Kelvinarsenal: 2.5 million naira in 2022 was a good for visa applications. The official exchange then was around 335 naira to CAD$1. The 2.5 million naira was about CAD$7500 then in year 2022. Today the value of naira is nothing to talk about. As of today, that same 2.5 million naira is less than CAD$2700 1 Like |

harmonyedu: Why can’t we just take our time and read on our own? The information you’re looking for is clearly stated on the 2nd page of the “Biometrics collection/instruction letter” you have with you. I don’t even think you know the type of visa you applied for because you were asking for both student and visitor visas. Anyway, one biometric will cover both applications. Go with your: - Travel passport and - The biometrics instructions letter

Topskid101: Their bank statements had a balance of 32 million naira (about CAD$ 33000), but their applications were still refused. This is serious. Anyway, the way visa applications are being packaged matters too. |

Dre183: Go read @zealoy original post. He said his brother paid off £25,000 while working 20 hours per week as a student. I know some students do under-the-table jobs too, but my comment was based on his post that his brother was able to pay off £25,000 in 2 years while working 20 hours a week. This is a country where most full-timers are struggling to make just £25000 to £30000 per year. Just go to a store like ASDA or Lidi and find out how much their hourly wage is for entry-level associates. I have been around for a few minutes, and I know what is going on. |

XYZJAZZY: You’re absolutely right about that. It’s all about luck and how well you packaged your application. The POF matters too. Also, I want you to remember that the official exchange rate when you submitted your application in August 2022 was N450 to $1, and tickets prices were a bit fair then. 1 Like |

Zealoy: I am not disputing your claim that your brother paid off £25k in less than 2 years while working 20 hours per week. Most jobs that are available are mostly £9 to £12 jobs. I don’t know how your brother able to payoff £25k in less than 2 years while working 20 hours per week. Let us even assumed that your brother were making £15 per hour then. In a year: £15 x 20 hours x 52 weeks = £15600 For 2 years: £15600 x 2 = £31200 You still have to factor in the income tax. He will be taxed on any money he made above £12570. 31200 - 12570 = 18630 18630 x 20% =£3726 will be his tax. 31200 - 3726 = £27474 If he was making £15 an hour then, his income less tax was £27474. So how will he be able to payoff £25000 in less than 2 years? @zealoy 8 Likes |

meljoe: Make things easy for yourself. You can put CAD$5000 - CAD$6000 for the visa application sake. You don’t want these guys to get you for insufficient fund. Accommodations are generally expensive in Canada. The hotel alone might cost you more than US$800 for the 10 days. |

Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by mamawa123: 5:10pm On Apr 04 |
meljoe: CAD$ 3175 is about US$ 2340 as of today. That might be okay for a week vacation, if you can get a cheaper plane ticket. But that Amount will not be okay for a 3-week vacation in Canada. Your budget will depend on many factors, like - The cost of the ticket - cost of hotel accommodation - Feeding - The number of days you intend to spend. - Other expenses. |
Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by mamawa123: 4:42pm On Apr 04 |
meljoe: CAD$ 2175 is way too small to cover the cost of - Round-trip tickets - Hotel accommodation - Feedings - Other traveling expenses The CAD$ 2175 is equivalent of $1600, and the cost of the ticket alone will range from US$ 1100 to $1500. How are you going to pay for hotel accommodation and feeding? Try to increase that money. |

CoronaVirusPro: Thank you for that prayer. A lot of people are living here in Nigeria that can't even show anything for it, and the same thing is happening to some people in those advanced countries too. It's everywhere, but the situation here in Nigeria is pathetic. Here you see a 40-year-old man still waiting for his mom before he can eat. It’s tough everywhere, and the truth must be told. Nigerians need to change this mentality that everyone who lives abroad is definitely rich. Living abroad doesn’t make one rich, but rather you will have access to the basic amenities that only the rich in Nigeria have access to. 2 Likes |

Islie: We always like to complain when things don't go our way. Gatwick is private business property, and they set operating policies for all airlines using that same airport. If £2 million is the initial deposit to operate through that airport, then I don't see any reason why they should bend their policy for a Nigerian chief or his business. BA and Virgin Atlantic don't have anything to do with this. Anyway, I commend him for adding this London route to his airline flying operations. |
