There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari has concluded plans to slash his own salary and also reduce the budget of the state house,PUNCH reports.
This is in fulfillment of the president's campaign promise to Nigerians,the report said,adding that salaries of his aides and associates will also be reduced.
It is believed that Buhari expects vice president Yemi Osinbajo and other political office holders to follow suit.
The presidential Air fleet will also be reduced.
The percentage of the budget to be slashed however wasn't mentioned.
It is believed that the president won't appoint more than 15 advisers, all in order to reduce the cost of governance.

The Police in Borno said five persons died when a suicide bomber attacked an abattoir in Maiduguri on Tuesday.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Aderemi Opadokun, stated this when he spoke with journalists in Maiduguri.
Mr. Opadokun said the attack occurred at about 11.30 a.m.
“A suicide bomber, who was shouting “Sai Buhari”, and dancing in the abattoir, detonated Improvised Explosive Device strapped on his body when people had gathered around him.
“Five people, including himself, died, while eight others sustained injuries,” he said.
Mr. Opadokun added that policemen were mobilised to the scene to evacuate the corpses and the convey the injured to the hospital, adding that investigation into the blast was ongoing.

A Jordanian doctor left his cell phone inside a woman's abdomen after she underwent a C-section, according to reports.
Hanan Mahmoud Abdul Karim claims the gadget was dropped inside her as she gave birth to a 10-pound baby boy at a private Amman hospital on April 24,reports IB Times.
The 36-year-old alleges she only discovered what had happened after she was discharged,arrived home and the device started vibrating.
"My daughter suffered serious pains and could not move,"her mother Majeda Abdul Hamid told Gulf News Jordan.
"I brought her back to the hospital where she was treated but nothing was done for her," she added.
Hanan was then taken to Al Bashir public hospital,where X-rays revealed the cellphone lodged in her abdomen.
