Good day gurus in the house. Thank you for all you do.
I am married with two kids, I still retain my maiden name till date but my kids bear the same surname as their father. All my documents and my application for SA nomination bear my maiden name (no change of name). Do I need to go ahead for a change of name to my husband's surname or I should just let the name be as it is.
Thank you for anticipated response.

You will struggle to juggle pregnancy and full time education, you are going to miss second semester and probably repeat a model..missing out on PSW as a result..think about your decision carefully.

Thank you. I appreciate your feedback.
I will just wait, deliver and suspend my application till September 2022.

Well, its possible but is it practical?

Reason is, the timeline is rather too tight. If you're due in Jan and you want to start a masters program in Jan.

Duty of care from the health people, they wont want to be put in that situation
Secondly, it just comes out as having to just want to exploit the services - theres nothing bad in that because youre technically paying IHS but if an over zealous CW picks it, they can make an issue out of nothing..

Other things to consider,
1. What support will you have after delivery (Financial and human)?
2. Hope you don't plan to work at least in the first 3 months after delivery??
3. Your school will actually excuse you (for some weeks or months) from school work if they know you've just had a baby, I'm not sure if this is mandatory.

Thank you for the prompt feedback.
I will just wait for September 2022 then, it will be much easier for me.
Thank you once again.

Like i said earlier, you need to consider the practicality of what you want.

Good morning house. I hope we are doing great.

@justwise and other gurus in the house, I need you to attend to this for me, please. I asked the question a few days ago, but I couldn't get the answer, hence my bringing it up again.

I am about to submit my application for Jan 2022 session to Salford University, however, I am in a dilemma whether to go ahead or not. The reason is that I am currently pregnant and will be due in January 2022. My concerns are:
1. Do I stand a chance of having my visa approved before November (all things being equal) to enable me to travel before I reach 36 weeks as most airlines don't allow pregnant mothers beyond 36/37weeks to board?
2. Being a new mum and attending schools, how does this work out for whoever has gone through this path before?

Please, ejoor o, kindly answer my naive question this time around.

God bless you

Good day gurus in the house. Trust everyone is doing great.
I am about to submit my application to Salford university for Jan 2022 admission, however, I have some concerns which I wish someone could kindly clear for me.
I am currently pregnant and will be due in January: my questions are as follows:
Will the admission and visa processing be done on time for me to move by the first week of December?
Are there any restrictions surrounding pregnant mothers seeking admission, visa, and schooling?
Gurus, kindly help me address these concerns.
Anyone who has gone through something similar can equally help give feedback on this.
Many thanks.
Best regards

Congratulations. It is normal and there is nothing to worry about, repeat the scan in two weeks and ensure you avoid stress at this early stage. In our own case, doctor advised my wife and I to avoid sex at the early stage. Congratulations

Thank you sir

Dear good mothers,
Good evening. I believe we are all doing fine.
kindly help me chook mouth in this report abeg.
I am 6 weeks pregnant (Last menstrual period - 6th December). I had a scan done today, though I know it is a bit early, I can't be blamed as I had been TTC since 2017, you can imagine the excitement.
To cut long story short, the scan report states thus; Cavity contains a gestational sac corresponding to 4 weeks cyesis. No fetal pole seen yet.
Suggest: Repeat scan in 2-3 weeks to reassess fetal viability.

Honestly, 2-3 weeks seems like an eternity. Has anyone gone through something similar, I need hope, I just need hope cry cry embarassed embarassed embarassed

Well done Oga Bellong. I was just confused on the number allocated to General Skilled Migration out of 160,000places.

[qquote author=bellong post=94683018]

Can you explain the part of the budget you are worried about?

Most states suspended nomination due to COVID and some recently reopened while others are still closed.[/quote]

Hello good people,
Following the budget presentation, I fear things don't look too good for offshore applicants. I stand to be corrected anyway.
I have been waiting with my 95points for 491 since August hoping for state allocation but feel a bit confused today after reading some parts of the budget.

My spouse and I were issued an islamic marriage cert during our wedding. I await your prompt response.

Thank you sir for your response. I appreciate it.

Experience4u:
Congratulations Mamabigboy, I am happy you got your 15 points from experience.

To answer your questions
1. You can go ahead as MLT, there is no disadvantage per say, only that MLT is not on MTSOL meaning you won't get 189 nomination with it. However, writing the exam is up to you. If you want to go for 189 you can prepare and write the exam, many of Medical Laboratory Scientists had taken and passed the exam so you can do it if you can devote time and prepare for the exam, it will only set you back some thousands of dollars.

2. Those are no issue. While filling your EOI, endeavour to use same details on your assessment report. Pls don't alter anything so as not to warrant unnecessary CO contacts.

Just creat your EOI and wait for July

Congratulations on your positive assessment.

1. Best you do it when you land. Just stick to the MLT for now but if you have enough money, you can go for it.
2. Just write a letter of explanation when you apply for visa. As long as you have offer letter and other documents.

Good day everyone. I hope we are good and keeping safe.
I received a scanned assessment result letter from AIMS this morning, they had earlier sent the original copy which got stuck in God knows country due to COVID19 pandemics. The outcome of my assessment fetched me 10 years 2 months experience as a Lab technician.
Thanks to everyone who answered my questions on this platform, most especially @tunlex01 and @Bellong, God bless you, I appreciate it. I will need a lot of clarifications and guidance during the course of this journey, I hope you guys will be there to put me through.
My questions now are as follows:
1.To anyone who sat for AIMS exam, was it really worth it, or I should just maintain Lab technician?
2. I have an overlap in the start&end dates of employment at two places of work. I used my terminal leave at workplace A to resume at workplace B giving an overlap of days, how do I justify this during application?
Best regards

Run a hormonal profile and start from there. After your scan on CD 13, you would have checked again on CD 16 to see if it increase or reduced. Could be you're among those that ovulate close to their period or right after. Try a scan at CD 9 or 10 and see how it goes. Could be you ovulate early too. But spotting after period is mainly due to hormonal issue except you have fibroid which is sometimes the culprit too.

Thank you ma for your prompt response.
All the scans i have done for the past two years showed I have no fibroid, no polyp, in fact I have always received results showing my pelvic organs are sonographically normal. As advised, I will go for hormonal profile.
Thank you once again.

Good evening mothers in the house
I have been trying to conceive for three years, mine is actually secondary infertility.
I noticed my cycle just went crazy since dec last year. I have been experiencing light spotting after normal period that would last till CD10/11, I had mentioned this to my gynae countless times, but he keeps assuring me I am good. I took charge of my fertility journey last month when I went for a TVS to track my follicles on CD13, to my surprise, the scan showed three follicles with the biggest measuring 6.5mm(ovulation occurs between 18-30mm). I stand to be corrected, this simply showed that I didn't ovulate. Just this evening again, AF reared her ugly head making my last cycle to last 20 days.
Dear mothers, how best do you think I need to approach this?
I await your responses.
Baby dust to all.

Good evening mothers.
I have been a silent reader in this group. Kindly come to my aid o.
I have been TTC for three years, my cycle has always been regular till last year december when I started noticing spotting after my normal menstrual flow till day 13. I had already complained this to my gynae who only placed me on antibiotics. I notice this spotting again as I am typing now, today being CD9, it is light and doesn't require the use of pad. My gynae is still reassuring me to be calm. I don't think I can be calm like this. Has anyone gone through this before, kindly advice me on the way to go.
Baby dust to us all.

Good day everyone.
I just sent my stuffs to AIMS for assessment. However, I have a little concern.
My former employment reference has finish date of feb 2018, while the current has a start date of jan 2018, the reason for this is because when I started job my current job in Jan, 2018, I was on secondment with my former employer(Hospital management board), but I was called back a couple of weeks to either resign or come back because they were experiencing shortage of personnel, I decided to resign anyway in Feb 2018 , this was the day they filled in my reference letter as finish date.
My question is this, will I be asked by AIMS to explain the reason for this discrepancy or what do I need to do?
I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Dear Elders, Please I need your contributions.
My IELTS result is out and the overall band score is 7.0, though writing is 6.5. I wish to start prep for assessment by the Australian Institute of Medical Lab science which accept a minimum of overall band score 7 irrespective of whether writing is 7 or not. I equally intend to write PTE hopefully for a better score to boost my points. Will this not be a big issue later considering that i submitted ielts to AIMS and PTE to enter the pool. Kindly advise me please. God bless.

You need to pass the professional exam before you can nominate mls. If you decide to go with just mlt, you will need a state sponsorship .

Embassy4u:

From experience, AIMS will not award you a MLS. This is due to our country factor and the way they rate some of our qualifications from Nigeria. Be rest assured they'll give you MLT in lieu of MLS with an option to further get MLS when you arrive Australia. However, this is subject to your decision afterwards.

You can assess as a Medical Laboratory Technician which is assessed by AIMS. You can check their website to see the requirements. go through www.anzscosearch.com to search for that occupation. From there you can get the link to the assessing body's site.

Note that Medical Laboratory Technician is a skill 2 occupation which is what you'll be awarded even if you file for a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

Thank you.
I wish to know the implications of being awarded med lab technician instead of scientist. Does this mean I am not eligible for subclass 189?
