That you are gumming a girl and doing everything possible for her is not a guarantee that she will be into you as much as you are into her. If the couples involved in such long distance relationships are able to make a definition of what they actually wanted,its OK but let's be realistic 8 years of dating someone whether long or short whatever is not all that advisable.
