It is taking time because they want to 'reduce' the salaries of those at the top level just like they did with the 2019 minimum wage.

For example, if the new minimum wage of N70k is inputted into the software used, it automatically uses the existing percentage increment to calculate both the yearly increments and advances in grade level.

So, with N70k as new factor, someone on GL 14 step 2 earning N250k p/m (based on N30k minimum wage) might be automatically computed to earn 430k (based on the N70k minimum wage). So, the government is now using different parameters to bring down the N430k to like N355k...

So while it seems there has been a significant increase, it is actually less overall compared to what should be actually earned.

That is the cause of the delay...

As for Sowore, I cannot fault him since he has not been a part of the tried, tested, and proven worthless group of politicians who have either been elected or been a part of the Nigerian political circle for the last 25 years, at least! You may not like it but I cannot condemn him for being a Journalist and good at what he does.

You need to see some of his videos online, he is always temperamental and cut a perfect example of Aluta Union leader rather than a decent politician aspiring to rule a cultural diverse country like Nigeria.

I don't know Sowore from a can of paint other than he runs Sahara Reporters and has been a vocal opponent of the corrupt establishment. He has at least accomplished that much in the way of a resume for himself. That is more than I can say of the rank of politicians that have been in office many of whom have never manufactured or created a single thing aside from leeching from the Nigerian government in one way or the other. Also, he has not occupied a political office in at least the last 25 years of Nigeria's democracy, more than the years before then, so to me, he has yet to sully himself with the system of corruption that is Nigeria.

Now, if you ask me if I would rather recycle a proven failure corrupt bag of failure Nigeria has had in the last 25 years, my answer is an absolute no! If you asked me whether I would be willing to take a chance on a complete novice who has not been tainted by all of Nigerian politics— never occupied any position in government —, my answer with yes. Now, if you asked me if I would be even more willing to take my chances on someone who is not only untainted by all of the mess that is Nigerian politics in the last 25 years but also understands what needs to be done at this point given the clear condition of things in the country and is willing to sign up as a declared servant of the people — taking on only those tasks that are to be benefit of the people of Nigeria(the ordinary Nigerian rather than the politicians and others goons), my answer would be absolutely Yes. Now, who are those Nigerians who fit that bill and where can we find them?

The most easy tasks to execute is the tasks of being a political opposition, it's always more easy to be a critic than a player,you can ask the likes of former president buhari, oshomale, Lai Mohammed etc, it's an established fact that Sowore lacks the minimal decorum required of a presidential personality. He is the categories of established noises Makers and political stunts creator like Dino melaye, former governor Wike and Ayodele Fayose.

You can use the current tax rates on their salaries base on current tax law but you can not apply the current minimum wages law to pay them the current minimum wages .
