Disc Jockey, DJ Cuppy who is the daughter of Oil business magnate, Femi Otedola has unbelievably said that her father's name was not opening doors for her in her career.

In a chat with E-Daily,DJ Cuppy said though she is the daughter of an oil magnate, her dad’s name rarely opens all doors for her. “People have to understand that just because I was born into my family does not mean that it opens all doors, that is everyone’s outside perspective. My inside perspective is just being someone’s child; how can being someone’s child be used against you? I can walk into a room and before I even open my mouth, everyone has decided, and it’s like you are not giving a young woman a chance to even prove herself.”

The DJ further said she is not like Davido who uses his father's wealth and influence to make way for himself.

“The only difference between Davido and I is that he decided to use the influence as an advantage from an early stage. So David was like I am ‘omo baba olowo’ (OBO), take it or leave it! I’m not that kind of person, he was smart though, because before you can even do anything, he has already told you he is the son of a millionaire. The manager of the late Dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns has revealed that the singer knew she will not live long on earth even before they met.

According to Bullet, Ebony told him of a death prophecy over her [Ebony] the very first day.

Ebony died in a gory accident on last Thursday, near Mankranso on the Sunyani-Kumasi Highway.

Immediately after the news of her death broke, there have a number of prophets who have claimed that they predicted her tragic death but she failed to heed their advice.

But in his first interview after Ebony's death, Bullet debunked the claims that his artiste ignored such prophecies.

Speaking to Abeku Santana on Okay FM's drive time on Monday which was monitored by YEN, Bullet revealed that in his first meeting with Ebony, she disclosed that a woman had told her that "her success would come through Ruff and Smooth but she will not live long thereafter".

"Whatever that woman had told Ebony had come to pass except the death prophecy and we were doing everything we could to avert it", YEN heard him say.

Bullet therefore asked that those making those claims should leave Ebony to rest in peace.

The first time I watched blue movies was way back when I was in class 8 when we sneaked with my friends to a local video hall. I had never experienced it. Having been raised in strict Christian background I vowed to my 13-year-old self never to go back to watching blue movies. That night and for several weeks I was haunted as the pictures from the blue movies kept playing in my mind.

In high school, I was an active CU member. In fact, I was appointed as CU chairman in form two.

But towards the end of form two, I would see people on Saturdays watching movies in our TV hall. One night I had stayed behind to read, so as I left the hall to dormitories at around 1 am, I saw that TV was still. When I peeped to see what they were watching, right on my face as pornographic movies.

I quickly walked away. Here’s the problem I could not stop thinking about it. I finally yielded to the pressure. I was so eager for the weekends. But since I was a CU chairman and I had a character to uphold I had to be clever.

So I would sneak up to the window and feed my mind with the images. It’s dark, it's late, I’m wondering what if the askari comes and find me hanging on the window.

My grades went low and my concentration in class fizzled out.

During holidays, that became the trend. I remember one time in form three my friend and I were accidentally locked inside the computer lab. To me that was it! The whole night I was hopping from one website to the other.

I cleared my high school, and thank God my grades were good by my standards!

After doing a course in shipping management, I got a job in a company in Mombasa. At that time, I could not help it. I was a slave of pornography.

Here’s the twist, back at home I was appointed as the youth leader in our local church. I lead church services, I talked with them, but inside I was a mess.

In my first job, there was nothing else that I was doing on my desk besides watching pornography. It did not help that they had pretty fast internet. I would quickly finish my work to get back to my hobby.

That job lasted for only four months after a big blunder that cost the company a fortune. This was after hours of watching sexual material.

My self-esteem was really low, I couldn’t even get a girlfriend because in my mind I thought they would know what I was doing in secret.

In my second job, same thing, same behaviour. In fact, it moved from bad to worse. I had started having severe headaches at this time. I would keep taking painkillers. I started getting hallucinations.

When someone was talking to me, I’d blankly be staring at empty space. Then I would scream, to chase away pictures. This happened a lot of time.

But in 2013, my sister’s epileptic condition had gotten worse as well.

I turned prayers, but every time I would backslide back to my vice. There’s a time I watched pornography for over 8 hours. Obviously masturbating in the bathroom, feeling bad and still going back to it. I was chained.

That really affected me, I would be weak, feeling guilty, self-shame and clearly, my self-esteem was at low.

You see, I couldn’t open up to anyone for fear of being judged.

I remember my prayer on this particular day. I asked God to exchange my addiction with bhang.

I had friends who were addicted to the substance, and they looked happy! I was stressed. Perhaps it would calm me down.

On that day I think I was at the end of the road. My phone was the first victim and a voice told me that I had to share my story.

The following weekend we had a youth kesha in my local church and was by default the MC. Funny thing is that the church was unusually full. So I asked if anyone had something to share. No one was standing. Silence

I found myself telling the congregation that I had something to share.

There was pin-drop silence as I narrated my story. I detailed my account in an intense one-hour long narration. You could hear paper drop. “What’s he talking about” their eyes seemed to ask me

After an hour of sharing. “I have a feeling God has begun the healing journey with me, I don’t know how many of us would like to begin this journey with me,” I asked.

Nothing.

Even my closest friends did not come close to me. I was like the plague. They started judging me, they did not want to be associated with porn guy.

I lived with that stigma for a couple of months standing up to the rebuke of telling my story.

But a certain pastor in Mombasa helped me with advice in series of meetings. I was in a journey back to recovery.

But on my end, the struggle had just begun and it was not easy. Sometimes I could share my story, and still, watch the videos at night.

Enough was enough.

I met a guy from Teens Development Initiative that ran counselling in high school. They decided to include me as part of their team. We did over 60 schools with storytelling taking centre stage.

Without realizing it, that period had helped me heal. I had stopped watching pornographic material.

My life had been crowded by either the teen initiative or epilepsy awareness events.

I tell my story to encourage people that it’s possible to unchain from difficult vices. Refocus your mind to less harmful things.

I would later be appointed as a board member at National Epilepsy Coordination board for my efforts in creating awareness and reaching out to the affected.

Seeking help for my sister really helped me evade the vice that was eating me up.

A fed-up Indian man, Biswajit Sarkar, was reported to have stolen his wife's kidney after her parents failed to complete the payment of his dowry.

Sarkar conspired with his doctor to remove one kidney from his wife, 28-year-old Rita's body in order to balance his dowry payment.

“Around two years ago, I began suffering from acute stomach ache. My husband took me to a private nursing home in Kolkata, where he and the medical staff told me that I would be fine after removing my inflamed appendix through surgery,” Rita Sarkar said, after discovering the other day that she doesn’t have one kidney.

Rita’s father explained that she and Biswajit married in 2005, and at the time, her family gave the groom’s gold, silver and 180,000 Indian rupees () in cash, but they always kept asking for more.

The painful exit of Ghanaian dancehall singer, Ebony Reigns, has thrown Ghanaians in the state of shock.

The songstress, Ebony and three people were in a jeep with reg AS 497--16 when the accident happened.

The viral photos of the accident which KINGSLEY IWU shared earlier today have it that a military man was among the victims.

It was later confirmed that the man is a soldier in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The bodies of the deceased have been moved to the Mankranso Government Hospital.

Crocodiles are dangerous animals. Some say they are deadlier than sharks. Just stare into the jaws of a crocodile and that might be the last thing you see. Its powerful jaws can snap human bones like twigs.

Yet, one Kenyan man on the shores of Lake Baringo has taken it upon himself to feed the reptiles. He has been doing this for 15 years now, and began when he was just 10. Unbelievable, isn’t it? We thought so too when we first heard the story of Moses Emuria and what has become his biggest hobby; feeding crocodiles.

“My first encounter was in 2003. I had gone fishing. One crocodile was sleeping by the shores of the lake. I think I woke it up with my footsteps. I offered it fish. It ate and did not attack me. It was friendly and I was amazed,” says Emuria.

“The following day, I found the crocodile at the same spot. I gave it fish again and still, it did not attack me. It became a habit. Today, I feed up to five crocodiles every day and non has ever attacked me,” says the Standard Three school dropout.

Emuria’s love for crocodiles at Kampi ya Samaki Beach has since attracted many people, curious to know how he does what he does.

Residents are amazed by how Emuria has managed to tame the reptiles, yet they themselves live in fear of being attacked. Those who spoke to The Standard recalled how they have lost several animals to the reptiles and are always on the lookout to evade attacks.

In case the crocodiles are not on the shore by the time he brings them food, all Emuria does is to tap the water. Immediately, you see the crocodiles rushing towards him. As scary as it is, Emuria does not take off.

“After the first encounter with a crocodile, which ended well, I decided to feed them. I feed at least five crocodiles a day and it has been a fulfilling journey,” says Emuria.

He believes the first crocodile never attacked him because he constantly fed it. “I think this is why they are attracted to me. They are drawn to me by the smell of fish.”

Emuria says he was fearful the day more crocodiles came out. “I thought they would attack me but to my relief, they went away peacefully after I gave them fish,” Emuria recalls.

“I collect more fish and their intestines from fishermen and use them to feed the animals. I learnt how to call them out after a lot of observation,” he avers.

Emuria has even gone further to give the animals names to differentiate them. He has given the name Kongo to the oldest crocodile. He has named two younger crocodiles after his two children.

“I decided to name them because I felt they had become a part of my family. The names make it easy for me to identify them,” Emuria declares.

“I named them Sylia and Eriko. Each crocodile I feed has a name.”

He says he names them as per their behaviour. Emuria has named one of the crocodiles Kigeugeu, due to its unpredictable nature. This was after it tried to bite him as he fed them.

“I can identify them from a distance just by looking at them. Kongo’s tail is cut after it hit it against a tree.”

“I have taught many people how to deal with them. I also know when to avoid them.”

Emuria played a key role when the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and Kenya Forestry Service (KFS) needed to transfer some crocodiles to a museum in Kitale.

Residents say Emuria’s interaction with the reptiles has reduced crocodile attacks, both on humans and livestock.

“Everyone knows Emuria because of feeding the dreaded animals. He has also been key in recovering bodies whenever someone drowns, especially because he knows how to deal with the crocodiles,” a resident, Mary Bii, says.

She says crocodile attacks have drastically gone down over the past five years.

“We believe crocodiles are not attacking our livestock as they did before because he feeds them,” says Bii.

Simon Ochieng’, a fish trader, says Emuria’s skills to ‘tame’ crocodiles have attracted tourists to the area and boosted the economy.

“When the tourists come to see crocodiles and how he handles them, we get more customers to buy fish and the artefacts we make,” says Ochieng’.

Emuria urged the authorities to offer him more training on how to handle crocodiles.

“I have never been trained. I feel that I can do a better job with some training,” he says.

Local tourists pay Sh500 per person while their international counterparts part with Sh1,500 before Emuria calls the reptiles out. He makes up to Sh5,000 a day.

County KWS senior warden Dickson Too has promised to ensure Emuria’s talent is nurtured. “We know how risky it can be especially without training. We understand how such talent can be of help to us,” adds Too.

Seventh Day Adventist preacher, Nicolas Niyibikora, in Rwanda, told his listeners that “women are out of God’s favour” during the broadcast on Amazing Grace radio in January, warning “there is nothing good you can find in women”.

“If you’ve read the Bible, who brought the sin into the world?” he asked listeners, adding: “It was not a man.”

The sermon has created many reactions in the country and many human rights groups with Pro-Femme Twese Hamwe holding a press conference warning such words“can bring hatred and conflicts among Rwandans if nothing is urgently done about it”.

The women’s rights group made a complaint to the regulatory body Rwanda Media Commission (RMC), which is set to meet to discuss the issue next week.

Did Samuel Mwema Muli, 47, kill more than 7,000 people from various parts of Kenya in less than ten years?

In 2014, he candidly opened up to the Nairobian detailing his ‘dark’past and what drove him to change.

His outrageous satanic mission, the preacher at a city church claims, began one afternoon in 1992 when he killed his eight-month-old son, a heinous act that saw him part ways with his first wife.

Born in Roysambu, Nairobi, Muli, who spent three years in jail for mentioning the names of powerful people as devil worshippers, went to primary school in Mathare and secondary school in the city before studying journalism.

“After graduation, I was employed by a news agency in Nairobi where I overheard fellow scribes talk about devil worshipping. I did not believe the talk. But what attracted me to it was the money,” Muli claims.

One Thursday evening after work, Muli says he was walking outside the KPCU Building to his Majengo house when he stumbled upon a letter addressed to him.

“It was an invitation to cover a fundraising event for street children,” he says.

“I met a shamba boy (name withheld) dressed in black. He welcomed me saying the chief guest expected at the event was a powerful cabinet minister,” he claims.

Muli says at the entrance, the shamba boy stripped naked and took him to a woman who introduced herself as Francisca from Kiambu.

“She pulled a drawer, counted crispy Sh75,000(N267,000) notes and handed them to me,” he claims.

“When I arrived at about 5pm, I lied to my colleagues that I had hit a jackpot and invited them for drinks.”

Muli says he spent the cash in three days and decided to go back to the hall one more time.

“I met Francesca once more and she led me to another office where I saw three screens written ‘Kenya,’ ‘Uganda,’ and ‘South Africa,’” he claims.

Inside the hall hung TV screens. On one of the screens, Muli says, he saw the face of his 18-month-old first born son.

“Then a naked woman came, gave me a sharp razor, commanded me to cut the face of my son on the screen and gave me Sh85,000(305,000),” Muli adds.

“Three days later, my son died mysteriously. His private parts and tongue were missing when we buried him.”

Three months after the incident, he claims he was officially recruited as a member of the cult when the team leader took all his finger and toe prints. Thereafter, he started earning Sh9,000 every Friday, more money than the agency paid. So he quit.

With a steady flow of easy cash, he claims, he invested in the transport business and acquired a fleet of buses that operated between Nairobi-Kisumu and Eldoret-Nakuru-Nairobi. An enquiry by The Nairobian however revealed that the bus company he names is registered at the Kenya Revenue Authority under a different person.

Muli adds that in 1997, he sacrificed all the passengers aboard one of his buses near Kericho.

“I was behind the grisly road accidents between Naivasha and Nakuru. I could board a bus or matatu and alight before the crash,” Muli claims.

“That period, I fed on women breasts and two glasses of human blood daily. By the time I quit, the cult had more than 500 followers in Nairobi. But all my wealth was taken by the cult when I quit.”

In 1997, Muli claims he quit when an angel appeared to him at night.

“I woke up the following day at a church in Nairobi after falling nude from the ceiling and sending the faithful scampering for safety. The three women who remained covered my nudity,” he claims.

“The police were called, but since there was no damage on the ceiling, they left.”

Musyoki, one of Muli’s cousins who lives in Salama, told The Nairobian that the preacher has not been in good terms with the family since he joined the cult, and has been somehow confused to date.

“The moment we learnt that he had joined devil worshipping, no one wanted to be associated with him. Even now that he is saved,” he said. (SDE)

The police in India on Wednesday apprehended a quack doctor, who allegedly infected 33 people in Unnao district with HIV over the last 10 months, using the same syringe to administer injections. Unnao SP Pushpanjali Devi said that Rajesh Yadav was arrested from near his house at Shivbakshkhera village in the district and will be produced in court on Thursday.

On January 31, Yadav was booked under sections 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 269 (negligence likely to spread disease) of the IPC and under Indian Medical Council Act, on a complaint filed by Dr Pramod Kumar Dohrey, the medical superintendent of Bangarmau Community Health Centre. The case was lodged at Bangarmau police station.

The 33 HIV-positive cases were identified during three health camps held on January 24, 25 and 26 at Premganj, Chakmirpur and Kirwidiyapur villages in Bangarmau area. For at least a year, Yadav had gone from house to house across three villages in Unnao with the promise of “magic treatment” — an injection and teen puriya (three packets) — for just Rs 10. He administered this “treatment” to at least 50 people a day but with the same syringe, washing it with water before injecting the next patient.

A team comprising members of the National Aids Control Organisation and UP AIDS Control Society on Wednesday visited affected villages in Bangarmau, the district hospital and CMO Dr S P Chaudhary’s office.

Unnao District Magistrate Ravi Kumar NG said: “The issue needs a detailed study as it goes much deeper… This is why teams from NACO and UPACS spent the day here to analyse the matter. They have… recommended holding more health camps to understand the exact issue… Further steps will be taken based on the report filed by the team.”

A six-year-old boy has accused two ladies of sexually abusing him over a period of time, leading to him developing a swollen penis and a bloated tummy.

The boy who was accompanied by his mother to the studios of Adom FM shocked listeners when he claimed in an interview that the ladies, under the pretext of sending him to buy them yam, routinely camped him in a room and allegedly sexually abused him in turns.

According to the boy (name withheld), the regular abuse has resulted in him having a swollen penis as he experiences severe pains accompanied with blood during the passage of urine.

The boy who claimed that one of the ladies goes by the name Gladys, also known as Rasta, added that: “they pulled my nicker, rubbed my penis and when it became hard, they licked it and later sit on it; they have done it for four times”.

Mother of the boy who confirmed the story to Adom News said the ladies are her neighbours with whom she shared an apartment.

The woman added that the boy is liked by all and hence is the one the ladies and other tenants send on a daily basis.

According to her, she caused the arrest of the two ladies after coming to the knowledge that the two accused were attempting to vacate the house.

The ladies, have however denied engaging in any such act.

She says they are awaiting the results of further tests conducted on the boy to determine the extent of damage caused him.

Meanwhile, the two ladies are still in police custody.

A desperate young mother has put herself into a big mess after attempting to kill her 6-year-old son by putting poison into his food.

Terry Muthoni, a single mother from Kagongo village in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County, Kenya was accused of trying to kill her child so that she could get married to her new lover.

The 22-year-old mother could not raise the Sh300,000 bond that the court had demanded for her to be released after she denied the charges. She will continue to cool her heels in prison until March 21, when her case will commence.

Attempts by the young mother to beg the Kerugoya Chief Magistrate, Samuel Soita, to reduce the bond because she could not secure a surety fell on deaf ears.

“I am not able to raise the bond you granted me due to the fact that I am a single mother, sick and no one wants to stand surety for me,” she begged.

The prosecution objected to the bond being reduced, submitting that the accused was likely to jump bail if released.

The mother remains in custody, even as she awaits an analytical report done by the Government Chemist on the poisoned food to ascertain the lethal substance used.

The magistrate said the bond could not be reduced because of the gravity of the charges.

Despite not having representation when the matter came up for mention last week, Muthoni denied the allegation.

Eleven witnesses, including the victim, are lined up to appear for the prosecution to prove its case against Muthoni.

A house wife, Joke, has asked an Agege Customary Court, Lagos, to dissolve her 26-year-old marriage to her 54-year-old husband, Azeez Isiaka, over alleged lack of love, laziness and acts of irresponsibility.

Joke, a civil servant, in her petition for divorce, said that her unemployed husband had refused to seek new employment since he lost his job years ago.

She told the court that his husband had become insensitive to the family welfare because of his joblessness.

“My husband does not beat me, but l go through psychological and verbal abuse in his hands every day.

“He is not appreciative of all my endeavours, embarrasses me at will and `talks down at me even in the public.”

” The emotional stress is unbearable; l pray the court to separate us so that I can live comfortably.

“He is lazy and frustrated, thereby transferring his aggression to everybody around him,” she said.

The respondent, who did not object to the application for dissolution of the 26 years old marriage, did not also deny the applicant’s allegations.

He told the court that he stopped contributing to the welfare of the children’s upkeep three years ago because he had not job, adding that the petitioner was free to re-marry.

The court’s President, Mrs. Ibironke Elabor, who advised the estranged couple to keep the peace, adjourned the suit until Feb. 20, for alternative dispute resolution.

A 43-year-old Ghanaian farmer has been fined a sum of GHC3000(N238,410) and some items including a full-grown sheep, one crate of soft drinks, one bottle of club beer and a bottle of exotic Schnapps by the chief of Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni Valley District in Western Region, for having sexual intercourse with his three biological daughters, according to Ghanaweb.

Kwasi Aborle, who admitted having had sexual intercourse with his own daughters remorsefully told the chiefs and his elders, “ I don’t know what came over me”. He pleaded guilty to the charges of defilement and incest at the Chief's Palace as the chief, Nana Kwasi Somere II, who presided over the case pronounced the fines accordingly.

The three daughters whose names have been withheld due to security reasons are aged between 13 and 19 years.

According to an eye witness, the youngest of the three sisters who is 13 years old and has suffered months of sexual adventures from her beloved father, was haunted by the abominable act and reported the appalling deeds to her close friend who also informed the chief of the area about the matter.

Kwasi Aborle, who was found guilty of committing incest after it was discovered that he had been sexually exploiting his innocent daughters for close to three years has been ordered to pay the fine and also to provide a the listed items including a bottle of exotic Schnapps to be used for purification rites to avert any punishment that might befall the town due to his actions.

Speaking to Otec News' reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, the chief Linguist for Bogoso , Nana kwaku Ampoma explained that, Kwasi Aborle was reprimanded by the local chief in the area for same offenses last year, hence he deserves severe punishment to serve as deterrents to other recalcitrant citizens who may emulate same.

According the reports, the case has not been reported to the police or DOVSU yet.

Pastor Olawoyin of a new generation church has told the court customary court sighted in Mapo, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital that he always prostrate to his wife before he would be given the chance to make love to her.

Mrs Olawoyin told the court that despite her tight schedule, she always ensured she found time for home affairs with her husband, contrary to what her husband, pastor Segun Olawoyin, had told the court about their sex life.

The pastor also alleged that she had created crisis in the church, which, he said, made many people to stop attending services.

Funmilayo, a mother of four, while denying other allegations, told the court it was true that she told her husband he would “regret his life for being lazy” because, to her, he was relying on only money that came into the church through the church members instead of starting his own business.

She said she was amazed at what she alleged was the relationship between her husband and a friend of hers who was also a church member, who she said is the new wife of her husband.

“We have been married for the past 21 years. I don’t want to leave him. We never fought until a woman he has married now started coming to our church. It is true I am always busy, but I never stopped him whenever it was time for sex,” she said.

The president of the court, Chief Ademola Odunade, held that since the man was adamant about dissolving the marriage, he would advise Funmilayo to concentrate on her business.

Odunade said the three years period during which the couple separated before the husband sought for divorce and the wife was begging for reconciliation had created a vacuum in the marriage, and held it was advisable to dissolve the marriage to avoid further crisis.

He ordered that the husband should take possession of their four children since they were old enough to take care of themselves, but asked their father to ensure he cares for them.

The incident reportedly played out in Accra, Ghana.

It was gathered from a social media commentary on a photo of the supposed plywood sold to a victim in place of flat screen TV in Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

It was said that the buyer negotiated a price with the TV set sellers and they tested a TV before packaging it for the victim who carried it home only to realised that it was a plywood that was wrapped with black polythene with stickers with the exact look of a new TV set.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has disclosed that he was sexually exploited by an 18-year-old lady when he was just 11-years-old, Ghanaweb reports.

Recounting his childhood experience, he opened up about how the 18-year-old lady from Chorkor convinced him to play house -a game popularly known among Ghanaian children as ‘Maame ne Paapa’, where she played the role of a mother and he the father.

He spoke about his “defilement” at the 2017 Orgasm Conference at the Accra International Trade Fair Centre on December 26, 2017.

“I quite remember the first day I broke my virginity, it was rape….at the age of I think 11 years. We had this girl who was 18-years and was from Chorkor, and I from Sukura. So we did what we call ‘Maame ne Paapa’. So she said she was the ‘Maame’ and I was the ‘Paapa’.”

According to the legal practitioner, he was not privy to what it meant to have an erection at such a tender age thus the act can be classified as sexual abuse. He added that he had the power to report her because criminal offence has no expiry date.

“….I can even today report her because she defiled me Kwabena Ampaw because criminal offence has no expiry date.”

Ampaw condemned the act adding that most of such cases happen in compound houses where the older girls take advantage of innocent little boys to satisfy themselves.

“Most of these things happen especially in compound houses. You know where you have a young girl telling a young boy you are my husband. Some of them start to have sex without the young ones without their consent which is very bad.”

Legally, he stated that there are consequences for such immoral acts revealing that anyone found guilty is likely to face a maximum of 25-years in prison or a minimum of 7-years depending on the gravity of the situation

Ampaw warned, “If you are a lady and you have sex with a guy who is below the age of 16 years, you have defiled him. You can go to prison maximum 25-years and minimum 7-years.”

Controversial marriage counsellor, George Lutterodt has emphatically stated that, it is criminal for a male partner to ejaculate into his female partner especially if she warns against it during sexual intercourse.

Following the apprehension of the Chief Executive of Innoson Group, Chief Innocent Chukwuma by the hands of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Innocent, originally known as Maduka was carried away the EFCC on Tuesday in his Enugu residence.

In a statement sent to DAILY POST on Wednesday by the spokesman of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Comrade Emma Powerful, he described the arrest as an attack on Ndigbo.

The Ohanaeze Youth Council also toed same line in a statement signed by Comrade Obinna Achionye, its

National Vice president and the national secretary, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.

The youths said, “We are concerned over the commando-like manner, with which the EFCC clamped down on the Patron of Igbo Youths worldwide without proper invitation; the arrest may cause another catastrophe in this festive season.

“This is the highest level of impunity against Igbo nation and another attempt to cripple economic fortunes of Ndigbo and the Igbo.

“There will be massive protests by Igbo youths and other ethnic nationalities youth groups in Enugu, Abuja and Lagos before the 31st December 2017 if the EFCC fails to release him unconditionally. The EFCC should be ready to arrest millions of igbo youths during the protest.

“The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide calls on President Buhari to call Magu to order before it is too late; we e demand for the immediate and unconditional release of Chief Innocent Chukwuma, chairman Innoson Group of Companies; enough is enough.”

On its part, the IPOB said it condemns “in the strongest possible terms the recent and ongoing harassment of notable Biafran business men, especially those of Igbo extraction by the Nigerian Government and her security agencies.

“Not content with the economic emasculation of the Biafran territories through decades of punitive policies, the few successful businesses that made it against all odds like Chief Innocent Chukwuma the owner of Innoson Motors who is now being harassed and humiliated publicly by agencies headed by Northerners for three major reasons.

“This include ongoing policy of de-industrialisation of the East. Had Innoson sited his factory in Lagos or Kaduna, every possible line of credit would have been extended to him but due to the fact his company is located in Enugu, he must be chased down and destroyed. This hopefully is to serve as a deterrent to others who might be entertaining the idea of relocating their businesses to Biafraland.

“Politics of appeasement and sabotage of collective interest by Ohaneze Ndigbo, PANDEF and similar interest groups. Age long South East/South South political philosophy of cowardly acquiescence to the dictates of the North, regardless of the consequences on the psyche and well being of the masses, is a major motivator for government agencies, headed by Northerners, to destroy indigenous Biafran businessmen at will.

“Nigeria is guided by the knowledge that politicians from the two geo-political zones that make up Biafra are terrified of the mythical might of their Northern masters and will be prepared to condone every manner of evil against their own people.

“Ohaneze Ndigbo and South East governors are to blame for this major embarrassment and humiliation of the topmost entrepreneur in black Africa. What Innoson Motors has accomplished so far, no Indigenous business in Sub-Saharan Africa has been able to do.

“If Innoson Motors were owned by a Northern Hausa Fulani man, he would have been revered and idolised to high heavens. But because it is a business owned and run by a Biafran and equally sited in Biafraland, it must be destroyed.

“Since the emergence of this Buhari regime, Biafrans of Igbo extraction have been lurching from one persecution another. After Operation Python Dance which had the backing of Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership and South East governors, the Buhari regime has turned its attention to the destruction of economic interests in the South East starting with Innoson Motors, in the hope of frustrating the first indigenous automobile company in West Africa because he opened his factory in Igboland.

“The effect of this ongoing persecution of Innoson Motors Company is as a direct result of the impotency of Igbo leadership exemplified by Nwodo’s stewardship of Ohaneze Ndigbo.

“Today, the effects of the age long sabotage of public interest by the likes of Ohaneze Ndigbo and imposed political leadership have started manifesting negatively on our people. Arewa Consultative Forum, Northern Governors’ Forum and Arewa Caucuses in the National Assembly will never allow Dangote to be humiliated the same way Ohaneze, South East governors and Abuja based politicians allowed Chief Chukwuma to be so publicly insulted.

“We are warning those involved in the orchestrated campaign to frustrate Innoson Motors to desist from their evil act before it is too late.”
