Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson disclosed that when she was just a fresher in the movie industry, that a movie producer asked her to bring out her breast during an audition.



“Earlier in my career just once, small-time producer who asked to see my breast for a role I was auditioning for and I said no, and walked out," Lydia said in an interview with the BBC.

The actress revealed this part of her story following the scandal involving a well-known Hollywood movie producer, Harvey Weinstein, who is currently pointed with allegations of rape and sexual misconduct from many actresses in the industry.

Forson said she had to leave after the disclosed producer made the request.

She said that sexual harassments are so numbered in other professions, explaining that many woman go through persistence sexually demands from men that attains powerful sits.

“It’s unfortunate that it’s very common but it cuts across everywhere. Women are subjected to unwanted sexual advances from men in powerful positions especially who want to take advantage of their vulnerability," she said.

"Especially in Africa where there’s a lot of poverty and people are looking for jobs, they know how to feed on peoples desperation.”

She also told a story about the experience of a young lady who reported to her about sexual demands from movie producers in Ghana.

“Just last week, an actress walked up to me and said she’s been trying to break up into the industry for several years but every producer wants to sleep with her and they named dropped some big actresses that they slept with before giving them roles... and threaten them, too blackball them in the industry if they refuse to cooperate,” Lydia added.

She said that the only way to fight this to a lasting end is to voice out.

Actress Lydia Forson has won many awards to her name including, the 2010 African Movie Academy Award Best Actress in a lead role and the 2012 Ghana Movie Awards Best Screenplay for the movie -'In The Cupboard'.

A Ghanaian man was caught right on camera as he was stealing money from the church offering bag during church service in Accra and the video has since gone viral.

The video shared by a Facebook User, Kwame Agyemang with a caption "Shameful Person". The undisclosed man was seen putting his hand into one of the offertory boxes.

A 17-year-old had a blackout in his eye due to what still seem impossible to many. A worm penetrated the boy's eye and left him instantly blind. The flatworm dug a hole in his eye, penetrated it and settled there which has caused the boy his eye. According to Newsmen, the worm has since caused the innocent boy extreme pain in his eye and distress.

The worm got to the retina and after an operation was carried out on him, the Opthalmologists discovered that the worm made holes through his iris and made it deep, leading to the total blackout of the boy's eye.

A man, Akilu Alhaji Saidu, has supposedly beaten his 3-year-old daughter, Saratu Yahuza to death. Following the evil and illegal act, Katsina State Police Command has apprehended Saidu.

The event played out when Saidu angrily and forcefully dragged his step-daughter into an unfinished building to unleash his angry on her in Yankara Village of Faskari Local Government, where he extremely hit her then broke her neck, leaving her to die.

DSP Gambo Isah, the Command's spokesperson, who attested to the reports disclosed that one man, Yahuza Yakubu, reportedly the biological father of the deceased girl disclosed the issue to the Police station in Faskari.

Isah revealed that the accused opened up of being responsible to her death during investigation and he pleaded with the police he committed such act due to the drive of psychotropic substance he took.

On Wednesday, a Minna Grade 1 Magistrate' Court put on hold the judgement of a 32-year-old man, Ayuba Salihu, who pleaded guilty for raping an 8-year-old girl inside a market.

The Prosecutor for the State Child Rights Protection Agency, Mr Abdullahi Mayaki, explained to the court that the incident took place on Aug. 31 near Gwari Market in Chanchaga Local Government Area.

Mayaki futher said that the offender seduced the minor with N100 into a market before forcefully penetrating her.

The act violates Section 18, sub-section 2 of Niger state Child Right Law.

The offence is measurable to life imprisonment, according newsmen report.

Chief Magistrate Hassan Mohammed, who ruled the accused guilty, adjourned the case until Sept. 12 for final judgement.

Hassan explained the adjournment will give the offender enough time to provide the medical expenses spent on the girl by her parents.

The chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Control Agency (LSACA), Dr. Oluseyi Temowo has strongly insisted that HIV/AIDS can no longer lead to death in Lagos.

Backing up his declaration, Temowo explained that necessities have been put in order to ensure quelling of HIV, treatment of HIV and total death sentence of HIV in the state by 2030, which will make Lagos State to disagree with any death on the reason of HIV/AIDS.

In order to carry out the 90-90-90 global initiative, he revealed at the 4th flag off ceremony of the Health Initiative Programme for rural residers in Poka, Eredo LCDA, Epe in Lagos State, that with the help of Governor Akinwinmi Ambode, the Agency has started the total scale HIV Testing Services across the State.

“By 2020, 90 per cent of the people would have known their HIV status and 90 per cent of those that know their status would be able to access Anti-retroval Treatment (ART), while those accessing ART would have suppressed viral load and would not be able to infect others. “Therefore, by 2030 in Lagos, we would have been able to eradicate the scourge. ‘

The event that was supported and approved by Governor's Wife, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, was organised by the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.

He said the Agency had gotten to the smallest section of the state to carry out free HIV testing Services and State residers are open to counselling and Testing Services in all over the government hospitals within the state.

On a weekly TV programme, Oil and Gas forum, NNPC claims latest survey carried out, depicts that the prices of petrol have fallen to N142 and N143, also that the price of cooking gas has dropped N2000 and N3800, following the location.

The sustained strategic intervention of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in the efficient supply and distribution petroleum products has led to significant fall in the prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), also known as cooking gas, nationwide.
A national survey by Oil and Gas Forum, NNPC’s weekly TV programme, indicated that in the last few weeks, the price of petrol has fallen steadily from N145 per litre to between N142 and N143 per litre in some stations across the country.
The study showed that NNPC Mega and affiliate stations across the country are selling the product for N143 per litre, while the pump price range from between N142 and N145 per litre in some major and independent marketers in Lagos, Abuja, Sokoto, Enugu, Delta and other major cities.
One of the respondents in the survey and a manager at an independent fuel retail station in Abuja, Mohammed Abdullahi, said the station currently sells petrol at N142 per litre in line with the prevailing market situation in order to sustain the turnover of the business and to attract more motorists to the station.
Another independent marketer in Mosimi, Emeka Ikechukwu, said the going ex-depot prices of PMS had dropped from N138 per litre in most depots to N133.28 in NNPC depots and between N130 and N131 per litre in private depots.
However, the situation is slightly different in Aba and Umuahia in Abia State and Calabar in Cross River State where most independent fuel stations as well as major marketers selling the product at N145 per litre.
The survey also showed a similar trend of drop in price for cooking gas with the average price for refilling 5kg cylinder at N2,215.96 from the former price of N2,500.00.
The study further revealed that states with the lowest average price for the 5kg LPG refill were Kaduna and Niger at N2,000; Kogi at N2,005.00; and Oyo at N2,033.33.
At the NNPC Mega and retail stations nationwide, a 12.5kg of cooking gas that was sold for N4,500 a few months ago is now sold for N3,800 while other retail outlets sell the same quantity for N4,000.
NNPC has sustained its interventions through sustained improvement in the supply of the products and remodeling of distribution channels to address sufficiency issues across the country.
The corporation has also stepped up the resuscitation of some of its critical pipelines and depots such as the Atlas Cove - Mosimi Depot Pipeline, Port-Harcourt Refinery – Aba Depot Pipeline, Kaduna – Kano Pipeline and the Kano Depot which have enhanced efficiency in products distribution.
Efforts are also ongoing by the NNPC to revamp and re-commission other critical pipelines and depots across the country to further push down the prices of petroleum products for the benefit of consumers.

KCNA had before now disclosed that the missile launch was in accordance to mark the 107th anniversary of Japan-Korea treaty of 1910, under which Tokyo colonised the Korean peninsula is tagged "shameful"

Pyongyang on the other-hand has disclosed they will carry out more tests.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has donated N5million to the widow and children of Osaze Omorogbe, a community leader killed and burnt by kidnappers for leading security agents to foil their operation.

Presenting the cheque to the widow and children on behalf of the Governor at a solemn ceremony at the family’s residence in Isawo, Ikorodu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community & Communications, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan praised the late Omoregbe for his heroic role.

Bamigbetan was received by the Chairman of the Community Development Association, Mr. Ahmed Yusuf.

Reading the condolence message personally signed by the Governor, the Special Adviser said the late Omoregbe paid the supreme sacrifice while responding to the Government’s charge to community development associations to support its effort to rid the state of kidnappers.

Part of the condolence message read, “It is with deep grief that I share your sorrow on the unfortunate death of your father, husband and breadwinner, Mr. Osaze Omoregbe.

“At a time our administration is consolidating partnership with our communities and their courageous and committed leaders, your benefactor stood up to be counted. He supported the forces of light seeking to crush the notorious kidnappers who had turned your neighbourhood into a jungle of death. In that patriotic response to our call to join hands and collectively secure our communities, he paid the supreme price.”

Receiving the cheque, the widow, Mrs. Omodunni Omoregbe who was short of words, broke into tears.

Speaking on behalf of the LCDA, the chairperson, Mrs. Jumoke Ademehin-Jumbo thanked the Lagos State Government for coming to the rescue of the family.

Bamigbetan, who led a delegation including the Senior Special Assistant on Community Affairs, Alhaji Tajudeen Quadri; the chairperson of Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area, Mrs. Jumoke Ademehin-Jumbo; the chairperson of the Community Development Committee, Alhaja K.A. Damole and their teams, prayed at the graveside of the deceased.

The deceased is survived by his wife, and two children, Adesuwa and Osaze.

The late Omoregbe, who led the security committee of the Olorunsogo Community Development Association, had alerted the police on hearing heavy bullet shots of kidnappers seeking to capture a victim.

On arrival, the police and soldiers asked him to lead them to the area. All of them were ambushed by the kidnappers and killed.

On Thursday, Ayuba Salihu, age 32, rape suspect, confessed to Niger State Child Right Protection Agency how he lured minor with N100 and had carnal knowledge with an 8-year-old pupil.

The supposed rapist, who is a tailor of New Market, near Gwari Market in Chanchaga Local Government, attested that his offence of sexually abusing the little girl.

“I saw her in front of my shop crying that she misplaced N100 out of the money she sold from pure water and I gave her the N100.

“The following time I saw her hawking, I called her to buy water but the devil lured me into the act.

“I am sorry to have engaged in such an act with a little girl, I promise never to repeat such act again, please forgive me,” Salihu pleaded with the agency.

The minor's grandmother told the agency that she sent her to purchase N50 pepper in the morning of August 26, but was not where to be found until 9pm in the evening.

“I became worried when she did not return home early.

“I called my step-son and we both went round looking for her because we thought she had been kidnapped.

“It was during the search that we saw her walking to the house at night.

“I asked where she had being and she did not respond until my step-son started beating her that she told us where she was.

“She confessed that a man, who is a tailor in the market, has been having sexual intercourse with her anytime she passes the area.”

The grandmother disclosed that the girl said that the mam had sexually abuse her after luring her to a corner.

The minor said:

“He called me that he wanted to buy pure water, after buying the water, he held my hand and told me that we should go and flirt.

“I told him no, but he forcefully dragged me to a lonely area and brought out his male organ and penetrate me.

“He has had carnal knowledge of me five times and after the act, sometimes he would give me N10, N50 and N100 and warned me not to tell anyone or else, he would deal with me,” the girl said.

Mrs Mariam Kolo, the Director-General of the agency, said that the accused rapist will be under the custody of the police for further investigation.

Kolo said the street hawking and begging throw children to all kinds of social dangers, further urged parents to keep away from pushing their kids to such risks.

Four Police officers serving under the Lagos Police Command were apprehended and detained over the allegations of extortion after the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris commanded their arrest, the Police Compliant Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU) explained.

The accused officers, two Sergeants and two Inspectors, with their power extorted N100,000 from a Nigerian after putting allegations of being a scammer on an innocent person.

Assistant Commissioner of Police in Charge, (PCRRU), Abayomi Shogunle, issued a statement about the crime committed, and said that a Nigerian on August 17 reported that along Ogudu Road, two police officers stopped his car and with their power collected his phone and accused him of being a scammer and pushed him to give them the sum of N100,000.

Shogunle said:

“The Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit, PCRRU, immediately registered the case and ticket number PCRRU972905 was issued.

“The author of the post (name withheld) was contacted and a meeting between him and PCRRU investigators took place at the Force Headquarters Annex, Moloney Street, Lagos, on Monday, August 21.

“The Police officers involved— two Inspectors and two Sergeants attached to Ogudu Divison, Lagos State— have been identified and removed from duty that involves any form of contact with members of the public, pending the conclusion of a detailed investigation.

“PCRRU preliminary investigation showed that the policemen, on August 16, at about 11a.m., intercepted the complainant along Ogudu Road and in the course of their interaction went beyond their mandate by going through the contents of the complainant’s mobile phone.

“Bank statement confirms that the complainant, following the orders of one of the officers, transferred N15,000 into the account of a third party (name withheld).

“The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has directed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2, Lagos, to carry out a detailed investigation into this alleged misconduct and appropriate disciplinary action taken against anyone found to have erred.

“All four policemen and bank statement have been handed over to the AIG Zone 2 today (yesterday) by PCRRU investigators for the required action.

“Members of the public are once again reminded that the PCRRU is open 24 hours every day to receive and resolve all complaints relating to issues of Police misconduct from across the country."

At Achhalda in Aurraiya district, not less than 78 passengers of Delhi-bound 12225 Kaifiyat Express when severely wounded after a five carriage-train went off-track and ran into a recycling carriage.

According to Principal Secretary Home, Arvind Kumar, most of the injuries sustained happened in a railcar that capsized.

The terrible accident has disturbed traffic on the busy Delhi-Howrah route and many trains coming have been re-routed. Also many trains have been cancelled from moving.

The accident that happened around 2.40am near Railway Gate Number 14 Achhaalda woke people from their bed.

The pilot also sustained injuries.

According to the Principal Secretary, Home, the rescue mission had been done and a rescue train is on the way to carry them to their destination.

Following the accident that occurred, four engineers was immediately suspended.

WWE Wrestler, John Cena's motto looks not to only inspire the WWE star, but also his fans.

His fans decided to show how much he meant to them as a thank you to the motivation.

Just last week, Cricket Wireless published a video of John Cena being presented so many letters that his fans wrote to him.

The fans who were suffering from several illnesses, sicknesses and challenges expressed how the WWE star has helped motivated them in high spirit regardless of their problems.

It became so-so emotional as John Cena began to read the letter loud and didn't know the fans were in the other room listening to him.

On getting to one of the so touching message from a young fan whose mother was dealing with breast cancer and the fans rushed out from a paper wall to hug the WWE star.

John Cena wasn't in any way expecting such emotional surprise, even though he is known to be a though guy.

“You guys do the work, I mean that,” he said as he cries out. “Don’t think that you’re the only one who doesn’t have challenges to face every day. You all lead by example and I mean it when I say it, never give up.”
