Yes like i have always known, we have sensible intellectuals in Nigeria. Julius diamond you are one of them. What i don't understand with some sympathetic Nigerians is that; why would you trivialize certificate issue just because it's BUHARI. I was denied a job last month because i used statement of result. Meanwhile someone wants to be my president with you know the rest. And all some of us would say is even if he uses Nepa bill we will still vote for him. Then i realize Nigerians don't want improvement rather we want change even if it would be a regressive one.

What is to be done in situations where these certificates cannot be accessed?

Firstly, they said he didn't go to school, and pictures of him and classmates with their Oyibo teachers surfaced.
Then they said he didn't finish secondary school, and his classmates surfaced.
Then they said he forged his certificate (as if certificate is issued twice, and as if he can issue statement of results) not knowing statements can be issued countless times. But now that the Oyibo people are not towing Tanism, what next? Maybe his birth and marriage certificate will be next.

But how true is this?

Your statement of results is written with the current document/form available. It is certificates that will bear the the date/form or whatever of the period you finished school. And mind you, statement of results doesn't have to be original. Unlike certificates it can be re-issued.

As an example, if you finished school and for some reasons your documents cannot be accessed, you can request your former school to re-issue you a statement of result, or some covering document but not a certificate. Another example is, supposed you were an indigene of former Benue-Plateau state, and you finished your school on the Benue side before the split. For some reasons you have not collected your credentials or lost your credentials and wanted a statement of results or some representative documents from your former school. In the earlier case you may be lucky to have your certificate and statement bearing Benue-Plateau on a document of that period. In the latter case, you can only be given a statement of results bearing the current document or any form of the state you are now - in this case, the re-issued statement will bear Benue state.

I'm vowing that an illiterate, or someone who chose not to receive and education while his peers where jostling for their spots in the best schools will never rule over me in this Nigeria. How many of my class mates are today without work in a country where illiterates are given positions because of their origin and only employ their kindred regardless of certification. If GEJ applied for a job and showed his qualifications, and Buhari applied for a job and showed his qualifications, the company that hires Buhari is will be doing it for no other logical reason than his supporters are doing their propagandizing for.

There are doctorate level graduates in that same Nigerian military, and you leave the handling of advanced weapons systems to someone that can't pronounce corruption, remember his phone number, or read. Buhari when he was the Dictator of Nigeria took soldiers to the market and forced women to reduce the price of their goods by gun point. These are the actions and economic intelligence of an illiterate. I will be calling him Mr. Buhari as well.
