about that, but we're seeing yours. |
Okay, we dey wait oo! They said answers not abuses oo! |
These new sites that no one hears about are outdoing each other using Buhari's name to be popular. |
That picture doesn't say anything. Most people look awkward in a dress they're not used to. |
