Yes. But I don't think they have gotten full information from IRCC yet on how to proceed. My guess is, since all PAL expires on Jan 21st, anyone who applies after would be needing it. IRCC needs to be clear on this. chrisifeanyi: Please do we need PAL for study permit application for Masters in 2025? Most schools are not talking about it |

I'll advise you to reduce your luggage to 23kg and use cargo to ship the rest. It's more affordable than paying extra for an upgrade. joefit4gur: Hello. Please does anyone know if I can upgrade two 23kg baggage to 32kg or it's just one I can upgrade on Lufthansa. Also an idea of the cost.
Thank you. |

I have a question to ask. My course program is for a year, but I got two years study visa and work permit. This has prompted me to consider doing another course program immediately after I complete this program in order to get 3 years PGWP. Can I do this second program in my school without reapplying for a study visa? |

Congrats. Vankayyyyy: It’s PPR everyone🥹… it’s been God all the way, this journey was not an easy one but am forever grateful and another special thanks to Bobomaigida for his unlimited assistance and support. I sent several webforms and emails to all the Ircc email addresses I can get online after I submitted the request letter but no positive response. Even sent to MP as well no response. Two days ago, I stumbled upon some set of new Ircc email addresses I saw here and I decided to send another mail to all of them. Fortunately for me , PPR dropped last night around 8:25pm. Have attached the email address for anyone that’s still waiting for response from Ircc, God will come through🙏

Try evaluating your results with WES first to see if you can be evaluated to 3.0. Then you can apply to some schools. Sorry for the denial. Firstly, this is a generic rejection template everyone gets. Only when you order your GCMS notes you can ascertain the specific reasons why you were denied. Secondly, I'll advise you to defer your admission to the next academy session because you won't be able to resume in January if you order for your GCMS notes today and reapply after you get the notes. Good luck. Dreamerville: Hello please, I need help, my study permit was refused, and the image below explains why it was rejected, can anyone help me with how to have a stronger application, my semester starts January 27th. Thanks, any answer is appreciated.
Ps. I had 30mil on my account which was transferred few months closer to my application, I also gave them my sponsor SOA, he's a relative of my mom. |

Maybe you should consult with more licensed agencies. Or search for schools you're interested in and write to their admission office asking if you can be admitted to your preferred study program. If you don't see your preference, then maybe you should try other countries because you can only get a Spousal open work permit in Canada if your master's study program is at least 16 months long. Zyzman: My brother Im tired too. I contacted an agency and I had settled for health sciences then they said it thesis based and they do not advise I apply for that then they gave me option for project management, Masters in health management and they are not something I like.
I really am tired |

Hello sir/ma, you have asked this question for the past few days and no one has replied to you. It's not all questions people answer on this platform. Once most people get their visas or a rejection, they forget about this thread. Most of the advice you'll receive here regards to your visa application based on our experiences. You might be lucky to receive an advice from someone who has applied to your institution. As long as you're not using an agent, then you'll have to do most of your research yourself. Also, you don't have to depend on Nairaland alone for your questions, you can check canadavisa.com. YouTube is also a very rich resource platform. Join OJC Telegram group. There's no question you have regarding Canadian immigration, that an Indian hasn't answered on the Internet. You'll also have to join Indian forums. Good luck. Zyzman: Please everyone who has heard about international business university here? |

I had a lump sum of $14k in my account, but I explained and attached receipts of how I got the money. As long as you explain how you got the money with evidence from the property sales, then a lump sum shouldn't be a problem. Also since your dad owns a couple of buildings, why don't you ask him to give you one as a gift of deed. Get a lawyer to draw up a signed document for it. So this property would serve as your home ties and a monthly income generation for POF. Edrick: One more thing sir, in the future, would selling my father’s land and adding the proceeds from this sales to my POF be considered? Or would it still be termed a lump sum. I’m considering this option for my reapplication. There’s a couple of buildings also. Then there’s one of my mum’s car I wanted to use the first time, but since I wasn’t using her account, I didn’t consider these things at all |

I think you should wait for your GCMS notes to properly understand the reasons why you were denied. But from your explanation, it seems like you didn't document how your dad amassed his funds by submitting receipts, payslips and invoices. Then also for your home ties, I think you should state in your SOP that as a manager in your dad's company, you're already being groomed to replace your dad as the next CEO in his company and you're going to Canada to get the needed academic qualifications to give you the right knowledge to act effectively in this capacity when you return back to Nigeria to take over from your Dad. Do away with any work experience that doesn't tie you directly to your dad's company. Islabelle: Thank you for your response. 1. Yes, I'm unmarried. So I was only able to include my family as proof of home ties.
2. My sponsor happens to be my father
3. I only submitted his CAC documents (although it was registered late last year), his shares with one company he used to work with, i submitted property documents, survey plans also
4. Right now, I do a few freelance writing and design projects for individuals so I couldn’t really use this as a proper work experience since my work isn’t registered yet. But I however submitted previous work experience between 2020-2023 which was much related to my profession. Although I added that I was a manager in my dad’s company as his company was related to my field of study. |

They want you to show source of funds by your dad. So, you need to request for invoices, payslips, property sales receipts and every documents that your dad has in acquiring such amounts. I Marcgrace: "Bank statement provided from PA's father is poorly documented and there is no evidence provided showing how PA's sponsor came to accumulate such savings, While I note business certificate registration on file, however, financial information provided is not supported with evidence of income tax paid, pay slips nor business ownership, for the bank statement balances on file. in the absence of satisfactory documentation showing the source of these funds, I am not satisfied the applicant has sufficient funds for the intended international study." For the reasons above, I have refused this application under R216(1)(b) and R220(a) and (b)."
This is what my GCMS Note states as the reason for the refusal of my Canada student application. Please help me understand how to tackle this situation; I would greatly appreciate any advice you can provide. Thank you! |

You can only fund a GIC account from your own account. I used my Dom account to do it. The bank I used was UBA. I was told to apply through the Form A portal first. No one can fund your GIC account for you. The sender(bank) and receiver (GIC) account name must match. If someone should pay for a GIC for you, CIBC would flag it and refund the money back to the person. If you have a foreign account, you can use it to send the money but if you don't have, then you will have to use a Dom account. Mrtoke: Congratulations, how did you fund your GIC account? Transfer from a domiciliary account or you have someone in Canada pay for you? Please advise, thanks |

Are you going to college or a university? OllyM: 🚨🚨
Good day house. I'm trying to apply for my visa by December and I have some questions.
My school course registration will not be open till March, so I wouldn't be able to pay my fee till then. Hope it doesn't have any implication, if the money just sits in my account. (I don't want them thinking I don't have access to it).
Also, will CIBC GIC still serve as a plus, even if I don't have any receipt of fee paid apart from acceptance deposit.
PS: my Dad is my sponsor
Please I would be grateful to get a reply🙏🏽 |

Is there a reason why the person wants to go for an undergraduate diploma and not PGD? I don't think age is a problem if the person can put out a very good application and has every of requirements. frank2zee: Hello guys..
Please how viable is it for a 32yr old person to obtain a visa grant for an undergraduate diploma course(not a pg diploma)..im asking based on the age.

Beside the VFS office building, there's a DHL office. Go straight there and tell them you want to submit your passport. The DHL guys would give you a consent form to fill. Go along with the passport data page photocopy that was returned back to you when you did your biometrics by VFS. Also go along with your PPR request printout and another photocopy of your passport data page. Transit fee and DHL commission fee cost 20,500. If you want DHL to send the passport to your house after stamping, you'll be paying a return fee of 30,000. That's 50,500. But if you don't want DHL to dispatch your passport to your house, then you pay only 20,500. DHL would give you a tracking information document and would return the second photocopy of your passport data page to you. When you come for pickup, come along with the tracking information document and the photocopy of your passport data page. On this passport data page, write your tracking number on it. When I did mine, I submitted on a Monday and VFS sent me a pickup mail on Thursday. Make sure you get to VFS office before 1PM to submit, because DHL sends out all the passports to Abuja by 3PM. Also when you come for your pickup, come before 4PM. Good luck. Greyworld: Hi, can some one walk me through how to submit passport via courier. Thnks |

I'll advise you to focus only on IT in your SOP leave out Business analyst future career intention. Don't give the VO a room to misconstrue your intent. Talk only about IT and what you intend to use the technical skill you'll acquire to achieve in Nigeria. Also if your sponsor can be willing to pay for a GIC registration for you, I'll also advise you to go that route, because it shows better commitment too from the sponsor. Gloriousangel: Hello,
Thank you for the detailed response. I sincerely appreciate. Considering all that has been said here, I would ask him to pay the deposit from his account while we work on paying at least the first semester tuition. My program is for One year so I’m not expected to show POF for a second year.
Like you rightly pointed out, IT can be applied to literally all aspect of life and business. While my genuine intention is to pivot into a Business analyst role, I can also word it as I would be coming back to bridge the gap in migrating/onboarding school operations where I currently work from non internet based learning environments to an internet integrated environment along with utilizing my IT skills and knowledge I will gain from the program to bridge the gap between students, teachers and school administrators .
I will be in your DMs. Thank you so much. |

Apologies if you find my message offensive but that is the truth. The beauty about japa is that when it all clicks, the reward outweighs the risk. There are risk you need to take first to get the reward and a deposit is part of it. I wish you all the best on your Canadian journey. Gloriousangel: This is kinda harsh. If you're not willing to pay 1,500 CAD non refundable as deposit, then you're not ready to apply for a visa. I once lost 4k USD non refundable after a visa rejection and I didn't die. People have lost more. When you have made up your mind to lose 1,500 CAD, then you can come here for advice on your study visa application. Gloriousangel: Hello Everyone,
I recently got admitted into a post graduate diploma program in IT with a concentration in Business Analysis at NBCC. I hold the Nigeria certificate in Education (Economics/ geography) which was obtained in 2015. Since then, I have been working as a teacher teaching Business studies and ICT in a private school. I want to pivot into IT as I believe that’s the future. My sponsor will be my brother but I’m unsure how to properly package my application. I have no travel experience, I’m 29 and this will be my first time applying for a visa to any country.
Additional my school require a non refundable deposit of $1500 cad which I’m not sure of paying due to Visa uncertainty.
Please advise me. |
