DeepSight: Well, we definitely have a huge problem with the dismal quality of leadership. reason why I buy a part of your initial position of the colonial masters merging completely different people together. But that's not a complete reason for us to keep derailing at old age. |

DeepSight: I didnt say anything about breaking up. I said they fought wars for centuries to achieve the peace they currently have.
Life often doesnt work that way. Each people need to inculcate and imbibe their own lessons over time and arrive at their own unique solutions. Copy and paste will not resolve such deep issues. learning from people's mistakes doesn't mean u are copying hook, line and sinker. Adapting autochthonous home grown approaches might be all that is needed to make a difference. It's just unfortunate we've had leaders who think from the opposite lens of life. |

DeepSight: Was the 20th century the uncivilized age? The two boggest wars in history were in Europe in the 20th century, just 80 years ago. u made mention of the age when European nations fought wars and broke up. 18th, 19th and 20th century, most European powers have emerged. Wars were fought not for national cohesion but for global supremacy. Nations have taken shape around this time. Moreover, Nigeria shouldn't go tru this same stage. We have the benefit of peoples' history to learn from. |
TV/Movies › Re: Only People Born In 80's Will Understand by Mandate1: 11:36pm On Jul 05, 2025 |
DeepSight: Its not as simple as you try to make out. Do you know the centuries of bloody wars it took Europe to live peacefully today? And yet, the whole of Europe is not as ethnically and linguistically diverse as Nigeria alone.
There can be no development without first securing peace and security and that is a tough call when you have many disparate identities at play competing for interests.
If you know anything about the Nigerian Civil War you will understand how difficult the question of separation is. centuries of war in the uncivilised age. This is not comparable to now. The information we have now and the understanding to war and peace we know now, was never in the arsenal of the our forebears. We don't want to breakup, yet we don't want to progress. |
TV/Movies › Re: Only People Born In 80's Will Understand by Mandate1: 11:23pm On Jul 05, 2025 |
DeepSight: Not about blaming them but if you dont recognise the role they have played in keeping you backward then you dont know anything. Just look at the level of violent conflict in this country for example, where does it come from other than the careless act of lumping very different peoples, tribes and nations together by sitting down in Germany to draw colonial lines in the 19th century without any thought whatsoever for the people on ground. lumping people together is not the issue, it's what you do with the negative situation that matters. Nigeria wasn't the only country lumped together. Others worked their ass out by finding meaningful solutions to their problems. Nigeria has refused to change, all thanks to our docile and tribalistic citizens. If we can't unite as one country, are we forced to remain together? |

oglalasioux: After seeing all these developments over the years we still resent and hate the white men that, through nothing but inspiration and hard work, gave us all these things. Agreed that white men where brutal during colonial times, it should be given to them for practically changing the world positively. only an unserious person still blames the whites. Since 1960 till date, we have been ruling ourselves, what have we achieved? The whites would have transformed this country if they were here. |

The Lamborghini speed rate at 250Km per hour is like 100km/h for the ordinary car.
Speeding at night when you can't see all the bend is a risk for anyone.
Reason why Formula One Sport is not a Night Sport.
However, he must have been driving faster to catch the ferry early enough to get to Plymouth enroute Liverpool.
Unfortunately, a mistake has cost the brothers and worst for the same family.
Only God can console the Parents now 😭😭 I agree with you. The night driving was the cause. If it were to be day with a clear vision, it'd be better. |

How càn Players play from August to June, only for you to deny them the usual July rest??
This is cruelty. Only after profit and money at the detriment of Player's health. Expect so many injuries next season and also during the National World Cup. CWC is a nice devt. I think the spread of the normal leagues should be reduced. Rather than have them play for 9-10months, the regular leagues should be reduced to max of 7-8months. |

Whenever he's brought in, the attack immediately goes flat. He's the reason why Jackson lasted that long at Chelsea because he's not a replacement. He should go and never be allowed to even take his Jersey. Nkunku's lengthy injury is his problem. He's scared of another major injury |

God1000: According to one report, US and Iranian officials were due to meet two days before Israel launched the unprovoked attack against Iran killing its generals and civilians
They lied about irag, they lied about Libya, and now they are telling us the Same lies about Iran
With this strike, Iran will speed up the process of building nuclear bomb or they will simply get from their allies it's funny how you think USA did not approve the strike. The script you're seeing currently is a well calculated plan to destroy Iran nuclear arsenal. Iran is not ready to let go her nuclear ambition. Just buying time to develop what they are hoping for. |

God1000: I fully support Iran and whatever response from them, Donald trump is so foolish for bombing Iran just to please Israel, now US military bases and embassies across the middle east will be targeted.
Iran was ready to negotiate with the trump administration before Netanyahu started this madness just to sabotage everything and drag america into his war, Donald trump not being a smart leader fell for it.
I'm tired of western hypocrisy, they cause chaos all over the world and pretend to have moral superiority over other cultures. which ÌRAN was ready to negotiate? Iran won't negotiate anything. They will keep shifting the goal post till the actual nuclear weapon is developed. America is never scared of an attack on its bases. The bases are there for periods like this. |

Now, Governor Sanwo-Olu is joining the prayer and praying the Islamic way.
What a way to show true repentance and prove your loyalty but this means nothing anyways. As a christian, we do invite our Muslim neighbours to child dedication in church and they do join us in church activities. When it becomes a problem is if he revisits the mosque again and again, or possibly renounce his faith. |

Abuja was empty before 1992. Today, it's one of the most developed places in Nigeria, all thanks to the FCT. |
Politics › Re: VAT: What States Generated And What They Received In Q1, 2025 by Mandate1: 1:35pm On Jun 18, 2025 |
hakeemhakeem: Every state can't have port just like every state can't crude oil, gold and land for planting even human capital,so don't expect state to generate equal revenue reasons while the index you saw in the sharing formula.Do you think people just brought their businesses to Lagos NO it's because it has business value and you will never see a large commercial agriculture to set their farm in Lagos like in other states or are you expecting shell/Chevron to drills crude oil from state that doesn't have oil I'm glad you know this. Nigeria is a federation that has adopted the formula of going to the center to collect handouts every month. Mind you, the govt investment strategy since 1918 till date has favoured LAGOS. If Lagos weren't the capital during that period, I'm sure it won't have gotten the massive FG investment it got. So for me, Nigeria needs to manage the current sharing formula until most states catch-up, otherwise we might be creating unhealthy rivalry in the system. If you make Bornu the capital of Nigeria, in few years time, you'd witness massive development. This is my point. |

Is there any state in Nigeria that has functional port for import and export of goods in Nigeria aside Lagos? Lagos was the capital of Nigeria from 1918-1992, and you expect other states to catchup? Tell me any other state in Nigeria that has the number of FG roads as compared to Lagos? So tell me how you expect other states to be at par in revenue generation as Lagos? You have people from different tribes in Nigeria residing and doing business in Nigeria, yet u want the revenue generated from Lagos, which was built with FG money to remain in Lagos. Funny. Nigerians are waiting for FG tax reform bill |

Abaziaka: Tax reform is inevitable some states need to work on their internal genrerated evenue what has the govt contributed to other states to enable them generate that competitive VAT? You concentrate all govt investment in Lagos and expect other states you do nothing for to perform magic. How can Lagos house all the major ports in Nigeria? How's Lagos housing the headquarters of almost all big businesses in Nigeria, even when they don't produce anything in Lagos? Your answer to this will solve this puzzle. |
