Which type of bank statement did you use in the first instance. Is is MyBankStatement of Normal printout? OBANLABAMIDELE2: Hello good morning everyone, Please my bank statement was printed on the 10th of September and I submitted my Visa application on the 2nd of October and did my biometrics on the 16th of October. Till yesterday that I go a mail for NSE which they said if I don't submit the required documents before 17 the of December that the will go on with making decisions on application and processing it accordingly and what they required for is my bank statement again and IELTS score. so my question is hope my Visa application will not have issues or any problem because of account statement because when it is September 10th i printed it and apply October 2ñd, that means my bank statement will be 3month by 10th of December from the day I printed it hope it will have any issues and also I can send them a webform to continue my application in the normal processing. Do the Canadian embassy really call the bank to confirm the money in the account. Thanks. |

I had similar experience at FCMB, my account officer didnt know about it.Customer care said they have not started but based on available info, i knew the mybankstatement service has started. I called the hq customer service and it was done for me on phone. But for GTBank and others, u can seemlessly generate it from mobile app.In summary, call you bank customer care line and be ready with info about the period of time that the bank statement should cover. It shall end in praise! 1oak: Thanks for the reply. Please how do I generate Mybankstatement from Ecobank and Zenith bank in my area don’t seem to know what it is when I walked in. 1st you need to be sure that the cheaper course you want to select aligns with your education/career background and it represents a career progression. 2ndly, You would likely be asked to apply afresh for the new course. All in all, mail them explaining your intentions, they will guide you accordingly Sharonyeah: Hello, please can someone help me out I applied to Centennial college for Global business Management, May 2021. I got a mail back that I had to pay a deposit before I could get an acceptance letter. After going through the tuition fees breakdown the school sent to me, I realized that there are cheaper courses I could take in the same school. I wanted to ask if it’d be wise to send a mail to Centennial College that I would like to change my course.
Yes, you can go ahead and ask for a change of course but please give them good reason for requesting for a change. I did the same.
Also, yes. I paid initial deposit of 2650cad before my acceptance letter was given. |

*For people who keep asking the steps for PR, Kindly read this*
What is a step by step procedure for Canada express entry?
Step 1: Take IELTS and attain CLB 9 (viz: band score of 8777 in LRWS)
CLB 9 gives candidates additional language points boost of 50–60 points. If you are able to reach the score of 440+ without CLB 9, that is fine too.
Cost - Approx 200 CAD every time you take IELTS.
Step 2: Get your ECA done (6–8 weeks)
ECA is Education Credential Assessment. It is done by multiple organisations (WES one of them) and provides you the Canadian equivalent degree assessment of your native country education.
Cost - Approx 285 CAD. (200 CAD Fee + 85 CAD International Result Delivery)
Step 3: Create EE profile on CIC website with your attained IELTS score and ECA
Making a profile enters you in the pool of candidates waiting for the ITA (Invitation to Apply). Make sure all the information mentioned in the profile is accurate as you will be asked to provide proof of all that information once you are selected.
Cost - 0
Step 4: Wait for the draw to reach your score and receive ITA afterwards
The ROI (Rounds of Invidation) happens every 3–4 weeks. The Canadian govt declares the min cut off score of the EE profile and all the candidates having that score or score more than it will get ITA. The score varies and is tweaked to meet the usual 2800–3000 applicants quota per ROI.
Cost - 0
Step 5: Post ITA, you get 2 months to submit your documents
After candidates receive ITA, they are suppose to provide documents and proofs of all the information mentioned in their profile along with few others. The documents/information needed from the candidates are:
Scan of Travel Document (Passport) of all applicants Digital Photograph of all applicants Proof of Employment of primary applicant Proof of Funds of primary applicant Proof of Medical of all applicants Proof of Education & IELTS of all applicants Police Clearance Certificate (From all countries where you have resided for 6 months or more) of all applicants Cost varies as Medical cost, PCC fees, Notarization fees etc varies on location. Ideally, all expenses should be covered within 300–350 CAD per applicant.
Step 6: Submit documents, pay Immigration Fee and wait for the PPR (PassPort Request - For stamping)
After submitting the documents and paying the Immigration fees, the Canadian Immigration officers verifies the documents and information provided. This generally takes 2–4 months depending on the application type, countries a person has resided in and most importantly, the immigration visa office where the application has been sent for processing and how much application backlog is there.
New Delhi visa office is infamous for taking usually 4 months to process and verify the submitted documents, sometimes even more!
Cost - 1050 CAD x No. of Applicants in the application
Step 7: PPR received. Submit Passport and get Canada CoPR (Confirmation of PR)
Once the documents are verified, candidates are intimated about the result of their application via mail. On successful processing, candidates are required to submit the passports of all the applicants for the Visa Stamping and CoPR. Passport is being sent by VFS Global and would cost around30 CAD per passport. The stamped passport are returned to the designated address within 2 weeks along with 2 copies of CoPR.
Cost - Approx 30 CAD x No. of Applicants
Step 8: Reach Canada on CoPR and apply for PR card
Applicants are suppose to travel to Canada within the tenure mentioned on the passport. The tenure is generally till the time passport is valid or till medical proof is valid, whichever is earlier. In any case, visa will not be for more than 1 year.
Applicants are suppose to plan their travel, temporary or permanent migration, to Canada within the Visa timelines and submit one copy of CoPR at the time of landing. The other copy is stamped and returned.
Submitting CoPR means that Candidates have successfully landed in Canada and this in turn initiates the PR card application for each applicant.
Cost - Travel Cost of each applicant
Step 9: Receive PR card (2–3 months)
Official PR Card processing time is 62–65 days and the PR card will be couriered to the address given by the applicants at the time of their landing. The address has to be a Canadian address.
PR Card will be delivered to the address within 50–80 days. In case you have performed soft landing (temporary migration) just to fulfill the landing formalities before the Visa expires, you can request any friend coming to your native country to bring along your PR card.
PR cards are not couriered outside Canada and have to be delivered in person in such scenarios.
Step 10: You are Canadian PR. Enjoy!
Once you have your PR card, you are officially a Canadian PR. Have fun!
PR card is provided with validity of 5 years. A person is suppose to live in Canada for 730 days in consecutive 5 years to continue his/her PR card for next 5 years after the expiry.
If a person has stayed in Canada for more than 1095 days in consecutive 5 years, he/she is eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship.
Some Acronyms Frequently Used in this post & during Visa Processing:
CLB - Canadian Language Benchmark ECA - Education Credential Assessment EE - Express Entry ROI - Round of Invitations ITA - Invitation to Apply CoPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residency PPR - Passport Request PR - Permanent Resident (Residency)
PS: Not taking any credit for this, someone else wrote this on Quora, thought this would help. All the best! |

Hello house. I have read through this thread over time to prepare myself for life in Canada. I am still far from achieving my Canada PR dream as I’m yet to enter the EE Pool. I am married with two kids. I need your objective opinion to make the best choice. I am considering my options coz of my CRS score. If I nailed max out IELTS I will have 427 if I choose that I am married and spouse is accompanying me. But if I choose that I am married but with spouse not accompanying me I can have 445 which should get me ITA.I am aware that I will be able to sponsor my family after 3 months but it will take at least 1 year to finalize(anyone with experience about this may educate me) .The pros and cons based on my understanding is stated below.
*1st Option* -Apply directly through EE as married but not being accompanied by spouse. Spouse and children's details will be recorded with my application *Pros* *Will be able to get ITA as soon as I achieve 8 8 7.5 7.5 in IELTS. *Will have the freedom of landing and moving to any Province. *Will cost less to maintain myself while looking for a job since spouse & children will still be in Naija.
*Cons* *Will have to wait at least a year to bring spouse & children to Canada. *Will have to achieve 8 8 7.5 7.5 in IELTS
*2nd Option* Apply through PNP *Pros* *Will have PR for all family members at the same time *May have it will just 7777 in IELTS
*Cons* *Processing PR through PNP can take forever .Some provinces require having a relative, some require license and others have NOCs of interest. *It definitely costs more e.g. Ontario PNP costs 1500CAD *There is movement restrictions. I may need to stay in the province of nomination for about 2 yrs.
I want the gurus in the house to objectively analyse my case as stated above considering the pros and cons of the two options before me. You may add or correction the points stated in the pros and cons. I hope that your knowledge and experience will help me make the best choice. Thank you |

Sports › Re: Jim Nwobodo: What Abacha Did After Atlanta '96; What I Did For Kanu Nwankwo by mankind5050(m): 2:32pm On Aug 06, 2018 |
Jim you can lie.Kindly remind us that your house girl was included in Nigerian delegation while you dropped some promising young talents. Moreover how was it your work to command the Coach not to remove Kanu.Invariably, you won us the Olympic Gold.... Magichand: Jim Nwobodo, a former old Anambra governor, has revealed some events that happened during the Atlanta 1996 Olympics.
A former governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo, relives the victory of the Super Eagles in Atlanta Olympics of 1996 and how he saved Kanu Nwankwo from Coach Westerhof. The Super Eagles won the gold medal in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 when you were the Sports Minister.
Can you share with us the story of what happened then? They (Super Eagles) beat Japan, beat Brazil and also beat other big teams. That was the time we had wonderful players. You can only know the best team when they go out of the country and play the best teams in the world. Mikel Obi is playing in China and there are other young boys like Alex Iwobi, Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho and many others.
There is one thing I like about Nigerian football. Nigerians are football lovers, there is no doubt about that and football has the ability to unite Nigerians. I remember very well the 1996 event when we played in Atlanta Olympics. Nigeria was a pariah nation. The day we reached the climax was the day Nigeria met Brazil. We had a very strong team, those who were determined to do their best to make Nigeria proud.
Two things happened that day. We got into the field and, in the first half, they (Brazil) were leading Nigeria by 3-1. I sat by the side of then – FIFA President, Joao Havelange, a Brazilian lawyer, businessman and athlete who served as the 7th FIFA President from 1974 to 1998 and I told him we will beat Brazil and he started laughing because we were two goals down.
Half time break pep talk During the half time break, I went to our boys in the dressing room and called them one by one, starting with Sunday Oliseh, then Daniel Omokachi, Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha, Victor Ikpeba, Celestine Babayaro and others. I urged them not to disgrace me and Nigerians and they assured me that they will beat Brazil. I then called the coach, Clemens Westerhof, who complained that Kanu was not playing well and that he would remove him.
I ordered him not to remove the young man. I threatened to sack him if he removed Kanu. He complied with my order and allowed Kanu to play in the second half. In the second half, Okocha scored the second goal, making it 2-3; another goal was scored by Kanu to make it 3-3 and second half ended. In the extra time, we had what is called the golden goal then and, five minutes after, Kanu scored the golden goal and the match ended. Everyone was surprised but God was at work and I heard Him (God) when I said Kanu should not be removed.
Kanu became the man of the match. We were excited and many whites and many Africans, who did not know about the Dream Team, started painting themselves in green white green. I was also told that families that were not in talking terms for ten years reconciled because of that match.
Sweet victory Then – Head of State, General Sani Abacha, who was not in the habit of answering telephone calls, called almost all of us, including my wife. He did not stop there. He had to wait for us alongside some state governors for two days under the rain at the City Gate, Abuja when we returned to Nigeria and that was what that victory did to Nigeria. What a sweet victory!
The second thing that happened was that Chioma Ajunwa told me that she and other Nigerian athletes were yet to be paid their 300 dollars per day on the day she would compete. I saw reason with her but I told her it was a very small amount. I promised her that I will give her 10,000 dollars if she won a gold medal, she was shocked. I advised her to go for the long jump if she was good at that. Her first jump earned her gold medal for Nigeria and I gave her 10,000 dollars. This thing is about leadership and encouraging people around you.
So, sport, in itself, is something that, if properly developed, will bring the country together. Look at what sport is doing in the world today. If you are a sports administrator, you are known all over the world. FIFA President is bigger that any President in the world. My worry is that Nigeria has not given proper attention to sports. What is your rating of journalists in Nigeria? Nigeria has the freest press in the world; journalists write anything and get away with it and they hold people accountable and nobody can fight them. In Nigeria, I can say that we have a very free and strong press. I really don’t see anything wrong with what they are doing, except that they should always get their facts right.
What is your take on employers owing workers? Any employer that owes his workers should not expect them to be loyal to him. Such could expose workers to temptation because they have to take care of themselves and their families. It is not good to owe your workers; whether they are journalists, footballers, civil servants, you don’t need to owe them. Workers deserve their wages. So it is not good at all. You should do everything possible not to owe your workers.
What about state governments owing workers? I mean it’s unfair. It is ungodly and unchristian. If you don’t pay workers, what do you want them to do? In fact, when I was governor, I didn’t have anything as salary arrears. Throughout my stay in Government House, I never owed anybody for one month because one thing you do as a leader is to pay your workers before any other thing. That is the first charge and, from there, you motivate them to work harder.
So, any governor that owes workers for months is not fit to be a governor. Although, some governors have said that the problem about payment of salaries stems from the many problems confronting them, that argument does not hold water because you can still sit down and arrange your budget to make the recurrent less than the capital. You give capital budget priority over recurrent.
