Is owerri the only part of Imo state?

Gov. Rocha and his crowd including Abagworo have made Owerri the only part of Imo state.


It suits their taste.

Rocha has all his businesses, including hotels and living palace only in Owerri. So he is hurrying to make Owerri a New York at the expense of infrastructure in the other 26 LGas in Imo state. Rocha, what a politician without tact.!!!!


Abagworo shall tell us Rocha is dualizing Owerri-Orlu road. A road to connect to Rochas Ideato home, of course.

But Orlu's economy has been deliberately wrecked, hacked to near death by Rochas administration, as Rochas government scratched away the surfaces of very important roads in Orlu and abandoned them in the last four years.

All establishments that bring money to Orlu have been stifled in the last four years, so what's the dual carriage way meant for?

If Buhari wants people to take him serious, he needs to probe IBB, Abdusallam, Obasanjo, Yar-Adua administrations as well as Jonathan's.

Rochas needs to step up his game. I dnt like d fact that he's neglecting other areas in Imo state while concentrating on owerri municipal alone. Imagine siting an international conference centre on d beasy road of way house wen he cud ve done dat at oguta, okigwe or orlu.

You don't mention Oguta, Orlu, Okigwe and the other LGAs outside Owerri before Rochas.
It is like mentioning hell before someone who wants heaven.
Rochas' level of education tells him that once a state is created, the state capital is for development, the other areas of the state can be taken over by flood.

If Rochas had located Ikemba or Hero's Square in Ahiara, Mbaise, it would have made more meaning.

They know the truth but placed Jonathan over their brother. This whole issue is about Okorocha's refusal to support Jonathan's re-election. Up till this day they still believe Jonathan built 2nd Niger bridge, dredged River Niger, built a seaport at Onitsha and built new terminal/runway at Enugu Airport.

No body cares Okorocha building his dream city, Owerri. But before economic activity is finally ground to a halt in Orlu, people in Orlu want him to restore the roads his contractors scrapped, the sports stadium, and complete the drainage system. By the time he leaves as governor, Orlu shall pick up development again.

The sports stadium is dismantled,

the Imo stated university teaching hospital which is the only project Imo state has in Orlu is hardly functioning, it may not admit fresh students onward, no road leading to it

the international market is most major employer here, but roads leading to the market are all non motorable.

It's deceptive to say Okorocha is from Orlu.

Only in Owerri zone. This man is deliberately ignoring the other two pillars of Imo. Orlu zone is in shambles already.

In Orlu, Okorocha is seeing double, he sees enemies in Orlu who do not even see him as an enemy.

Okorocha is like a president who deploys the country's resources to build fancy things in Abuja only, while Lagos, Kano, Portharcourt, etc.cities in Nigeria are going under the drain.

By the time next three years Okorocha stands down as governor of Imo state, he shall know the damage he has done to his politics and Imo state.

Two months ago. Okorocha's deputy stated in vanguard online interview that Okorocha spent 75% of whatever development infrastructure he made in four years in the state capital, Owerri alone.

In the history of Imo state, no governor has destroyed what predecessor governments built without replacement, like Rochas Okorocha government has been doing to his enemies territories.
Unfortunately, the youths in his enemies territories contributed highest number of votes to Rochas Okorocha.

How come Okorocha destroyed a sports stadium, scrapped roads built in his enemies territories?

In modern societies, rail transport is fast overtaking road transport. Hopefully Nigeria is not moving back under APC, as talk now in APC is about roads, no more rails.

It's living in denial believing that an Abuja-based Ministry of Works, Power and Housing can oversee the functioning of the entire federal roads and houses and electricity supply in the entire length and breath of Nigeria.

It's living in denial to continue to believe in unitary government system with Abuja acting as Tax collector and overseeing the upkeep of Nigeria.

Return to regional government system with fiscal federalism, else Fashola shall end up like his predecessors.

If as little as 20% of population of Imo citizens venture into settling in Owerri, as government denies provision of social infrastructure outside Owerri these days, the city of Owerri shall soon become a dumping ground - slum city.

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has expressed delight at the on-going 34th edition of annual Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) tagged ‘Imo 2015’ in Owerri, Imo State’s capital, saying the competition will boost the local economy of the state.

Speaking to newsmen after declaring the games open at the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri, he said the state has made history as the first Eastern state to host the annual games.

“This is the first time FEPSGA is being hosted in the south-east, 34 years of the games. We are proud to be the first from this part of the world to host the games.

“We are expecting not less than 10, 000 participants and most of them will spend little money for calls, transportation, accommodation, feeding and so on, and this will help boost our local economy,” he stated.

According to the governor, by hosting the 34th edition of the public service games, Imo State is by implication hosting the unity of the country through sports, assuring the organisers that the state is willing to host the next edition of the championship in 2016.

“It is a source of unity, seeing people from different part of the country coming to Imo State to relax, interact and have fun together. It is a show of love and unity and this is good for our nation at this particular time of our life as a nation.

‘This is a good development which is aimed at keeping civil servants in the state fit and healthy and we are willing to host the next edition again.”

Speaking earlier, the president of FEPSGA, Comrade Hassan Dahiru, commended the state government and the good people of Imo State for their hospitality, saying the federation had settled for Imo State of the staging of the 2015 edition of the game because of the memorable stories about state’s feats in tourism, sports facilities, security network and hospitality.

He commended Governor Okorocha for accepting to host the games, and providing the enabling environment for the successful hosting of games.

The governor was also honour and decorated as an icon of sports and Goodwill Ambassador of FEPSGA.

I agree with you on this. Okorocha was pressurised into embarking on flyover that could have been replaced by cheaper roundabout. The money could have been used for other needs but I have a strong belief your type will stilll find fault if he used it for the Umuna flood control.

My friend, no governor worth the name can sit down and watch the havoc which that Umuna flood is doing in Orlu, and not complete the channelling of flood away as designed by his predecessors.

Okorocha is demonstrating that he has a heart of stone regarding the type of punishment he is dishing out to Orlu and environs.

Where is Ujoatu? You people believe that flyover is mark of urbanization. Flyover is rather an obstructive and very expensive project no trained town planner can do unless there's no room for roundabout.

Okorochs is now building flyover for Owerri to satisfy your clannish demands for fly over at the expense of other parts of Imo state being washed away by preventable rain floods.
