We know your like. Supporter of anything corrupt and anti-good news about Nigeria.

Aren't you happy that fraud charges against the Senate leadership were dropped? Aren't you supporting pej against the efcc in relation to money laundering charges? What about pipeline vandalism, you are happy.

If a judge collected bribe and perverse the path of justice and you people are shouting rule of law, which rule of law did he follow to criminally enrich himself?

Please for posterity sake support the fight against corruption so that you and your future generations can have a good life. Posterity will judge you.

Having said all that, I want you to know that you are pathetic and miserable and that goes to every one hoping to reap any reward on you in future.
I am not like you who believe everything on the pages of Newspapers. I am a reasonable person who wait to hear from both sides of the case before making any judgment. It is because of people like you who believe everything being dished out to the public by the government that Nigeria has remained this way. It is very obvious you are not an objective fellow, so get a life.

So if a Supreme Court judge commits felony he can't be charged to court?

Let's say a Supreme Court judge shot his gate man dead in the middle of the night and the neighbours call the police, does it mean the judge can't be arrested and charge for murder?

This country is definitely screwd.
Why is it so difficult to understand simple communication such as this? They are not referring to any other crimes by the judges but a specific case of corruption, and the manner in which they were arrested. If a judge kills his neighbour even a four years old baby knows that the judge can be charged. But note that out of illegality nothing legal can come out.

PoliticsAmaechi’s Claims On Recession Under Jonathan And 7,000MW Under PMB Are FALSE by Manspeaks(op): 9:47am On Aug 04, 2016
Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation and former governor of Rivers state, made false claims about Nigeria generating 7,000MW of electricity under President Muhammadu Buhari, TheCable can confirm.

In an interview with Osasu Igbinedion, after the launch of the Kaduna-Abuja railway line, Amaechi said Nigeria was generating 7,000MW of electricity before the resumption of militant activities in the Niger Delta region.

He blamed the militants – Niger Delta Avengers – for poor power generation in Africa’s largest economy.

“Don’t forget that until these so-called Avengers began to bomb, we had got to 7,000 megawatts, and what he promised was ten at the end of the first term,” Amaechi had said.

“By the time the avengers, or whatever they call them started bombing, the minister of power, had driven the thing to 7,000 megawatts. Unfortunately, they began to hit the gas facilities, so what would you do?”

FACT: Nigeria, in its 55-year history, has never generated 7,000MW

Contrary to Amaechi’s claim, TheCable can confirm that Nigeria has never generated as much as 7,000MW in its entire existence.

Electricity generation in Nigeria is said to have begun under the British colonial government back in 1896, while the Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (NESCO) came on board in the late 1920s.

Ignoring the above, and tracing our records to 1960, when Nigeria got her independence, the government said, in a memorandum of understanding signed with the United States government, that it had built power plants to generate about 6,000 MW of electricity by 2014. NERC data shows the government fell short of its projection.

According to Wall Street Journal, which quoted the World Bank and Energy Information Administration, Nigeria produces less than half as much electricity as North Dakota for 249 times more people.

Meanwhile, the federal ministry of power, has said the highest level of power generation in the country, in the space of over half a century, was recorded on February 2, 2016, when the country generated 5,074 MW.

Power peaked at 5,074.7MW on February 2, 2016
This 1,926 MW short of Amaechi’s claim.

As at July 26, when Amaechi made this claim, Nigerian Electricity Regulation Commission (NERC) data showed that power generation peaked at 3,082 MW for the week.

Power Peak NERC
Power generation when Amaechi made his claim
Babatunde Fashola, minister of power, who spoke at The Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, on August 1, also reiterated the work done on power generation in Nigeria, with emphasis on a power peak around 5,000MW for 2016.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who spoke at the University of Ibadan, the country’s premier university in May said: “Early in the life of this administration late last year and early this year, power generation was possibly at its best”.

“Nigeria, for the first time, was actually generating 5,000megawatts, which was the first time it will happen in the history of the country,” Osinbajo added, contrary to Amaechi.

FACT: Nigeria was not in recession under Jonathan

The minister, who also served as speaker of the Rivers state house of assembly for eight years, also claimed that there was economic recession, under the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

“If you remember as governor, I said we’re broke. The minister for finance (Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) came to my office in Abuja here and pleaded with me that I shouldn’t say it again,” Amaechi said.

“So I knew as chairman of governors’ forum, that we had gone into recession under Goodluck (Jonathan).”

First: What is recession?

The International Monetary Fund (IMF), CNNMoney, New York Times and leading economic bodies agree that a recession can be easily identified by “two consecutive quarters of decline in a country’s real (inflation adjusted) gross domestic product (GDP)”.

They, however, add that on a global scale, one may need more than this metric to call a recession. IMF particularly says “it is often better to consider a wider set of measures of economic activity to determine whether a country is indeed suffering a recession”.

Second: Can recession be covered up?

Amaechi alleged that the Goodluck Jonathan administration covered up the recession.

According to the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a private research organisation, which maintains a chronology of the beginning and ending dates of US recessions, recession cannot be covered up.

The NBER’s Business Cycle Dating Committee defines a recession as “a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in production, employment, real income, and other indicators”.

Your Verdict: Did Nigeria experience recession under Jonathan?

Goodluck Jonathan became Nigerian president on May 5, 2010 and relinquished power by May 29, 2015.

Central Bank of Nigeria data shows that there was never a single quarter of negative GDP growth from 2010 to 2015, and no “two consecutive quarters of decline (negative growth) in a country’s real (inflation adjusted) gross domestic product (GDP)”.

GDP growth by Quarter

According to World Bank and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) opendata project, Nigeria experience annual economic growth ranging from 7.8 percent in 2010 to 2.7 percent in 2015.

Nigeria GDP per quarter 2
GDP growth by quarter (Chart by Trading Economics)
Other economic metrics, such as inflation, unemployment, also do not show any signs of recession.

According to NBS, Jonathan’s administration saw unemployment spike above 10 percent in 2012 from about five percent in 2010. Jonathan left Nigeria with 8.2 percent unemployment.

The administration also moved inflation from 12.9 percent in May, 2010 to nine percent in May, 2015. No economic indices highlighted by the IMF, World Bank and NBS showed recession within 2010 and 2015.

I won't waste your time.
I have a good boss who not only pays well but have also been very nice to me both financially and otherwise.
He sent me on an errand yesterday to sell some of his personal belongings for him. He was expecting a maximum of 80k from the sales. While selling, I negotiated cleverly and made 150k.
I fought with my conscience to give him like between 80k-90k. But I finally decided to give him all the money because he had always been a nice guy and I felt it was wrong to cheat or steal from someone who always gives you even more than you deserve.
Fast forward to today. My younger brother called that he needs money for some pressing needs in school and I did not have money to give him because almost all the money I have is tied down to a certain business deal.
I feel bad that I can't give my brother the money he needs and I could have had the cash to give him if I took part of the money yesterday. I have been wondering if it was really worth it that I gave my boss all the proceeds from the sales.
Please share ur thoughts on this.
What is wrong with this generationhuh? How can you contemplate stealing from somebody, whether boss or not!! We have lost all decency known to the moralists. And yet, we keep blaming government or village phantomed witches for our misfortuneshuh? It is a pity!!!

CelebritiesRe: Lagos Government After Linda Ikeji Over Tax Evasion by Manspeaks(m): 9:55pm On Dec 19, 2015
Nairapeople:
Multi-millionaire blogger, Linda Ikeji is in a battle with the Lagos Inland Revenue Service over an alleged tax evasion and it is authoritative.
It was gathered that all attempts to track down the blogger started about a month ago when the agency got information that the blogger has not been remitting necessary taxes to the state government but all attempts by the service were said to have been
frustrated.
A source informed that at a time she was to be served a notice of tax assessment, her father who was to receive the letter allegedly declined to do so saying she could not receive such a notice on behalf of Linda.
On the second occasion, the delivery man was turned back on the excuse that no individual known as Linda Ikeji was resident at the address traced to her business.
The agency however got their way last week as she was said to have been served at her new mansion in highbrow Banana Island while the inland revenue equally made a video and photo evidences to support the service.
A very reliable source at the tax office informed News of the People that checks conducted on the blogger revealed that she had only paid (N4,000) four thousand naira ever as tax to the state government.
At the moment LIRS is said to be requesting for her tax assessment of personal income with a caveat that failure to do so may compel them to proceed to court for a criminal proceedings.

It was hinted that if the blogger refuses to respond to the request of the inland revenue, the agency shall be forced to drag her to court to face the music.
When the blogger was contacted on the issue by this medium, she neither responded non acknowledged the message sent to her.

http://www.newsofthepeople-ng.com/blogger-linda-ikeji-in-trouble-with-lirs/
A particular issue raised by a source was the withholding tax ought to have been paid to the state government on the 600 million naira property she recently acquired which may amount to about 30 million naira only.

She is not responsible here. The seller is to withhold the amount and not the buyer.
