Education / Re: She Graduated With A CGPA Of 4.99 From Covenant University by mariong(m): 11:48am On Jul 10, 2014
Congrats to her but this her 4.99 CGPA wouldn't have been possible if it were a federal university. In a federal Uni, you must encounter one or two frustrated lecturers who just feel you don't deserve whatever hight you are attaining and there are also those that would not want their record broken.

Crime / Re: My Experience With Kidnappers Barely 30 Minutes Ago[not A Story, A True Experien by mariong(m): 7:30pm On Dec 27, 2013
I don't think they are kidnappers but rather swindlers. I had a similar experience in Abuja, Wuse precisely. A guy just walked up 2 me after i alighted from a bus asking me vague questions, that he's from togo and needs to get to so and so place, that he lost his way, they came to Nigeria to offload goods in the port, bla bla bla. He was even trying to speak french probably to convince me. Next thing this other guy pops out of no whr, he wantd 2 knw what the 1st guy was asking me as i was already slowly walking away. I didn't even give him attention cos my instinct already told me it was a plot. I just left them and walked away.

solowork:

Who still says yuletide in 2013? And 'perculiarness' is not a word, 'peculiarity' is the word you're looking for. Can we just speak English like normal people and stop embarrassing ourselves with pretentious words? The idea is to COMMUNICATE.
You could have passed on ur message without d intent to ridicule, bt of course, you are the typical Nairalander who knows all.
Mate, i can list a thousand words than are termed old-fashioned but are of common use today. The world is no longer as rigid as u think it is. See the word http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Peculiarness
I'll advice u thread carefully in ur know-it-all adventure lest u end up making a joke of yourself.

I observed it's somewhat common during every yuletide. I don't see any peculiarness this season; that has always been the trend. I may be wrong thou.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Madiba's Burial: Isn't South Africa Most Ungrateful To Nigeria? by mariong(m): 5:21pm On Dec 17, 2013
Fadelex: the apartheid regime was led by the British and the Dutch...yet you'll see David Cameron speaking highly of the man they incarcerated for 27years because of their selfishness and greediness. American just blurt out is name on watch list yet Obama became is closest friend. it just shows the hypocrisy of the world order. if not for the God-forsaken leaders that have ruined our dear country, who cares if we're invited to Mandela's burial? mtn and multichoice are both SA companies that has contributed nothing to our economy yet they milk us dry everyday and our leaders turned a blind eye. Mandela was a great man in south Africa not in Nigeria, he didn't liberate blacks from whites but he liberated south Africans from Britain and Holland. I refused to join d bandwagon of people that sings high praises of a man that never affect my life in one way or the other. to me, awolowo, azikwe, ahmadu bello are greater than Mandela because they affected my life with their struggle.

soon, ivory coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Somalia and Eritrea will soon deny the input of Nigeria in building their country. but I say to our leaders, please make this country our pride and envy of others, we have the human, natural and financial resources to actualize this. God bless Nigeria.
Exactly what i told some friends only for them to misunderstand me. It has nothing to do with hate whatsoever, i've got utmost respect for Madiba and his Heroics but as far as i'm concerned whatever it is he did never had any form of impact on me.

I see no reason why some Nigerians should be bugging themselves over this ish.

AdekunleBalogun: Obviously Nigerians are not ready for any concrete development, Nigerians are any political ideology that is people centered. instead Nigerians still prefered to guided by ethnicity, religion and tribalism. i will say emphatically Nigerians are not ready for any meaningful development.
I have to agree with u emphatically too.
Education / Re: Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, (Pictures) by mariong(m): 4:28pm On Dec 10, 2013
What a thread! It's hot in here mehn!

ABU is beautiful no doubt. There's no way you'll enter the school without falling in love with it. The first time my eyes saw the Basketball court in the sport complex i was amazed, the court was simply magnificent. What i love most about the school is its neatness.
I can't argue wether or nt it's better than OAU in terms of beauty cos i've never been to OAU, but one thing is for sure, there are few schools you can compare to ABU in that respect.
