hello,i read all posts from 1-39, i am grateful for all the contributions.please correct me if I am wrong. from earlier conversations I have deduced that it is better to apply for a mortgage after two years residency. i would clock two years in uk by feb2025.if I am going to purchase a house of 450k .. it is better I do lifetime isa 4k each year to gain 2k from uk govenment by may2025 i have a few questions 1) I tried to look for where to find homes with first home schemes in london,I found that they are almost non existent,,is it that way in London (or everywhere) or I am just not searching the right way 2)with regarding the deposit,i have read it goes through aml, would It be questioned if it is gradually built up in normal isa account or a regular uk current account here or sale of an item such as a car or jewellery 3)is 5% ltv on 40 year repayment mortgage sensible or financial suicide ( I don't intend on paying minimum payments,i intend on making 10% overpayments when I can.....I am asking because of unforeseen circumstances for example a loss of job 4)for London,is shared ownership generally looked at favourably or negatively thank you |

hello I need some insights of what to do my student visa expires in one month time my passport expires in two weeks time and I need to apply for post graduate visa I already made application for renewal of passport but my appointment date is in July any advise on how to proceed? thank you |
Hello Followed the thread from start to end I have also skimmed through the documents and publicly available information I do have a few questions ,i’lld be grateful to have answered. My background is BSC computer science(Nigeria ) ,MSC Finance(Uk),my master’s thesis was based on blockchain but it isn’t published or reworked. Work experience-some but not significant (e.g internships, lesser known companies) Age 24 1) I saw that some stem degrees have some advantages based on the National Science and Technology Council’s Critical and Emerging Technologies List Update 2022 My masters degree and thiesis …are based on and covers Financial Technologies • Distributed ledger technologies • Digital assets • Digital payment technologies • Digital identity infrastructure Based on this can I apply on basis of this right away…or I have to work on reworking my thiesis and co authoring some relevant papers in the coming months If I can apply right away.would reworking and publishing my thesis make a stronger case 2)I checked the visa bulletin for February..it says filing date is something like 15/feb/2023 Does this mean that it’s not worth it to do premium processing for consular processing since backlog is already a year behind and I-140 takes 10-11months to come out with regular processing Also is there a scope to the visa bulletin something I saw something about applying before fiscial year ends or once it begins . 3) lastly with regards to lawyer Does applying with a lawyer have significant difference compared to doing self research and applying for one’s self. Basically is the lawyer fee worth it or it’s something that can be easily done with self research Thank you very much in advance |
Yeah I checked there, Is there still Hope for it or I should start claim process with royal mail |

administrative review is 80 pounds and I don't think you would be paying for another visa fee or priority fee or any other fees Refunds You’ll get a full immigration health surcharge (IHS) refund if: you paid twice your visa application is refused you withdraw your visa application I think it's automatic..maybe someone more experienced can answer do you have any idea what caused the refusal by insufficient funds btw |
Sookiee:did she calculate her proof of funds well and did she leave the proof of funds in the account? I think nothing except administrative review or reapply in the next intake and request for his refund |
Sookiee:no I wasn't told to wait..I was just told a decision was made |
BIO DEC 30(priority Ikeja) submission JAN 5 additional document request (TB test) JAN9 NSF JAN 10 submission of documents jan 12 paid call jan 18 decision made fingers crossed p.s if you haven't stayed in Nigeria for 6months and you are coming from a country where tb test is not required..just do the tb test and submit ..as they asked for it in my case and it delayed my application |
Sookiee:in the same position..ticket to meet up with 30th is over 1m now |
dduchess90:in the same situation..how do I chase for escalation....the mail I got from paid mail is Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre. With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision. We do not have access to applications to check the TB status of your application. If you submitted the certificate with your documents it should be in the document pack. You should get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks once you either attend your appointment at the visa application centre or use the ID Check app. You should bear this in mind when making travel arrangements. UKVI are working hard to process applications as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience. You will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre (VAC) when your passport is ready for collection. Do not attend the VAC until you have been invited to do so. You are not required to book any travel before you apply or before a decision is made on your application. You’ll only be refunded if we have not started processing your application. We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents. Regards, -------- school says absolute date of resumption is 30th any advice |
youngmusty:I think congratulations are in order Cheers |

I didn't notice..but that's gone I don't think I was asked for address and dates..I was only asked for one address and I put my Nigerian one there I did assisted services by TLS and I told her to include the details and the TB exemption I don't have copies of my passport showing the dates of my Uae residency..but all the stamps and residency are on the passport I already submitted and I indicated it in my previous mail....I would send a follow up mail right now adding my ticket into Nigeria and tenancy for UAE thank you you have been very helpful... this was the mail I sent before Regarding Visa Application: ******* For: ******** on your website . it says I am exempt from needing a TB certificate as I have lived for at least 6 months in a country(in my case UNITED ARAB EMIRATES) where TB screening is not required by the UK, and I haven't been away from that country for no more than 6 months. my resident visa page is on my passport as well as entry and exit stamps on my passport to prove I satisfy this condition ...in addition ,I attached my resident visa file for UAE. Please let me know if this doesn't apply or if I don't satisfy the condition so I can make provision for the TB certificate in the duration of the stipulated time.Thank You |
dduchess90:in the visa application..there was no space to provide Uae address but I declared it in my visa application that I have been in Uae in my passport ..there is still my resident visa at the last page of my passport..as well as entry and exits stamps I have been in Nigeria since October 12,2022....I sent a mail saying stating the above..also I did assisted services and I told the woman to include it there that that's why I didn't do tb.....about to book for tb test just incase or what do you advise? |
