For weeks now, there have been many reaction on Small Doctor who was once revealed to be a prison inmate. In a recent interview with Sunday Beats, he laughed over the rumours, and explained why he went to prison. He said “It is true that I was a bus conductor and a commercial motorcyclist. I also hawked sachet water but I thank God for the gift of life now because I am one of the most sought-after artistes at the moment. I just feel that there is no limitation to what anybody can achieve in life. Those locked up in prisons are human beings too and that is not the end of their lives, so I decided to reach out to them. Also, my colleague, Lamboginny, reached out to me and said he wished we should go to the prison and perform for them, so I gladly agreed. I have never been a prisoner and I laughed when I learnt that people thought I was once an inmate because of this gesture. I just feel we should always put a smile on the faces of other people regardless of any situation they are facing in life.” He said since he became famous, his mother had always advise him to return home late at night. “My mother is a teacher but she is very publicity-shy. She has never been a socialite and even those that live around her only know her as a landlady and not Small Doctor’s mother, simply because she is publicity-shy. She always tells me to make sure I don’t come to the house in the afternoon but at midnight. She is just a private person. However, I would have loved a little spotlight to shine on her because she has done so much and she is the best mom in the world,” he said. The Singer who was the Oritsefemi's best man at his wedding, said he doesn't have enough money to get married. “I don’t think I have enough money to get married but it would come at the perfect time. Definitely, I would love to get married soon and when it happens, it would be all over town that Small Doctor is getting married. When it is time, the world would know. Anytime from now, the miracle would happen and I would get married,” he said. source: http://www.kingsleyiwu.com.ng/2017/12/small-doctor-breaks-silence-on-why-he.html

Four persons have been put before court for allegedly robbing a police commander Two of them are police officers who are already standing trial for robbery attack on a GCB Bank bullion van at Donkorkrom last year, YEN reports. Two policemen standing trial in Accra over the Donkorkrom bullion van robbery have been put before court, alongside two accomplices, over their involvement in another robbery incident. The two, Corporal Kissi Abrokwa and Corporal Elvis Mensah, are alleged to have masterminded a robbery attack on a police commander using the accomplices, Yakubu Salifu alias Adwenkese, and Labaram Ganiu alias Alex. According to the prosecuting officer, Assistant State Attorney, Cyril Boateng Keteku the complainant is a District Police Commander while Yakubu, a farm labourer and Labaram, a trader live at Donkokrom Zongo. On May 31, 2016, the commander who was on leave visited Donkokrom, however, he woke up around 4am to detect that thieves had broken into his room. They absconded with his bag containing a pistol, two magazines with 30 rounds of 9mm ammunitions each and a cash of Ghc1, 150.00. The complaint later reported the incident at the Police station. Investigations identified Yakubu Salifu as the culprit but several efforts made to arrest him failed. He was finally arrested later by a civilian at his hideout and handed over to the Police. During Police interrogation, the first accused, Yakubu, mentioned the name of the second accused person, Labaram Ganiu, as his accomplice. He subsequently led Police to a bush near St. Michael Catholic Primary and JHS School at Donkokrom to retrieve the stolen pistol and only 15 round ammunitions were found. Yakubu also implicated Corporals Mensah Kissi as the people who masterminded the theft by providing Labaram Ganiu detailed information about the Police Commander’s house and the nature of the operation. He said on June 7, 2016, Mensah met Labaram, at Ekye Amanfrom where he advised him to flee from the community because the first accused, Yakubu has been arrested by the Police and his name has been mentioned as his accomplice. The accused persons have been charged for conspiracy to steal, unlawful entry and stealing, however, Yakubu Salifu and Labaram Ganiu, who were present in court, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The two accused pleaded to the court to grant them bail over ill health but the Koforidua Circuit Court 'B' rejected their plea and remanded into prison custody. source: http://www.kingsleyiwu.com.ng/2017/12/two-police-officers-apprehended-for.html

Ex-Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi has said that people blankly believe and accused him of being stingy because he does not misuse public fund. Peter Obi who was not bothered by the ignorant thought of the people said that people say so because he made sure he used the public funds for what they are supposed to be done with, especially, in investing in the education of people. The ex-Governor said this when he featured as a guest on Channels Television's political satire, "The Other News' He explained that people think so because he had always aimed at utilising public fund accurately. “It all depends on what you are stingy about,” he said during the first episode of the second season of the programme which aired on Thursday. “It is not the issue of perception, it is the issue of ‘you are managing public money’. “When you are talking about public money, public money must be used for public good. “it’s not Peter Obi’s personal money, it is money meant to rebuild the schools, it is money meant to construct roads, it is money meant to provide health facilities, and it is money meant to support small business.” “Even Peter Obi’s money; I use it for good purpose and that’s why today, I visit schools. It is not for individuals, I put it in education. “Every month, I visit at least three to four schools all over Nigeria supporting them to rebuild their infrastructure, to ensure that there are chairs for kids who go to school. That’s what money is meant for.” Kindly Click HERE or HOME to see other latest Posts Be the first to get News updates via WHATSAPP, Add us +2349037601079 and say Hi. General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, was ambushed during an early morning prayer timeout on Wednesday. The cleric made the revelation on Wednesday, at the 3rd day of the congress, taking place at the Redemption Camp of the Church, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. He said he was trying to find a quiet place in the Camp around 4am to pray when some people ambushed him for prayers of blessing. As a pastor is followed by millions of people, there are always pressing demand to meet him for prayers which has always interrupted his privacy. “If you see a man of over 75 years old walking alone at night, you must know that he is doing that on a purpose, but the people won’t let me,” he recounted. “I tried to veer along a path into the bush, and was relieved to be alone to pray, but they traced me there.” He further said he was able to have his private prayers, and that God assured him on the Wednesday programme that every yoke of bondage shall be broken. However, the pastor didn't narrate how he finally had his prayers. source: http://www.kingsleyiwu.com.ng/2017/12/pastor-enoch-adeboye-ambushed-at-3rd.html

The preacher in the sermon blasted the Igbo people for being arrogant and proud, explaining that even if he preaches till tomorrow, the Igbo man will never shed tears because his heart is hard. Revd Uma said that during the war, the Biafran leader never seek God for victory and never made any prayers during the war, describing Biafrans as Judah in the bible. Strange things begin to unfold day after day as many people continually say, "We are in the Endtime'. A Mortuary man in Ghana who made some shocking revelation to mynewsgh without his identity revealed, said high-profile people in the society always meet him to buy human parts. He explained that the people that approach him makes high monetary offers in exchange for the body part but he had always turn them down. The mortuary man said he knows the people approaching him for human parts are people looking to increase their wealth, business or fame by carrying out rituals. He said even pastors approach him for the body parts. “A lot of them come but I don’t give them. The ritualists and people you least expect all come around but I am afraid they will land me into trouble so I don’t give in to their demands. Even some time pastors do come but I stand my grounds and refuse, irrespective of the amount they offer,” he said. He further pleaded with the people to be humble and live a good life, explaining that life is short. "I have seen a lot of dead bodies in this world and what I can advise is that human beings should be submissive. The arrogant ones should bear in mind that life is not all about that. I honestly pity such persons”, he said. Kindly Click HERE or HOME to see other latest Posts Be the first to get News updates via WHATSAPP, Add us +2349037601079 and say Hi. An identified driver of a commercial bus has been killed by some suspected robbers in the Mile 2 area of Lagos. KINGSLEYIWU gathered that the armed robbers hijacked the bus and robbed the passengers, but the driver disagreed to release the bus to the robbers. Following his disobedient to the robber, he was shot dead and pushed out of the bus. The robbers fled while leaving behind the bus when Rapid Response Squad moved after them on motorcycles. A 20-year-old victim, Liberty Whitney, International Relations graduate of Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, who was also robbed inside the bus, told the police that the robbers were three in number. She said he boarded the bus at Oshodi heading to Mile 2. She said, “It was around 9.30pm that I boarded the bus. I was the only passenger in the vehicle as of then. More people later joined and the bus had two vacant seats left. “The bus left the park and was about to pick more passengers at Cele bus stop when two men in white native attires pointed guns at us. They asked that we remained calm and do as we were told. They then joined the bus. “While other passengers were screaming and jumping down from the bus, I was held by a man that had joined the bus earlier when I tried to jump down as well. Like other passengers, I never knew the man was a member of the gang. “When I made another attempt to jump down, one of the robbers pointed a gun in my face with a threat to shoot if I didn’t comply. One of them asked me for my phone, bag and money and when I was reluctant, he hit me in the neck with the butt of the gun. I couldn’t breathe well for some time. I handed over all I had with me instantly: travelling bag, polythene bag, laptop, phone, chargers and school certificates. “I was allowed to jump down from the vehicle afterwards. A few minutes later, I heard a gunshot. A man was thrown off the bus. He had hanged on the back of the bus when he was shot by the side.” She said he recovered her valuables except her phone when the RRS team chased the robbers. It was later discovered by the RSS that the man who was made lifeless was the driver of the bus. The driver was quickly rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, but couldn't defeat death. “He was fighting for his bus, which was his only source of livelihood, when he was shot. The driver passed away on Thursday, November 23. He died of the gunshot injury he sustained,” the police said. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, who attested to the incident, said investigations were ongoing. “The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for further investigations,” he added. General overseer of House of Bethel Ministry, Reverend Kwanme Takyi was apprehended on Saturday for making "too much noise" in Ghana. The apprehension was commanded by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah who was said to have angrily confronted the pastor when the night service was still on. The regional minister commanded the police at KNUST to not only carry out the arrest but to make sure the service doesn't go on that particular night. The minister had before the arrest showed up around 12:30 am to warn the members, then later stormed the night service with the Police at about 2am and commanded the apprehension of the senior pastor. However, the angry pastors described the arrest by the minister as "Rambo Style". The minister's action follows existing noise pollution laws which, unfortunately, are not duly enforced. In 2014 fifty people were convicted by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) district court in 2013 for causing noise pollution in the capital. Kingsleyiwu.com.ng John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, is a famous actor who attracts the love of many Nigerians. His comical roles give many reasons to smile. He speaks with TOFARATI IGE See below; What are some of the most memorable experiences you can recall from your childhood? Things were hard for me as a child. My parents were not rich, and we lived from hand to mouth. I remember that we used to eat only once a day, but we did not let it affect our educational pursuits. All these are still fresh in my memory. But today, the story is different. While going through hard times, what were your dreams and hopes for the future? I was actually determined to develop myself generally and hone the skills I had. I eventually studied Mass Communication. Even though I’m not practising that actively, I believe I’m still communicating with my job as an actor. Before then, I tried my hands on different jobs. I was once a butcher, hairdresser and many other things. What schools did you attend? For my elementary education, I attended Community Central School, Ezeogu-Amure in Enugu. For my post-elementary education, I went to Sapele Technical College, Sapele, in Delta State. Then I proceeded to the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, where I studied Mass Communication. However, I am still not satisfied with my educational attainment because one can never know it all; you have to keep learning. If former President Olusegun Obasanjo could go to the National Open University after his tenure, then, that should tell you that education is a never-ending process. I still have plans to return to school. What stirred your interest in acting? I was interested in watching soap operas and that was what inspired me. In 1978, I played cameo roles in a TV series, even though my face was not shown; but it was a big achievement for me then. Immediately after that, I decided to devote more time to acting. I started acting officially on December 3, 1978, in Benin. What were some of the initial challenges you faced? I wasn’t interested in money; I just wanted to act. I wanted to build my face into the minds of people; so, I usually accepted any role that came my way. As soon as you become recognised, then you have begun to make your mark as an actor. What was the title of the first movie you appeared in? The first movie I acted in was titled Rolling Stone and it was shot in Onitsha, Anambra State. It was produced by Solomon Eze of blessed memory, and directed by the late Kenneth Egbunor. What movie do you regard as your breakthrough? Every movie I have acted in contributed to my breakthrough. But some notable movies are Agony, which I produced and played the role of an slowpoke in, Mr. Ibu, Vuga and Uncle Wayward. I am happy with where I am now. Can you mention some of the movies you have produced? I have produced a lot of movies including Naomi, Inheritance, Fingers, Assignment, among many others. What are some of the challenges that producers have to grapple with? I would advise any producer never to go on set without having cash at hand. Never take actors and other crew members to a location without having the money to take care of them. That production could hang, and if that happens, that is the end of the job. You often act comical roles, why don’t you take on serious characters? That is the result of stereotyping in the industry. As for me, I am ready to do anything. But when one producer casts me in a comical role, and the movie sells more than expectation, then others would also come and request for me to play that same kind of role. But why can’t you produce a movie where you will play a ‘serious’ role? That cannot work. If you’re producing a movie, you are not supposed to play any serious role, as that would affect the pace and quality of production. In some of the movies I produced, I didn’t play any role in them, and in some, I appeared in a maximum of three scenes. Mr. Ibu is one of your biggest movies that actually gave you your nickname. Did you have any inkling that the movie would become that big? Firstly, Ibu has been my name from childhood. Andy Chukwu wrote the movie and only added ‘Mr’ to my name. For any script I accept, I give it a natural interpretation and put in my own unique attitude to embellish it. Before accepting any movie, I must be convinced in my mind that it would be a blockbuster, and I always put in my best. What are some of the misconceptions people have about you? Sometimes, when we’re having script readings and I make suggestions due to lapses I observe, people often think I’m just joking, or that I’m trying to ridicule their scripts. What determines the type of script you accept? Majorly, it’s the plot and the language used. I have to be satisfied that they really interpret the story well. I also consider the character I’m playing and I ask questions if I don’t understand anything because if you don’t understand the role you’re supposed to play, then there’s no need being part of that project. I must believe in a script before I can accept it. Do people really take you seriously off screen? The people that are close to me and those who work with me know when I’m serious. I’m also a disciplinarian. It’s only my fans that may not know when I’m angry. Whenever I get angry, I like to register it lightly with the people concerned, and within a short time, I let it go. What are the things that get you angry? I hate people who are fake, and I don’t let them come close to me. I don’t like pretence and I cannot work with pretenders. If you are natural and original in whatever you do, then I’m with you. What are some of the funny experiences you have had with fans? It is funny but serious. As an actor, I know that my fans love me so much. I have often walked into crowds of people hailing me while some people were busy giving me knocks on my head. In such instances, I have to run away from them. Where are some of the memorable places that your acting career has taken you to? I’ve been to a lot of continents like Australia, America, Europe, and other parts of Africa. I’m always travelling, and I have met fans in a lot of places across the world, even in places where I least expected. What do you enjoy most about being an actor? Fame is so sweet; it’s like power. You will always meet people who love you and those who hate you. However, a higher percentage of people love me. What’s the most memorable thing a fan has done to you? That happened in Italy. A female fan ran to me on stage, held me and started crying. In Abuja, a policeman told me that after meeting me, he could then die in peace. According to the officer, he had always prayed that God should make him to meet me. I told him I appreciated his love, and that he would not die; at least, not now. I am always meek and when I hear such things, I know that they are coming from my real fans. What has fame cost you? Fame has not cost me anything. Rather, it has done a lot for me. I appreciate everything about acting. What’s the major challenge besetting Nollywood? Piracy and the nonchalant attitude of the Federal Government. In other nations, governments focus on the entertainment industry and dedicate a ministry to it. Some actors have ways through which they groom up-and-coming actors. Do you do anything like that? I don’t have an academy but I have trained so many. What do you think are the most important qualities one needs to be a successful actor? Discipline is the key. If you are educated and disciplined, you will go places. It makes you learn and have a calm mind. How do you relate with your female fans? We have a cordial relationship. For those that want something extra, the something extra would come. My wife was an artiste and she understands the entertainment industry. What are the most important lessons you’ve learnt in life? I have been exposed to the elite, professionals in all aspects of life. I keep learning. If you weren’t an actor, what other profession would you have chosen? You’re looking for trouble now. Anyway, I would have been a boxer. I used to be a boxer. I was doing well until I went for a championship in Delta State. The boy I fought with was an idiot; he gave me a beating I would never forget. That boy changed my face and made me hate anything that had to do with gloves. After the fight, I looked in the mirror and I could not even recognise myself. I could see with only one eye for sometime due to the punches he dealt me. That was the incident that made me quit boxing. What was your wife’s initial reaction when you wooed her? Before I met my wife, she already knew about me, though I don’t know how. However, she took me seriously from the outset. She has been a God-sent to me. What were the qualities that attracted you to her? I was one of the judges when she contested at a beauty pageant, BGN. She also won the Face of Imo State competition in 2004. She is really a beautiful woman but unfortunately, I’m not handsome, though I don’t mind. How do you unwind? I love music and football. I used to be a football coach. I coached the national team of the Actors Guild of Nigeria for four years. I also love gospel music. Flavour is one of my favourite artistes. I do a bit of music comedy too; I have two albums in the market as we speak and I am ready to do more. I only drink water; I don’t even take soft drinks. I get high by being with my people. How do you like to dress? I like to wear designer outfits and I shop anywhere in the world. I pay a lot of attention to my appearance. Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade has disclosed that she was disrespected by Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie when she approached him for a collaboration sometime in the past. She said Sarkodie snubbed her management team's approach many times without giving reasons. The female Nigerian singer was on the Starr Chat show on Wednesday and expressed her vexation on how Sarkodie treated her. She said she was once a big fan of Ghanaian rapper, but has stopped being his fan ever since that event played out which she tagged "unprofessional" attitude. “I’ve really tried my best to really not go into details but the long and short on why I don’t want to dwell on this is that is super unfair, unprofessional and unkind for international acts or even artistes to have a dealing with anybody and after agreeing to certain things, you don’t come through at all,” she lamented. “I can count three different countries and three different venues where my team and I had an agreement with the artiste (Sarkodie) in particular and he didn’t come through. “I don’t want to bring in the feminine and masculine inequality we’re experiencing in the industry and I don’t want to link it to that. I was pained as a person but I’ll say it is almost impossible to promote a project that is supposed to be for two people when the other party isn’t coming through at all, the music pretty much suffers.” She added that she felt disgraced by Sarkodie's attitude, especially after she tried to reach him on three different shows where he performed Notwithstanding, She further explained that she is not looking for an apology from the Ghanaian rapper and BET winner, that she is “cool and not bothered at all”. source: http://www.kingsleyiwu.com.ng/2017/11/nigerian-singer-yemi-alade-reveals-how.html
