Career / Re: Employers May Lay Off Workers Amid Worsening Economy – NECA by Maobichek: 11:24am On Feb 19
LeeSmart:
A worker of mine approached me last week Friday and said "oga with the economic situation of the country at hand, do you have any plans of laying us off or reducing our salaries?" To told him i will rather increase their salary from 40k to 60k, that was how he knelt down and started praying for me. This is someone 20yrs older than i am, felt embarrassed TBH.

Good morning, ppl are hungry, you may not understand but it's obvious. I pray everyday for people around me before the more they are in lack, the more burden on me. After service yesterday, at least 3 ppl approach me for help. God alone will save this country.

This is what any reasonable society should be doing.
Of what use is HAMAS to those children?
You didn't think about them before attacking who pass you ,you still can't defend them with your life ,rather using them as human shield.
Aren't making policies to better their lots in life, all you think about is tunnels, weapons and violence.
It's high time Palestinians begin to flush out HAMAS themselves so that they can have the much needed peace both Palestine and Israel deserves.

You have a point there but bear in mind that Hamas are their kit and kin i.e Hamas are Palestinians who felt dissatisfied over the activities of Israel in Gaza.

Let me take you down memory lane, if you are a Christian and knows the history of this war according to Bible; Palestinians didn't just move to Gaza, they have been there. Through warfare and conquest in the Bible, Israel once ruled places (countries) that are not originally Israel and this is the issue. We believe that Jerusalem is the city of David (according to Bible) but ppl were there (in Jerusalem) before God promised Abraham and even when the Israelites came back from (Egypt) captivity.

My opinion is that war(s) have not brought solution to this whole issue, they should sit down and reach a compromise on how to live together because Palestinians can't be drove out from Gaza in the name of fighting Hamas. More Palestinians will still join Hamas out of anger seeing their families/love once killed in a bid to annihilate Hamas as Israel desire.

Another senseless killing of innocent Palestinians by Israel

Of a truth, i feel bad about the Palestinian issue and Israel must excercise restraint on how they go about fighting "Hamas."

Palestinians must state their position on Hamas activities, let it be known whether they are for or against Hamas. Innocent ppl are dying on daily basis and something must be done, this war must not continue.

Food / Re: Checkout The Rice I Bought In A Local Kaduna Market by Maobichek: 4:40pm On Feb 15
simonlee:
So, considering the rate at which the price of foodstuffs keep increasing by the day, I decided to buy enough rice to last a while.
I went to a local market here in Southern Kaduna (where I work) to get my rice. These local markets are open only once a week, with traders and buyers from far and wide coming to make the most of it.
I was able to get local, clean rice at the rate of N1,500 per mudu (our unit of measurement here grin). I bought 15 mudus, that's N22,500 and got 1 extra mudu free after scoping the mama to the best of my ability.
I think it was a good purchase considering how our brothers in the south are lamenting the cost of food over there.
What's the situation in your area?

"...considering how our brothers in the south are lamenting the cost of food over there."

The above copied part of your thread drew my attention. Kano, Niger, Abuja etc have protested, they are not southern part of Nigeria. I live in FCT and i know the cost of things here.

Quit social media, study hard and attend great schools and you will know why serious organisations don't take schools like this serious.

Good afternoon, i totally disagree with your position. Go to NNPC, CBN, ECOWAS, UN etc. You will see people that graduated from ABSU there.

Head of our department graduated from a Polytechnic while i graduated from Unizik. Unilag, UI, Uniport etc graduates are also under her.

These are all the result of Buhari leadership, i see Tinubu trying hard to implement a system that would balance the system of governance and promote huge economic development.

Buhari was there, ppl who called him out were tagged"enemies of the state."

I want to ask you a question: why is that Buhari now have more critics compared to when he was the president?

I believe after 2 years and we didn't see any significant improvement in the lives of our ppl you won't still call PBAT out but when he hands over, critics will spring from left, right, up and down against him.

Nigerians are not finding it easy now unlike what we had during Buhari's days, we must admit that and ask our leaders to live up to expectations, thank you.

what a mad man, give them their emirate!

Tinubu use your power now before they overthrow your. These guys are not coming to negotiate, they set you up and now they are ready to bully and disgrace you out of office, be smart. Divide the country now or back to region and you would never be forgotten

Good morning, the masses are hungry, price of staple food has resin to an unexplainable level. I believe that your position wouldn't have come up had the current government live up to their billings.

Buhari was not the best but if we are buying things at the same price we bought during Buhari's era, many people would keep quiet. Things are extremely hard now and everyone bears witness to that.

If you have solution, profer and not PBAT dividing this country because people are speaking up on hardship ravaging the country.

2024 will be a worse economic year for Nigeria than 2023. The good news however is that 2024 will be a better economic year than 2025. Go figure.

2024 will be worst compared to 2023 and 2024 will be better than 2025!!! This is not good at all, please say something good, be positive about Nigeria. This is not about politics of APC, PDP or LP.

We supported because they are represented us. We all know that the economy is bad and everyone is talking about it; religious leaders, politicians, the masses etc.

As we talk about it, we have already identify the problem and the means of getting out of this mess will definitely come, i believe.

Life time investment he gave them

This is wise of him the rich among them will build plaza or house for rent on the land

They will have something to fall back on wheh they retire

If I was president I will allocate free land to anyone abroad ready to invest 1m dollar in real estate or manufacturing

Real estate you said? There are many unoccupied houses scattered across the length and breath of Abj because people can't afford those houses.

Abj already have enough real estate, what the masses need is affordable ones, thank you.

Gifting millionaires houses and lands, that’s outside what they’ll be paid.

They deserve it ok! Their ability to reach final must be commended. Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Cameron, Senegal etc were not better than us in this tournament but they were big names. Congratulations to our players for the fate.

Arguably our best player in this tournament

Iwobi tried but many players like Ekong, Onyeka, Nwabali, Simon, Bassey, Lookman, Ajaiyi, etc were far more better than him.
Sports / Re: Iwobi Deletes All Pictures On Instagram Account Amid Criticisms by Maobichek: 10:27am On Feb 13
aswani:

I actually agree with this. Onyeka had a super tournament all the way through and even in the final when all around him had a bad day at the office, he still kept his high standard.

Unlike Ndidi who is prone to bouts of foolishness, Onyeka seemed to be very composed, a future Super Eagles captain.

Players in DM are ment to play dirty, Gatuso, Sunday Olisa, Onazi, kante, Makelele etc just to mention but a few.

A good defense midfielder must be a fighter, running round against attackers.

Asides from even tactical showing, he never showed any ginger to mark or retrieve lost balls. He was damn to slow and lazy on the pitch. His lethargy in this AFCON is legendary. I wonder why the coach keeps using him.

Coach did because Iwobi is good in distrusting but very weak in retrieving and defending.
Sports / Re: Iwobi Deletes All Pictures On Instagram Account Amid Criticisms by Maobichek: 8:28am On Feb 13
OmoFiditi:
The guy had a terrible tournament. He really made Onyeka the DM suffer.

Before the finals, I advised Iwobi to train alone and learn proper offensive passes. He was the weakest link in the midfield, hardly gives accurate offensive passes and easily lost the ball to the opposition, it happened against South Africa. It was just a matter of time before he got a thorough lashout from Nigerians if he did not improve before the finals.

Alas, he was too lazy to take the advise. Coaches should tell players who do not do well the truth. Tell them they played shiit, and should go for extra training, even when the team wins.

God bless Onyeka, though some people didn't see him but he fought tirelessly against Ivory Coast rampaging players.

Did you also noticed that Ndidi's absence was not felt because Onyeka filled that role perfectly.

If you watched thesame Onyeka against Cameroon or Angola, you will agree with me he wasn't at his best also. Though he still did more than many in the team.

Onyeka's role is to mark opponents, tackle and fought for ball, these he did absolutely well considering his tackles and prompt challenge against the Ivory Coast players. Ndidi's absence was not felt because Onyeka did well, had Iwobi and Chukwueze played their part well, Ivory Coast wouldn't have dominated the match the way the did.

He was the only player in the midfield even though he was poor yesterday. I didn't understand how every single player in the team starts running back towards their 18 yard box everytime the opposition is running at them with the ball. Like what pattern of football was that

Onyeka was poor yesterday He fought a brave fight against rampaging Ivory Coast players. Super Eagles were outplayed yesterday but Onyeka was outstanding.

Nwobi is a lazy midfielder, though all our players were lazy yesterday except Ekong and the keeper.

The coach got the tactics totally wrong yesterday. Anyway, Ivory Coast qualification as last of best loosers was divine. Since they beat Senegal, I knew they were wounder lions.

Frank Onyeka was lazy yesterday? I know that you watch the final but not seeing Frank Onyeka fought everywhere against Ivory Coast rampaging players was sheer ignorance of what happened last night.

Good morning, please leave Iwobi alone, is there anyone better than him in that position? He actually didn't live up to expectations but he tried in distribution though very weak in defense unlike Oshimen.
