My little girl, carrying you for nine months was sincerely not an easy task. It was the most difficult days of my life. I felt very sick and nauseous most of the time. There were things that I couldn’t do, some work I couldn’t perform and some places I couldn’t go to. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I felt very happy that I would see how beautiful you are. I lived each day, longing to see how beautiful and cute you are. Your dad was very loving and caring. He’s the most wonderful man I’ve ever met. You’ll be proud of him being your dad when you grow up. Your dad treats me like a baby…he takes good care of me and ensure that you’re very fine. “This baby is very stubborn. It’s going to be a boy”. “No darling. It has to be a girl”. I argued, as we played in the moonlight, my feet on his, while he massaged it carefully. I knew it has to be you. I knew you’d be my little girl, my jewel, the joy of my life. You wouldn’t imagine the joy and happiness I felt when I first bore you in my hands. You were so beautiful and innocent that I thought I’ll keep crying for the whole day. I promise to love you and protect you always. I promise to offer you what is within my capability. I promise to cherish you like always, right from when you were born till you grow into a teenager and a woman ripe for marriage. No matter what age you grow to, you’ll always remain my little girl. I love you so much! Maryam AbdulWahab, Love Prose

Episode Twelve The date was a very eventful and interesting one. Dhakiyah got home in the evening and she knew that Hayrah must also be back from her date. What surprised her was seeing a black jeep in the compound. It meant that Hayrah's dad was back home from his trip. Dhakiyah rushed in to get her share of the goodies that he usually bring from his trip. When she got inside, the house was not as it used to be. Hayrah was meant to be all around her father; playing and screaming about how much she has missed him. Rather, she sat at a corner with a hand on her face. "Asalam 'alaykum. How was your journey dad?" "Wa'alaykumu salam. Fine dear". "Where are you coming from?" Hayrah walked up to her. "Excuse me?" "You heard me right. Where have you been and where are you coming from?" "I'll tell you after dinner. I actually have a lot to tell you". "That you and Ali are in love and you've been seeing yourselves for a while. That Ali likes you and not me and you've known that right from the first day of our meeting". "I'm sorry Hayrah. I was looking for the right time to tell you". "You're such a hypocrite Hayrah. You kept all these from me? I thought I could trust you". "I'm sorry sis. I planned on telling you tonight, after dinner...before going to bed". They had first met in middle school, when he solved a maths puzzle that troubled her in the library. They had been close friends since then and everyone knew that they were inseparable. They did virtually everything together. He offered to assist her after school hours, where she sold fish at the market, for her mother. Silas wasn't just intelligent, he was handsome and humorous. His thin nose was a funny thing to stare at and he cracked jokes that will make Rose laugh till dawn. Rose love to stare at his long legs and tiny eyes that has been strained as a result of his excessive reading. Rose loved him. She loved him with all of her heart. However, she wouldn't know how he feels about her. Years passed and they all completed school and applied for colleges. Prom night was fast approaching. Silas had asked Anita; one of the girls in school out as his prom date. Rose felt heartbroken, not just because she had expected him to ask her out, but because she thought he loved her. She would walk in school and the girls will gossip about Silas ditching her. The guys thought they were dating. So why will they think of asking her out? Rose braced up and asked Silas to meet her in the night. She would confess her love for him. "You're just a friend Rose. You're like my sister. I've never seen you more than that". He held his hands in hers as she bawled her eyes out. Rose wanted him to see the hurt in her eyes but he didn't. He never loved her after all. Years passed and when she remembers Silas, the boy she truly loved. She knows that in love, you have to let go sometimes.

He calls her late in the night as usual. The familiar voice, making her shriek in excitement. "I have a confession to make". He says, creating a pause on their conversation. She chewed on her lips, wondering what the confession could be. He was her love, her one and only. The one she dreams of spending the rest of her life with. "What could it be?" "It's just that... you look more beautiful whenever I see you. Your face gets brighter every single moment and it captivates me to stare at". He says. She smiles, making blood to run uncontrollably down her cheek. "You're making me blush". "I'm serious my love. There's something I want to tell you tonight. Should I proceed?" "Yes". She grins widely. "I love you". "Should I also say the magical words you've longed to hear?" "Yes please". "I love you too". Maryam AbdulWahab, Love Prose

Episode Eleven Hayrah was gone on her date and Dhakiyah laid on the bed, wishing she could also spend time with Ali. There's no doubt that she loves him very much. She just couldn't bring herself up to admit it. Just like he knew that he was on her mind, he called immediately and Dhakiyah hastily picked up. "Asalamu 'alaykum". "Wa'alaykumu salam Dhaki. I was just wondering if you're free". "Yes. Why do you ask?" "I was thinking we should go out. It will be a great opportunity for us to talk. Hayrah and Nu'man are out. We should have our date". "You're asking me out on a date?" "Yes I am. What do you say?" "Okay". * * * Dhakiyah dressed swiftly and waited for Ali's arrival. He picked her up thirty minutes after. "You look beautiful Dhaki". "Thanks". She blushed shyly just like the first day she had met him. "Can I ask a favour from you". "Okay?" "Can I tie your eyes? I have a lovely surprise for you". "Just promise you're worth trusting". "Trust me baby. You wouldn't regret this". Continue reading https://maryamnittywall..com.ng/2017/09/dhakiyah-and-hayrah_26.html

They had first met at a public library, when they decided to have a cold drink before lending the book "Learning from pain". They offered to share the yoghurt since there was only one left and they both wanted it. When their eyes first locked, it was the best thing that had ever happened to them. They both knew that they had experienced love at first sight, Love by Fate. * * * Hamdalah and AbdurRahman wouldn't stop thinking of each other. They both love themselves but the thought of 'Does he/she love me back?' prevented them from expressing their feelings. AbdurRahman had traveled overseas to see his father, leaving Hamdalah with only a gift and note. The love they shared for each other grew stronger and deeper that the distance and space between them couldn't extinguish the love that they shared for each other. Rather, they saw how unbearable it was to live without each other. Hamdalah had found someone else, handsome, religious, rich and loving but the love for AbdurRahman wouldn't make her open her heart to the man, not when he already owns her heart. She waited for his return, to express the love that she bore in her heart. He had returned by surprise, visiting her office and offering her a bouquet of flowers. They went to a nearby restaurant and expressed their love for each other. "Let's get married in no time". "Yes Hamdalah. I love you". "I love you too AbdurRahman". Love Prose, Maryam AbdulWahab. Based on the novel Love By Fate (Soon to be published). |
Dear Future Wife, I know you're out there, somewhere in the world... I have no idea. I don't know what you're doing. I can't tell if you're schooling or working in a small company, or what you do that make you fulfilled. You might probably be a writer or an artist, or a weird scientist...I really don't care who or what you are. I'll love you just the way you are! How can I tell how you look when I see you. Are you a wild lady with dyed red flaming hair or you're just that simple girl with rounded spectacles? The fact is, I don't care how you look. What I do care is finding you and loving you. I do not promise to buy you the biggest gifts because I'm not wealthy. I don't promise to get the biggest mansion you've dreamt of living. I may not be your prince charming with the best looks and sweetest talks. I may not be all these but I'll be someone who would love you with all of his heart. I'm someone who'd spend the rest of his life with you. We will get married, have the lovely kids, go on a dinner date to rekindle our love, have those pillow fights, play chess after lunch; during the weekends. We would make sumptuous treats together and eat like it's our last meal on earth. I pray we grow old together, seeing our lovely kids get married and having their own children. But future wife, I'm kinda running impatient. When will I see you? How would I know you're the one? Will you be putting on a long gown or having a black hoodie over your head? What will your name be? Martha? Angela? Brittany? I hope to find you soon future wife! Maryam Abdulwahab, Love Prose. Facebook: Maryam's Nitty Wall maryamnittywall.. com

Episode Nine It was weekend and Dhakiyah and Hayrah spent the early part of the morning cleaning the house. They were just having breakfast when a knock was heard. "Go see who it is Dhaki". Hayrah's mother said as she walked to the door. A surprise flower was sent to Hayrah and it was from Nu'man. He had written a note, asking her on a date. Hayrah gladly agreed as they both searched for the best outfit for her to wear. "I think this will look best on you. Remember when you bought it from a store in Paris and that French guy wouldn't stop disturbing you because you looked beautiful". Dhakiyah said as they both laughed. They had visited a store on their vacation in Paris and Hayrah bought a blue dress. The day she put it on, a French guy kept following her, speaking words that she couldn't comprehend. Episode Nine Yeah, Hayrah might be good at other subjects but French was a no-no! It took an English speaking man who understood French to translate to them that he was complimenting her beauty. "That was a really horrible experience Dhaki. You brought back funny memories". She laughed loudly, cleaning the tears that dripped from her eyes. Hayrah held the clothe and stared deeply into Dhakiyah's eyes. "What now?" "I may be selfish sometimes but I want to ask if you feel okay about me being with Nu'man". (Bonus Episode) #1 **After the Wedding** Hamdalah still in her lovely wedding dress, held hands with Abdur Rahman as they ran swiftly into the car, in the midst of waves and cheers from the audience. When they were finally on the road, she smiles satisfactorily, resting her head over his shoulder and holding his hand firmly with hers. It was like a dream. She was finally going to be with the love of her life Abdur Rahman. She stares at the ring on both of their hands and she can never imagine any thought better than that...the fact that they're married. "Baby", Abdur Rahman murmurs as he kisses her, "You know how I've longed to do this... to have you all to myself". "Yeah, same here". She blushes shyly, returning his kiss. "So what next?" Episode Eight Dhakiyah walked lazily on the street to their house. It was dark already and she was really tired after the day's experience. She visited the community's library after the meeting with Ali but couldn't comprehend what she read. She recalled what Ali had said. It was sure that he would never like Hayrah in the way expected. Dhakiyah was shocked when she heard Hayrah's laughter from the gate entrance. The lights brightly shone in the compound and the TV noise buzzed from inside. She cleared her curiousity when she entered the living room. Hayrah was indeed happy. She sat together with her mom as they watched TV along with a bowl of popcorn. "Hey dear, I've missed you". She sang happily as Dhakiyah came over to hug them. "How was your day Dhaki?" Her mom asked. "Really hectic, and almost futile. Just a tiring day". She yawned, pulling off her veil and taking the bangles from her hand. "Uh oh. That's sad to hear. Where did you got to?" "Huh?" "I said, where did you go to?" Episode Seven Dhakiyah cleaned her sweaty face as she walked along the hot and busy road. The sun shone brightly and lighted the whole city like candlelight. She placed her wet palm on each other, longing to leave the busy road and get a breath of good air. She wondered why she was really hot. It surely would be because of the weather...or the fact that she had a thick veil on...rather, because of her mission. Hayrah was out to her baking class and Dhakiyah knew that it was the best time to handle things once and for all. You have to do this Dhakiyah. You can do this! She murmurs, crossing to the other side of the road and nervously staring at the coffee shop. It was where they had first met Ali and they both agreed to meet there. Dhakiyah entered the coffee shop with a feel of relief as the air conditioned room washed over her skin. She scanned through the room and spotted Ali at the left corner, with his usual bright smile.
