A Kenyan man, 54, has been charged to Court for raping his 11-year-old step-daughter.

The man, Hesbon Mochiemo Anuri , was said to have carried out the rape offence on Febuary 9 in Bahati estate.

Mochiemo -when the mother of the girl had gone out- told the girl to prepare dinner for the family. And at midnight he went into the little girl's room and raped her while he covered her mouth.

He seriously warned her not to tell anyone, saying she was ‘sweeter than her mother’.

The Police record revealed that he locked her in the toilet so that she won't communicate with her siblings in the morning hours, but she reported to her mother when she returned in the evening.

The female minor's mother quickly alerted the police who apprehended Mochiemo.

The step-father detached himself from the charges and was released on a Sh300,000(N1 million) bond. The case was adjourned till March 20.

A man identified as Nakumatt was chased out of a Kenyan City Mall, Nyali, because he was unable to pay rent. Few locals saw the opportunity to raid the man's shop as the goods in the shop was cleared to be auctioned by the owner.

The Landlord dragged the retailer to court for owing accumulating rent of Sh27.8 million(N98,889,371) and the court gave order to the tenant to vacate the shop immediately.

When the retailer was acting to the court order, a man was apprehended as he was putting on two coats, two pairs of jeans and five checked shirts the same time to escape with it.

It was supposed that the man was employed to remove the goods from the building.

The apprehended explained to the police that he was only trying to enjoy what it is like to wear expensive cloths, saying he was not stealing it.

A Ghanaian man, 38, has been apprehended by the Assin Fosu police for threatening to take his life.

The man, Joseph Acquah, a resider of Assin Kwaata area of Ghana threatened to commit suicide because his wife refused to make love with him for 3 months now.

Acquah's wife in order to stop him from taking his life, reported him to the police and he was apprehended, according to Adom news.

ASP Magnus Rendorf Sam, Assin Fosu District police commander, explained that he was quickly apprehended after his wife reported the case because it is against the laws of the country.

The commander who said Acquah will be punished accordingly, also urged Ghanaians to seek marital help from families and friend instead of committing suicide.

It was remebered that President Buhari who arrived Ghana on Monday to honor the country's 61st Independence Anniversary gave a speech as a Guest of Honour.

President Buhari while speaking at the Special Guest of Honour Speech during Ghana’s 61st Independence Anniversary Parade at the Black Star in Accra, applauded Ghana's President, Akufo-Addo and assured him that he will help Ghana fight corruption.

“I congratulate you on your efforts to fight corruption which has eaten into the public fibre…Your Excellency I can assure you that you have a good partner in me in tackling endemic corruption,” the President Buhari said.

However, in his bid to be of help to Ghana in fighting corruption in the country, Ghanaians have expressed their furiousness over the statement of President Buhari.

Many Ghanians who blasted Buhari warned him to leave Ghana with his people who they accused to have corrupted their country.

Many others reacting to the statement from Buhari told the President that he should not bring snakes, and monkeys to swallow Ghana's money.

A released Kenyan woman who spent fives in prison for manslaughter has explained that she killed her husband because he used to physically abuse her.

She said she strangled her husband to death with rope when he went violent on him.

She also expressed how getting freedom has changed her life positively, also revealing that she is still pained by her action.

Name: Mercy Mwamba, 34, Hard time: 5 years, Crime: Manslaughter

My husband used to physically abuse me. Fed up, I moved out and rented my own house. But he came after me thinking that I was having an affair and started beating me.

He was drunk and I strangled him with a rope. I went to prison in 2012.

It haunts me that I killed him. I did not plan or want to kill my husband. He was after all the father of my two children, but my relationship with God helps me.

Today, our daughter, 15, lives with me while the younger one lives with her paternal relatives.

In prison, I learnt how to know and hear from God. I was a Catholic but I converted to SDA and I was baptised. I am a singer and I compose my songs. I also learnt how to do beadwork, tailoring, making baskets and serviette boxes.

I went to school up to Class Eight, but in prison I went up to Form Two and then decided that I wasn’t suited for it and started computer training.

I tried to seek forgiveness from my late husband’s family, but this was not possible. My parents told me not return there, saying that I did not know what they were thinking.

If he was still alive, I would not have left him. I now know God thus would have handled the whole situation better. I would have known that it was a spiritual battle, and dealt with it spiritually. I will not remarry though. I do not care about that anymore.

Akwasi Salifu, a 26-year-old Ghanaian man caught having sex with a sheep at Asuodei in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti region, will be forced to marry the ewe, Madam Rukai, owner of the sheep has revealed.

Madam Rukai who spoke in an interview on Wednesday 28 February 2018, with Ishmael Agyemang Duah, a local reporter, said the suspect was caught red-handed by her husband on Thursday 22 February 2018.

She said it was not the first time such an incident has occurred involving her sheep and this time “I will make sure he marries the sheep because the sheep is pregnant”.

She explained that about six months ago another sheep of hers gave birth to a human-like lamb and the traditional leaders in the area sanctioned her because it was considered abominable.

“I paid lot of money at the chief’s palace, I was disgraced and the whole community said it was my son who had intercourse with the sheep. But it was not my son. My son does not leave in this community,” she stated.

She further explained that: “Last Thursday [22 February 2018], around 12:00 am, we were in our room when my husband heard strange noise from the pen so he went out to check.

“When he got there, he saw Salifu having sex with one of the sheep. So we arrested him, we have his trousers, mobile phone, sandals and keys to his motorbike.

“His family accepted the misconduct and promised to bring leaders to settle the issue, but they rather told the boy to run from the community. The issue is now with the chief. The boy has confirmed that he had an intercourse with the sheep. A police officer yesterday shot his wife and five-year-old daughter at the Anti-stock Theft Unit's Suswa camp in Weseges area, Subukia, Kenya.

The 24-year-old constable was said to have quarrelled with his wife, Jane Njoki, 26, before killing her and their daughter in the 3am incident.

The officer escaped from the camp after he reportedly emptied 20 bullets into the woman's body.

Njoki’s brother, John Nderitu, said he heard the sound of gun shots from the camp but could not go in to find out what was happening because it was a protected area.

"I was shocked to learn later that my sister and her daughter had been killed," said Nderitu yesterday.

He said his sister and the officer had been married for seven months but they had domestic difficulties.

Njoki’s mother, Wambui Nderitu, was overcome by grief when she arrived at the camp.

She said was informed about her daughter's death at around 7am. However, she said police had given her little information about the shooting.

“I have no words. I cannot believe my daughter is dead. I am also shocked that the officer went on to kill an innocent girl,” said Wambui.

She said the man had threatened to kill Njoki on several occasions.

"Due to the unresolved differences, the two had parted ways. They later got back together without my knowledge," Wambui said.

There were reports the constable had threatened to kill Njoki two weeks ago and had vowed to stab his mother-in-law.

"Njoki had moved out of his house and had rented her own when the quarrels became unbearable. The officer has been threatening to kill her. I am not surprised. He also said he would stab me with a knife,” Wambui said.

She added: "My daughter was jovial and loving. She worked hard in her business and supported me financially. I feel sad to lose Njoki at such a prime age."

The county police boss, Hassan Barua, said the family arrived home at around 11pm.

However, a quarrel ensued after dinner and they went to bed without resolving the matter they had disagreed about.

“The two are said to have quarrelled again deep in the night, leading to the brutal murder of woman and child,” said Barua.

He said officers who rushed to the house after hearing the gun shots found the two bodies on the floor but the officer was missing. He left the weapon in the house.

"We have intensified our search for the officer, who will be arraigned in court for murder when he is arrested," Barua said.(SDE)
