What type of agreements are our corporate managers signing on behalf of themselves and the companies they are managing.

You control the board, you are earning your technical services fees, some of the contracts may also be awarded to him or his companies, yet you want 2% of the profit before tax to be channeled through your NGO and Foundation.

Is it a bad idea for Afriland to have her own Foundation, or send her donations to NGOs that do not have dealings with the firm and the managers?

Does it mean that some of our corporate managers have not heard of conflict of interest?

Just going through the 2105 financial report of AFRILAND and found out that administrative expenses, which is more like the security votes of top management went down by about 35%.

We can not afford to keep quite, let us talk and speak our minds, perhaps God may use that to touch the minds of our corporate managers.

The AGM came down from N114 million in 2014 to N68 million in 2015

Consultancy fees came down from N32 million in 2014 to N10 million.

Donations came down from N85 million to N8.5 million, NB about 90% of the donations went to the Foundation and NGO of the oga at the top.

Technical service fees went down from N121 million in 2014 to N110 million in 2015.

In all administrative expenses went down from N1 billion in 2014 to N652 million in 2015.

A lot needs to be done by management towards creating wealth for shareholders, but I think a journey of a 1000 mile starts with a step

I'm really not gonna bore you with how the whole interview went but it actually was going well until I was asked to give my facebook Id....

Considering how the hr was enjoying my response to his questions, I happily told him my facebook Id. Putting the name in the facebook search box, nothing of such was shown, he(hr) then said I shld spell it and I did that without a second thought(I never knew customising a facebook id is a job seeking crime). After spelling daniel omoniyi(not real name) as dhaniehl homohniyhi, the man said " I'm so sorry, we can't hire you".
I was so confused that I had to ask him why, and he said " your facebook id look unserious and fake, please use the door".

This is one of the little things we job seekers do not pay much attention to. If someone had opened that account for me, perhaps I will be looking for a way to kill the person now.

Still trying to get over losing a job over "just" a facebook Id.

Lesson learnt anywaiz.

http://nairametrics.com/alert-oando-confirms-its-auditors-have-issues-with-its-financials/

Oando Nigeria Plc issued a press release last week that it will not be able to release its 2015 Annual Reports on schedule because of a clause in Rule 5 of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

The Management of Oando PLC would like to advise our valued shareholders, key stakeholders, and wider investor community that from available indications we are unlikely to complete our 2015 audit and issue our audited accounts on 31 March, 2016, as required by The NSE Rules (the Rules). We have worked diligently with our external auditor, Ernst & Young (“EY”) to ensure a swift conclusion to the audit process. However, after reviewing the financials, EY indicated that the Accounts may likely need to be referred to the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (“FRC”) pursuant to Rule 5 of the recently publicised FRC Rules. We expect the process to be concluded on or before 31 May, 2016, however this is dependent on the completion of the external review process as referred to above.

Hi Guys,

I'm in need of Equity Assurance Plc shares in very large quantity - from 1 million units and above.

If you have below 1 million units, depending on the location of the shares and the logistics, then we might deal.

Take this offer and opportunity of a life time to offload and cash in.

Please call me on 08166621418.

The person who wanted to buy was Kaboninc and the seller was edwardaigb.

That is why some of us do not invest in penny stock for the sake of being penny stocks, but for the sake of the fundamentals, liquidity, growth potential and managerial competence.

There is a difference between trading with a credible house and trading with one of the big houses. A credible house may not be big, but a big house is usually credible.

You can't pledge that stock as a collateral and considering the quantity, going lower than 30k is best.

Here's the reason.

As soon as a majority shareholder gets in or a prospective investor shows promising interest, they'all reconstruct the shares for on a mediocre basis. The new price will then be listed and traded. If you still don't sell, you'll watch before your eyes how the price will go down.

I've sold 2.7mill @ 0.30k and it was in the same broking firm. Not to talk of less than 600k domiciled in another broking firm.
Just trying to encourage him to keep hope alive.

I thought you wanted to buy, why are you talking about selling 2.7 million units of Equity Assurance

If you really need money, you have to come down to N0.10. If I may ask is that the only stock in your portfolio, sell the liquid ones and use the money made for what you want.

What is the difference between crossing and selling, I guess i do not understand you. Pledge your stock as a collateral and get a loan, if you have anybody that wants to buy your Equity Assurance for 50k per you better grab the opportunity.

I understand your point

Nestle (-1.43%) 10N
NB (-3.6%) 3.8N

The percentage loss in NB is more than NESTLE. But the volume loss in NESTLE will hurt any portfolio.

A 5% loss in FCMB and FBNH won't move me much. But 2.5% loss in Seplat or NESTLE will drive me crazy.

Just check the price decline in NESTLE vs FBNH from last year.

You will understand why most penny stocks are better
i still do not get you. The price of 1 Nestle stock is about N700, while the price of some penny stock is 70k.

1 Nestle stock has the same value with about 1000 penny stocks.

5% loss in price of Nestle and 5% loss in price of the penny stock is the same, the value of both stocks will be the same after the 5% depreciation in their prices.

Eventhough 5% loss in Nestle stock is N35 and 5% loss in the penny stock is 3.5k
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by manie(m):
OBAGADAFFI:
Yes o.

Penny stocks are the real deal now. And the are safer than the priced stock, cos the risks are low.

Imagine Nestle losing as much as 10N on floor
You look at the loss in terms of percentage Nestle losing N35 is about 5% loss, but a N5.00 stock losing just 50k is a 10% loss. That means the N5 stock lost more in terms of value and percentage.

This is not news to those who have been following developments right from when the crude oil price shock. Yours truly have also raised awareness on this forum to prepare the minds of people of what lies ahead.

This is my fear also for FBNH. I expect the value of loans in such similar category to be far higher than what fidelity has reported. This is because judging by the deep involvement of the former in oil and gas deals as lender with the biggest tickets in most of the financing arrangement, earnings is expected to go south and a swelling NPL dotting the landscape of its SFP..I can count like minimum of 3 big deals it participated in and had the highest exposure.

We are watching.
Thanks for the insight, it is not enough to keep on praying or singing " we are making money this year", we need to be informed about the fundamentals behind the stocks we are investing in and be knowledgeable about the relevant news and information about our companies.

So that how my sweet mother called me and gosh am using a phantom 5, you know how crazy the speaker of that phone can be especially when a place is that quiet, nothing else was sounding except my lecturer and my phone.

As the call came in i heard "EMERGENCY EMERGENCY THEY NEVER SAW ME COING THROUGH" immediately i knew it was over cause the leacturer could trace wia the unique sound was coming from and he asked me to come out wit the phone.. and i told him i was sorry that it was my mum that called, then agreely he asked me to go back to my seat but i should see him in his office after the class.

then when i got to see him in is office, he was like dont let that rubbish that happened today happen again ooo, and i was like yes sir, then he funnyly(if dia is any english like that) asked me what the name of the phone, i told him it is a TECNO PHANTOM 5 sir and he said are you serious? i said yes sir, he said what are the specs and i showed him all the specs.

My lecturer was surprised, he was like a china phone with all this good qualities, he then asked me for the price and i told him 82,000 lol, immediately he transfered the sum of #82,000 to my account to get it for him berore coming to class the next day..

And hope you people not thinking that am a theif sha lol.. the phone is 62k in 3cHub at ikeja, so 82000 - 62000 = #20,000 messelinius lol...
I pray he never finds out, so i will not end up getting an extra year lol
