New portal. Applied May 18 2023. Got PPR May 26. The conference organiser wrote to the Deputy Canadian High Commiission and all so maybe that's why it was fast. But out of 8 of us, only 3 in Abuja have visas . The rest of us in the center of excellence are still waiting

Can you share the documents you included in your application

A relative who is currently in the UK as a visitor did biometrics today in London.

He discovered later that he made a mistake on the visa application.

Can he go ahead and withdraw the application today?

Will the withdrawal affect the biometrics?

So, when filling any official document
where state of origin is needed, what will
they write?

They can write the name of the state they choose as their residency.

Anyway. I think the Nigerian government needs to eradicate the issue of state of origin because, as citizens of Nigeria, we should be allowed to live, vote, and be voted for in any state.

The rate at which foreigners are nationalizing themselves to Nigeria as citizens is now alarming. I hope is this not a coy to take over power one day. Just like Indian man now British prime Minister?

A naturalized citizen cannot become a president, but any of their children born here in Nigeria can become a president or seek for political office.

British prime minister was born in UK.

They are naturalized citizens of Nigeria. They are claiming Nigeria, not one state. As a naturalized citizen, you can choose to live in any state of your choice.

Me personally, I can't work in a company without structures for time-offs, public holidays, sick leaves and due compensations for overtime when applicable.
Funny enough, it's organizations that don't pay well that would want to over work their staff.

You’re absolutely right

So where do you want the rest of us to buy fuel and provisions on public holidays if you follow us dey holiday? grin

Even though we are aware that certain companies are built to run 7 days a week or around-the-clock for 24/7, at the very least, compensate your staff with extra pay for working on holidays by giving them overtime pay.

Not giving public holidays to employees are rampant nowadays especially private companies like supermarkets, fuel stations, E-commerce etc. Working from Monday to Saturday/Sunday and when everybody is at home for the holidays, you don't have any choice than to still go to work. Is this slavery or we don't have good leadership to fight for their people.

You raised a good point. Some Nigerian employers are indeed slave masters, and this is one of the reasons they don’t want their employees to join any workforce union.

A good employer must give extra pay in the form of overtime to those employees who work on public holidays.

Our government doesn't care, and this is the reason why employers can treat employees any way they want without any consequences.

If you think police are wicked to civilians, they are terrorist to themselves

You can't resign before 20years in service

If you desert and run from duty, you would be detained and face provost for disciplinary actions

You can't marry or get pregnant until after some years in service

They all work 10 hours shift 6 days a week

It's like a cult group

.

You said a police can’t resign unless he serves for 20 years. I don’t believe that. You can resign, but your resignation must be approved before you can go.

How to answer this question correctly?

Question: What is your current country/territory of residence? If you are presently in Canada, you should select Canada?

What will the answer be? Nigeria or UK

Hi,

Sorry about this. The entire application was complex and confusing.

When you say uncle- Your mum or dad's brother? Otherwise, that is not an uncle. I'm British/Nigerian who grew up in England; married to a Nigerian and we do not refer to extended family members as uncles. I know it is common in African and Asian culture.
If truly, the man is her uncle, then his daughter is her cousin; not niece. Again, we are confusing ECOs with all our contradictory language and terms.
Your uncle is sponsoring, you are sponsoring. Why? Then suddenly, 3 months after rejection is able to sponsor herself. How did her account balance grow from 2m-3m in 3 months when her salary is 250k and is expected to spend out of it.

Please be very careful. There is absolutely no rush. My advice:

1. They should initially arrange a trip to meet elsewhere e.g. Kenya, Morocco, Rwanda etc. Places with easier reach Visas. They can then use this to set precedence as proof of family vacationing.
2. After some time, she should re apply, sponsoring herself.
3. She should include details proving that the uncle is her parent's sibling using birth certificates, family pictures from baby hood et al.
4. She needs to establish proof of guardianship of the cousin. Show letters from school, tuition fee payments and the cousin's birth certificate to show that the uncle is her dad.
5. Concerning her finances, she needs to be conscious that her salary is 250k a month and so, it could be tricky. That is less than minimum wage in the UK. This is my typical guide:
A. Do not resort to inflation, sending through large deposits within the six-month period.
B. Spend as you normally would in your personal account, leaving some each month so that is accumulated to a healthy balance.
C. Review the statement first before you indicate your income, expenditure, and budget. Make sure the annual income matches the statement income. Annual income should ideally be X2 of your 6month statement. The expenditure should also follow the same principles.
D. Budget for the trip should ideally not exceed 2 months’ income (in her case, that is 500k which can't even pay for a ticket). There is no hard and fast rule about this, but people have been rejected for a budget that was X4 their monthly income because to a conservative British ECO, it doesn't make sense that anyone would invest such capital expenditure in just a holiday and return.
E Ensure the budget covers your entire trip. Breakdown flight, accommodation, food, transport and a little bit for shopping and entertainment (not mandatory). Below is my personal basic budget guide which I came up with myself and is by no means prescriptive, but you can review, and tweak as needed. This will help guide to ensure your budget, length of trip and available balance are all in sync.
Flight- £1064
Accommodation- £50/Day (unless you’re staying with a friend or family member)
Food- £20/day
Transport- £10-15/day

Optional
Shopping- Variable
Entertainment- Variable
F I personally advise that you try to ensure that the available balance in your account is 2X the budget for the trip. Because they expect that you have funds to go back to when you get back home. So, you can use your available balance to work backwards to see the budget you have available for the trip and therefore the number of days you can afford to stay. Others have gotten their visa with a 500k balance but it’s better safe than sorry.
G There should be no unexplained deposits or large inflows. An account balance that is not in sync with monthly salary will be questioned.
H She better include proof of work, payslips, confirmation letter from the company and the leave approval letter matching the exact dates requested on the Visa. No variance. A senior manager friend of mine at multinational got rejected for that little mistake.

These are my thoughts and of course there have been exceptions to the rules, both positive and negative. All the best!

Thank you very much.

This occurred in a third-world nation where no one cared to prosecute physicians for negligence.

Expect incidents like these to persist until the government puts a stop to this nonsense and starts prosecuting these killers who called themselves doctors.
