Did Buhari And APC Lie To Nigeria About His 'Attack'?

Last week after the 2nd Bomb went off in Kaduna, the news across the country was that Maj Gen Buhari was targeted in the bomb attack. A short video from eyewitness showing Buhari coming out of his car and the pictures distributed by APC leadership have no relationship to the incident.

? Buhari claimed that the incident was a bomb blast - not gun shots, but APC displayed a with bullet-riddled SUV.

? The SUV that Buhari came out of from after the claimed bomb attack, has no deflated Tyre or damaged front rare, against the photo APC distributed to the Media.

? All cars and vehicle involved in Bomb incidents in Nigeria where all burnt beyond use and recognition, why was Buhari's car unscratched? Did Boko Haram use a new or special bomb in that 'attack'?

? Buhari also said that he saw bodies scattered all over the street, the video showed no corpse when he alight from the car.

? The Video release showed an entirely different SUV parked blocks away from the blast? see images.

? Nigerians are demanding an immediate response from Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari on the above monumental discrepancies from his account of the attack, APC leadership version and the witness video.

Scientists are filled with a new excitement about a drug that could flush out HIV from the blood system, thereby providing hope of a cure for millions of carriers of the virus across the world.

At the ongoing 20th international conference on AIDS 2014 in Melbourne, Australia, experts reported that early results of the research tried on six people living with HIV are very “exciting” and are “a promising start”.

Those living with HIV are currently placed on anti-retroviral drugs which can drive the virus to insignificant or undetectable levels in the bloodstream.

But while this has led to normal life expectancy in carriers and has even seen HIV-positive persons have children that are free of the virus, the anti-retroviral drugs are not a cure because the virus can still hide in someone’s DNA and be dormant for decades.

However, the recent research shows that low-dose chemotherapy can awaken the virus and flush it out of the system ─ meaning HIV may now be curable as it will no longer have a hiding place in the body

DON’T BLAME ME FOR YOUR PARTY’S SELF-INFLICTED WOES – PRESIDENT JONATHAN TELLS BUHARI
We have noted with much surprise and regret, the statement issued byGeneral Muhammadu Buharitoday in which he made some wild and totally unsustainable allegations againstPresident Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Although he tries very hard to deny it in the statement titled “Pull Nigeria Back From the Brink”, there can be no doubt that General Buhari has sadly moved away from the patriotic and statesmanlike position he recently adopted on national security, which President Jonathan publicly commended, and has now reverted to unbridled political partisanship.
There can be no other explanation or justification for the completely unwarranted and very uncharitable assault on the conduct and integrity of President Jonathan which the statement he issued today represents.
General Buhari’s main grouse which clearly motivated his ill-considered statement appears to be what he called “the gale of impeachments or the utilisation of desperate tactics to suffocate the opposition and turn Nigeria into a one-party state”.
It is most unfortunate that instead of working to put their house in order and resolve the leadership crises and internal contradictions that have plunged their party into a downward spiral, General Buhari and his opposition allies have resorted to blaming a blameless President for their woes.
The processes for impeaching an elected Governor are clearly stipulated in the National Constitution which Nigeria has operated since 1999. The President of Nigeria is not assigned any role in that process and President Jonathan has certainly not played any role in the recent impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa or in the impeachment drama currently being played out in Nasarawa State.
For the record, President remains fully committed to upholding the letters, principles and spirit of the Nigerian Constitution as he has sworn, and defending the rule of law and integrity of the democratic process with all his might.
General Buhari talks about anarchy. He needs to be reminded that President Jonathan from his humble beginnings as a Deputy Governor in Bayelsa state to date, has never in his acts, or utterances, recommended or promoted violence as a tool of political negotiation.
Contrary to whatever General Buhari and his new friends may imagine, President Jonathan fully respects the rights, powers, authority and independence of elected representatives of the people, including the members of the state assemblies who have concluded or initiated impeachment proceedings against their state governors on grounds which they consider justifiable.
The constitution does not give the President any power to intervene in such proceedings and President Jonathan has never arrogated such powers to himself or sought to exert any nefarious and unconstitutional influence on state assemblies in Adamawa, Nasarawa or anywhere else in other to secure undue political advantage for his party as General Buhari unjustifiably alleges.
President Jonathan remains true to his declaration that no political ambition of his is worth the life of a single Nigerian. The President has definitely not declared war on his own country or deployed federal institutions in the service of partisan interests as General Buhari falsely claims. Neither has he been using the common wealth to subvert the system and punish the opposition, as the former Head of State inexcusably asserts.
Also, President Jonathan has never at any time ordered that any Nigerian should be kidnapped or that anyone should be crated and forcefully transported in violation of decent norms of governance.
We therefore urge General Buhari to tarry a while, ponder over his own antecedents and do a reality check as to whether he has the moral right to be so carelessly sanctimonious.
It may well be time to pull the brakes, as General Buhari says in his statement, but it is he and others who have resorted to idle scapegoating and blaming President Jonathan for their self-inflected political troubles who need to stop their inexcusable partisanship and show greater regard for the truth, democracy, constitutionalism, the rule of law, peace, security and the well-being of the nation.

Mubarak Bala, a Nigerian who renounced Islam and became an atheist is a clear indication of the precarious situation of ex-Muslims in the region. Bala is from the sharia state of Kano where Islamic theocracy rules. Bala’s renunciation of Muslim faith did not go down well with the family members. They thought he was out of his senses and forcefully took him to a mental hospital for treatment. Fortunately, Bala, managed to send some messages asking for help. He drew the attention of his friends to his predicament who responded by mobilizing local and international support.
Bala was eventually released from the hospital. However, he still lives in hiding and continues to fear for his life. Yes, Bala, we can say to some degree is free but other ex-Muslims in Nigeria, and in other parts of Africa are not. Ex-Muslims in the region live in bondage. Leaving Islam is like passing a death sentence on oneself. Ex-Muslims are invisible thanks to sharia law that rules in the minds and shapes the morals people in Muslim communities. Bala was lucky that some freethought and human rights groups got to know about his situation on time and came to his help. Other ex-Muslims are not that fortunate.
They suffer and die in silence without anyone’s knowledge. Should we allow this to continue? No, we should not. Ex-Muslims are tortured and abused with impunity. They are treated as persons without human rights. Ex-Muslims in Africa live anonymous life. They cannot openly identify themselves as ex-Muslims. They live in constant fear of their lives. Ex-Muslims are always worried that friends or family members might get to know that they have abandoned their faith in Islam-that they no longer believe in Allah or in the prophethood of Muhammed.
Ex-Muslims do not enjoy the right to freedom of religion or belief because there is no freedom of religion under sharia. Instead what obtains in sharia states is ‘unfreedom’ of religion or rather freedom to profess one religion, and that is Islam. Muslims are compelled to profess Islamic faith for life and forever. Renouncing Islam is apostasy. And apostasy is a crime punishable by death. Also the whole idea of family and community honour is defined on the basis of Islam. So, renouncing Islam is dishonouring the family and community. And dishonouring the family is a serious offence that could lead to the killing of the person who renounces Islam. Simply, any one who renounces Islam deserves no mercy. The person is treated without compassion.
