Trump Claims Iran War Will Be Over In 'Two Weeks', Says Oil Prices To Crash Afterwards

President Donald Trump has said that the United States could bring down global oil prices by disengaging from Iran, suggesting his administration would soon withdraw from the country.

Speaking in response to a question by journalists in White House on how his leadership would address rising oil prices, Trump argued that a US exit from Iran would have an immediate impact on the market.

"All we have to do is to leave Iran and we would be doing that very soon and they will become tumbling down."

He also linked his position to broader security concerns, referencing tensions over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and justifying past military actions.

"Stock prices were up almost a record, I said to the American people it's time we make a detour because we have a mad man who wants nuclear weapon. If we did not knock him out with a B2-bomber, we would have had a nuclear weapon that would have been used before this, before today."

Trump suggested that failure to act decisively could have led to catastrophic consequences, insisting that his approach prevented a potential nuclear threat.

"You would not be standing there asking that question. I would say that within two or three weeks we will leave."

His remarks come amid heightened geopolitical tensions involving Iran and ongoing debates over US foreign policy in the Middle-East, particularly around military involvement and its effect on global energy markets.

On Monday, Trump openly threatened to seize Iran’s oil resources, declaring that taking control of the country’s crude exports is his preferred course of action.

Speaking in an interview with the Financial Times, Trump said Sunday that he would like to "take the oil in Iran" and is considering targeting the strategic export hub of Kharg Island, which is responsible for more than 90% of Iran's oil exports.

In some of his most direct remarks on the issue, Trump said his "preference would be to take the oil."

"To be honest with you, my favorite thing is to take the oil in Iran but some stupid people back in the U.S. say: ‘Why are you doing that?’ But they’re stupid people," he said.

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, and the Custos of the Holy Land, the Most Reverend Fr. Francesco Ielpo, were prevented by Israeli Police from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem this morning, the Latin Patriarchate announced in a joint press release with the Custody of the Holy Land.

The leaders, who were on their way to celebrate the Palm Sunday Mass, “were stopped en route, while proceeding privately and without any characteristics of a procession or ceremonial act, and were compelled to turn back,” the statement said.

As a result, and for the first time in centuries, the Heads of the Church were prevented from celebrating the Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.”

The press release described the incident as “a grave precedent, and disregard[ing] the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem.”

It noted that the Church authorities “have acted with full responsibility and, since the outset of the war, have complied with all imposed restrictions: public gatherings were cancelled, attendance was prohibited, and arrangements were made to broadcast the celebrations to hundreds of millions of faithful worldwide, who, during these days of Easter, turn their eyes to Jerusalem and to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.”

The statement condemned the police action as “a manifestly unreasonable and grossly disproportionate measure,” adding that the decision was “hasty and fundamentally flawed decision, tainted by improper considerations” and represented “an extreme departure from basic principles of reasonableness, freedom of worship, and respect for the Status Quo.”

Expressing their disappointment, the Latin Patriarchate and Custody of the Holy Land said, “We express our profound sorrow to the Christian faithful in the Holy Land and throughout the world that prayer on one of the most sacred days of the Christian calendar has thus been prevented.”

A lot of myths about US defence superiority are being bursted by the ongoing war in Iran. An F-35 being brought down by an Iranian missile was unfathomable days back, according to military firepower experts. Not just that, an Iranian missile also struck Diego Garcia, an island military base used by both the US and the UK 4 k miles away from Tehran and deep into the Indian Ocean. What this war has done is that it has exposed Iranians impressive missile and drone advancements, as well as its combat readiness. Contrast this with Israel always hiding behind the US coat tails when attacking Iran like a frightened child hiding under his mother's dress.

I’m rooting for Iran. I love the US but when there’s injustice, I can’t be swayed by my love for one party and not tell the truth.

Iran has been on their own for decades, they were even in the middle of negotiations with the US but were stabbed in the back twice!!!

That’s just plain wrong and I can’t stand for it.

Iran pose no imminent threat to the US because they have no nuclear weapons, they were even negotiating… if we are looking at those that pose a threat to the US, North Korea and Russia are at the top of that list, so why didn’t the US go for them? Your guess is as good as mine.

Instead of these countries to condemn the illegal war by Isreal/US… they are busy faulting Irans right to self defense.

The most hypocritical ones are those Gulf states, you allowed US to hit Iran from your own country then cry foul when Iran sends a missile back to where the attack came from.

People will say I’m wrong but let’s call a spade a spade.

I can’t love Mama Nkechi as my neighbor when she allows Aunty Susan to come into her house and then start to distrupt the peace the entire compound has been enjoying, Aunty Susan will spill red oil in front of my door, beat my kids when I’m not home and also push my clothes off the line. I won’t sit back and let such happen because i “love” my Neighbor. Mind you, Mama Nkechi has never for one day cautioned her visitor Aunty Susan.

So by your logic, I should just fold my hands and watch Aunty Susan oppress me under the umbrella of my lovely neighbor? Even the US won’t let that happen.

Actions have reactions and consequences.

Those that want to pass the strait of Hormuz can do that as long as they aren’t US and Isreal, the aggressors.

(Remember, before this illegal war started, even under heavy sanctions by the US for decades!! Iran has never interrupted or even collected toll fee from ships that pass through the strait.)
