Big-Man:
How many Kids do you have? What is your Spouse doing?

I advise you start up a business for your Spouse if she is not doing anything yet. She can go along way to alleviate the condition of your family. Sit her down and inform her that you should do a team work to run your home. There is much you can achieve with your present salary if you plan well with your spouse.

I had similar experience six years ago. Mine was 60k with two kids then but we have three kids now, I had to setup a petty business for my wife and she was so dedicated to it. The business grew to where she could save almost my salary in a month. It got to a stage where both of us had to add more capital and it blossomed. Today, we have a car, built 2 houses (one in the city and another in the village). Truth is my spouse is very enterprising!!! At the moment our monthly savings (my salary and her business savings) is above 200K after family expenditure.

You must be discipline and be transparent to your spouse for you to achieve all these. Some of my colleagues in the office cannot still boast of having a car. They believe our salary is too small to make do with. You must not wait to get the best of jobs before you make good use of your finances. If you can't do it with little pay, you just cant do it with better one.
I am inspired by your advice above. I work in a private firm for the past four months now we have not been paid our salary. I am thinking of going into a business to support my husband, but for now I do not have money to rent a shop to start up business. Please what i advice/encouragement can you give me. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

don't try it o! i've made that mistake before. the pancake will be soaked with oil and believe me you won't enjoy it. at best, the oil should be so little that it only covers the surface of the frying pan. tho' i've not yet gotten the results i want, i know better than to use planty oil.
Thanks so much dominique. I will give a try.

Spanishfly:
It depends on how you like it and where your location is. I know in the US, there's ready made pancake that all you need to do is add water and then fry it with small water but if you want to start from scratch, here's how I do mine

Get ordinary Flour (all purpose), mix it with eggs, milk sometimes nutmeg for taste but not necessary, sugar, all depends on your taste and water, if you like it thick or thin, you determine the quantity. Get my frying pan, put very small oil and spread round the frying pan, and then take a spoon and pour some of my mix in the pan. If i like it thick or thin, or very crusty at the edge or a little burnt, then I leave it to fry for a long time. Kapeeesh!
I was told you use plenty of oil to fry. is that ok?

FamilySave A Family From Greed by marami(op): 4:37pm On Apr 20, 2010
I have this story to share with Nlanders. It is about a family where they had five men and three women. Long long time ago they lost their eldest brother to death. This eldest brother had five children who were kids as at the time he died. As usual the kids were left under the care of the widow who had nothing to take care of her children since all their late father had have taken over by their so-called uncles.

After so many years the uncles and aunties got married had children and were only interested in the affairs of their immediate families not minding whether the children of their late brother are doing well or not.

To cut long story short, one of the Aunties did not marry but had almost everything money can buy, I mean she is rich cause she is hardworking – she works in a reputable organization, runs pure water business, etc. Unfortunately this aunty was diagnosed of breast cancer which she had been managing for more than 3 years. Since age was telling on her she decided to adopt a baby latest year, the baby is about nine months today. Sad to say this aunt kicked the bucket this month leaving this nine months old baby behind.

Several funny things have been happening after this incidence. First, the younger sister of this late aunty was suppose stay with her while she was seriously sick, but we were told that whenever she goes visiting her she will always pick up quarrel with her for one thing or the other to the extent that she took her daughter who have been staying with this aunty for about 12years. Funny enough we were told that when she heard of her sister’s death she took the next available bus to the north where her late sister was staying. We cannot deduce her reason for doing that either to resurrect her or something else. If you know please tell us.

In addition to the above, their elder brother who resides in the village, left the village for the north again. Instead of taking care of visitors or arranging for the burial in the village. Money get power !!!

Abeg Nlanders what advice, suggestion or correction would you give in order to help these people leave in peace. Will the properties (cars, landed properties, furnitures, pure water factory etc) be shared among all family members including the children/wife of the eldest brother who died long time ago? Should the properties be sold and the money saved for the nine months old baby? Should the adopted child be returned to the motherless babies home? Please you advice will be appreciated.
