That is the exact point I'm trying to explain to them, males can get away with it but same can't be said of women reason for my fears, the society is already biased in that angle.

First : Detach the fear of the girl child or alleviate it

Second : Maintain a routine, with age gap, there should be tasks between specific time for the child to be engaged in. Do not overburden the child, but make sure there are no in-betweens that can not be accountable for, have time for siesta, studies,TV, academics, home chores. The kid must be found in this time line,if the kid is not, be watchful

Third : Exposure, censore the programs they are exposed to, they may be young at some point, but the quality of the mould ( in this case ) mind is greatly influcned by it, you don't wantpollutants seeping through...


Fourth : Engage them in girly activites, like friends, music, do not be rigid...Don't ever make them feel trapped, if they do, they'll want to explore


Five : Use porn blocker on all your electronic gadgets, filter the programs they have access to....


Six : No to boarding school


Seven : Catch them early, capturing the mind early alleviates the exposure to social experiements down the line


Eight : Watch out for strange traits, immediately you notice a foul language/character, there's an external factor involved actively


Most importantly, Pray for them......We all have this fears, but we must pray, and detach the fear of raising the female child, we do this, and hope for the best...

We have these fears, they are valid, i feel personally fellowship, friendship circles,access to information plays crucial roles...We also need to pay attention to the driftings once they start to behave in ways contrary to principles they were fed with, it means someone is feeding them stuff and it's not you. For me personally, i will put a lid o social media and television programs, most times attitudes are just the aftermath of the stuff people get from media after an extended period...Imagine doing vie hours of cable TV daily for a year...that's 5 x 365 = 1825 hours, do this year in year out, it will tell on the character of the individual. We can't leave our kids to be brought up and nurtured by principles that are not scrutinized..I heard Bill Gate banned his kids from cell phone till 15 years of age




I passed through six years of boarding school, and can authoritatively say influence plays key role...In the end, it's important to take advantage of the six - fifteen years old gap, do this, have the child for a long time...But the demands of life, work etc, strips many parents of the time they need to impact crucial life lessons

You made a huge point here. I'm sorry for my earlier outburst Sir. But again I also went to a boarding school though didn't finish, and I know what peer pressure can cause. In this case where the parents are not in sight to watch them what becomes the result? Even when they come home, they may choose to hide those bad attitudes only to continue when back in school. Unless you want to an only boy school, you should notice how guys make out with girls in dark corners at night.

Truth be told, the consequences of immortality in males and females is not the same. So many teen girls impregnated by teen boys have had their education delayed and the entire course of their lives derailed. Also, abortions which place the lives of the participants at risk are done on women not men. Now while the girl child is exposed to all the above risks, the boy child responsible for this pregnancy can move on with life as if nothing ever happened. I get your point and I already explained it in my post, the beam light is always on the female, hence aggravating my fear.

Yeah you read it right. Previously I had envisaged how I'm gonna birth and take care of my daughter, make her a princess so she can proudly stand among equals. I have read about great women of valor who have effected positive changes in the world today, and I would obviously want to have one that would do same and be like the likes of Chimamanda, Dora etc.

But the present disposition of our society has left me with fears. After what I saw in campus and even what I still see everyday, I can only pray for God not to give me female children. I used to think it's all about home training, but I know girls that were brought up in the most upright way, but immediately they leave home and become out of sight, the story changes. These days you would see little girls still in high school being so promiscuous, some of the ones sent to the boarding house escape out and search for how to get laid. I don't want to talk about what I saw in campus, most of us already know the story, how some cohabit with guys, how some move from one city to another to hawk sex and the rest.

With all the above reasons and more, I don't know if it's enough justifications to pray not to have a girl child than to have one that would bring shame and disgrace to me and my family, not like the male ones are saints anyway and can't commit crimes, but that of the female is most disgraceful.

I wish to get your thoughts and opinions on this, am I getting it all wrong?

If I become the President, the first thing I would do is to project the amendment of that thing we call constitution, that's the genesis of our problems.

As a developing African country, we spend too much on frivolities. There is need to cut down the salaries of our senators and the presidency. Education and health would make up about 40% of the budget. We would build capital projects that would help create jobs because we have the work force, I would revive our oil and construction companies especially Ajaokuta steel industry so we could manufacturer our products. All these would help grow our economy.

As someone who is vast in political economy, we would work on our service and manufacturing industries, So we won't depend always on Primary resources like Oil. I support restructuring, my own definition is giving more powers to the states, remember what necessitated the creation of states? many were crying that they weren't carried along, mostly minorities. so going back to regionalism would still bring about an outcry as government is more closer to the people now than before.

I would employ technocrats who are learned in their various fields. appointments would be devoid of bigotry, tribalism and ethnicity.

I would strengthen the fight against corruption and make the courts independent of the federal government. Anybody who would lead us to the promised land must have a good and sound knowledge of history as to know where we came from, with foresight of where we are going to, I think I have these two important attributes.

I have too many plans for this country that if I decide to execute all the plans I have, I fear I may be killed before my time by corrupt politicians and saboteurs because I can't do the aforementioned alone, nevertheless I still keep the dream and hope alive.
