Nairaland / General / Re: Oando Plc Reveal Parties Behind The Petitions To SEC by manie(m): 5:29pm On Aug 29, 2017
If it is true that Wale got over 1 billion dollars from those guys in order to fund the COP deal.

http://saharareporters.com/2017/07/15/nigerian-oil-company-oando-under-probe-nigeria%E2%80%99s-securities-and-exchange-commission

1. Has Wale returned the money with interest.
2. Did he allocate shares to those guys.
3. If yes what is the quantity of shares allocated to those guys.
4. What valuation methods did he use in allocating shares to them.

We all know that when the COP deal was consummated oando was selling for less than N30.

What those aggrieved investors want, is that they want a say in the running of the business so that they can get quick return on their investment.
Wale and those guys are fighting for the soul of Oando.

Wale wants investors money and yet he wants to maintain absolute control.

Dangote would not have fallen for the sales pitch which Wale used in get funds from the aggrieved investors/shareholders.

The last is yet to be heard about this issue. SEC is yet to make any pronouncement, we have only being hearing from Oando because they have access to the press.

Beware of CEOs who crave unnecessary publicity and media hype.

Google " corporate misgovernance and management recklessness" by Emmanuel Ewumi. You will realise that Oando's problems did not start today.

Infinitisi:
THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF THE MARKET

Dow Theory suggests the markets are made up of three distinct phases, which are self repeating. These are called the Accumulation phase, the Mark up phase, and the Distribution phase.
The Accumulation phase usually occurs right afer a steep sell off in the market. The steep sell off in the markets would have frustrated many market participants, losing hope of any sort of up- trend in prices. The stock prices would have plummeted to rock bottom valuations, but the buy- ers would still be hesitant of buying fearing there could be another sell off. Hence the stock price languishes at low levels. This is when the ‘Smart Money’ enters the market.
Smart money is usually the institutional investors who invest from a long term perspective. They invariably seek value investments which is available afer a steep sell off. Institutional investors start to acquire shares regularly, in large quantities over an extended period of time. This is what makes up an accumulation phase. This also means that the sellers who are trying to sell during the accumulation phase will easily find buyers, and therefore the prices do not decline further. Hence invariably the accumulation phase marks the bottom of the markets. More ofen than not, this is how the support levels are created. Accumulation phase can last up to several months.
Once the institutional investors (smart money) absorb all the available stocks, short term traders sense the occurrence of a support. This usually coincides with improved business sentiment. These factors tend to take the stock price higher. This is called the mark up phase. During the Mark up phase, the stock price rallies quickly and sharply. The most important feature of the mark up phase is the speed. Because the rally is quick, the public at large is lef out of the rally.
New investors are mesmerized by the return and everyone from the analysts to the public see higher levels ahead.
Finally when the stock price reaches new highs (52 week high, all time high) everyone around would be talking about the stock market. The news reports turn optimistic, business environ- ment suddenly appears vibrant, and everyone one (public) wants to invest in the markets. The public by and large, wants to get involved in the markets as there is a positive sentiment. This is when the distribution phase occurs.
The judicious investors (smart investors) who got in early (during the accumulation phase) will start offloading their shares slowly. The public will absorb all the volumes off loaded by the insti- tutional investors (smart money) there by giving them the well needed price support. The distri- bution phase has similar price properties as that of the accumulation phase. In the distribution phase, whenever the prices attempt to go higher, the smart money off loads their holdings. Over a period of time this action repeats several times and thus the resistance level is created.
Finally when the institutional investors (smart money) completely sell off their holdings, there would no further support for prices, and hence what follows afer the distribution phase is a com- plete sell off in the markets, also known as the mark down of prices. The selloff in the market leaves the public in an utter state of frustration.
Completing the circle, what follows the selloff phase is a fresh round of accumulation phase, and the whole cycle repeats again. It is believed that that entire cycle from accumulation phase to the selloff spans over a few years. It is important to note that no two market cycles are the same.

Anybody who has been in this market long enough would recognise this.

I think we are approaching the mark up stage.

Which means they're inventing better and better means to produce profitably at lower and lower market prices.

You understand perfectly the problem.
Which means the loonng term destination of crude is southish.

In the short term however, and for we Oando/Seplat jijoists, $60 crude oil is certainly far better than $40+.

Don't you think that cheaper energy, gas and oil is good for global economy.

Did you say $100 per barrel? I think that is impossible for now.

By the time oil starts selling for $60 per barrel the shale guys will start production.

The effects of shale oil production used to be felt 14 days after a major rally in oil prices, but now due to technological breakthroughs and innovations it takes about 4 days to feel the impacts of shale production.

Why stanbic ibtc, there are lots of stock brokering houses for retail investors like you, but if you must open an account with Stanbic Ibtc all you need do is to call their customer service and make sure you have a minimum of N5 million in cash or shares.

Stanbic Ibtc, FSDH securities, Rencap Securities and FBN Securities all require a minimum of N5 million.

Please those that have used FBN recently, are customers now allowed to specify their own rate? contrary to the old pattern of compelling customers to go with the bank rate?

Fbn will not allow you to specify your rate, but there is 95% probability that their rate will be successful

This is the current situation in the country. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/11/prices-goods-services-hit-time-high-October/

Lets accept the fact and realize that we have to look for other medium to make some cash. Prices of food stuff is on the rocket high while earnings is reducing.

This is time to think outside the box and grab the little opportunity around.

Like i said yesterday, a lot of movers and shakers in the stock market are pulling out their funds as the economy is no longer favorable. It is high time people, it is high time.

Real investors do not rely on the stock market alone. We have the money market, real estate, small businesses, entrepreneurship, bond etc

Hope to buy some stocks at cheaper prices around December.
