Hello house, what is the difference between Primary and Secondary market?? which will you advise me to go for?? |
Tam David-West, former minister of petroleum, says Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum resources, does not have a portfolio. In an interview with PUNCH, the elder statesman attacked the minister over a petition he wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari. TheCable reported that the letter was leaked to the media before it was dispatched to the president. Kachikwu had accused Maikanti Baru, group managing director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), of insubordination. He also alleged that Baru of awarding contracts to the tune of $25 billion without consulting the corporation board, but the GMD maintained that he acted in order. David-West supported Baru’s position and accused Kachikwu of embarrassing the country. “Actually, Buhari should be the chairman of the NNPC board and not Kachikwu, who is a minister without a portfolio in reality. It would be better if we scrapped the ‘minister of state’ which is superfluous and redundant,” he said. “When you say that a minister of state is the boss of the GMD of NNPC, it is wrong. That cannot be. People are making those claims because of misconception. The minister of state in the first republic was a minister without a portfolio. He cannot be a boss of the GMD of an oil industry, who is the livewire of that sector.” David-West, who disclosed that he had vowed not to comment on NNPC again, said was angry when he read Kachikwu’s petition. “When I first read it (the petition) in the newspaper, I was flabbergasted. It is out of the question completely. I have said I will never comment on NNPC, but it would be irresponsible of me to keep quiet,” he said. “It is dangerous. Despite the fact that I am no longer the oil minister, I know what is happening in the oil industry every day. I am still in touch with the system in Nigeria and even the North Sea Oil, Brent, I get the price every day. “I am interested in the oil industry just like any other Nigerian, for obvious reasons. Oil accounts for 80 percent of the Nigerian budget and 90 per cent of its assets outside. The money we have outside and foreign reserves are mainly from oil. As someone from an oil-producing state, I am interested in what goes on in the industry. Thirdly, I have been there before and I know what is happening there. “I don’t know the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, or the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru, but what is going on is very embarrassing to Nigeria. This has never happened before. “Each time I read the newspapers about this issue, I am upset. An editor called me and asked me, ‘What is the duty of a minister of state?’ Some of these problems are caused by personality problems. Some of them have both bloated and ballooned egos. No one is indispensable in Nigeria because for every Nigerian holding a position, there are many others who are better qualified. No public servant can threaten the country. Nigeria is bigger than anyone, so whoever is in a top position should thank God and the country for the opportunity to serve. One million Tam David-Wests cannot threaten Nigeria.” |

i wonder.. Are the Igbos not Nigerians?? why are they not represented?? |
this is not good |
For me, I think the producers didn't do enough yesterday. Usually, I looked forward to seeing the program every Sunday, why will Channelstv invite only APC members to discuss the arrival of PMB ?? All I want to see is a panel made up of people with different views and opinions. I just hope is not what am thinking |
Ahmed Makarfi, for now should be the man. No dent in his records so far. No EFCC wahala, etc |
Have you guys noticed of recent that anytime there is a protest in this country, there is always a counter group fighting the protesters?? this is the method of APC. they did it in Lekki Lagos when there was a protest against Toll collection. Let me ask, if there was a counter protest during Occupy (Ojota Protest) in 2012, do you think we would have succeeded in reducing the price of fuel when it was increased to N144? i must say here that under APC led government, the country is falling apart. |

Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, has described the Buhari-led administration as a government of vendetta that has nothing to offer. Fayose said this while reacting to the ruling by the CCT clearing Senate President Bukola Saraki of all 18-count charges of false asset declaration. According to him, the trend of losing cases by the Federal government has only just begun. "If you recall my prediction for 2016, even before Bukola Saraki was charged, I said Bukola Saraki , would be tried and it would end up in nothing. It would be an exercise in futility because this government is known for vendetta. They have nothing to offer. If you see the trend, they lose all the cases. At the end of the day, they would come back and blame the judiciary because what you start with vendetta will end up in the midst of nowhere. They go about trying their perceived political foes in the media, with the aim of destroying their names when they do not have any evidence that can sustain court trial and it is for this reason that they have been losing corruption cases. Look at all the noise they made when they started Senator Saraki’s case, it was as if he will be sent to jail the following week. But when it was time for them to prove their allegations, they could not. Even the case of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), that they said stole $2.1 billion arms money and that destructive weapons capable of disrupting the peace of any city in Nigeria were found in his possession, why are they the ones seeking for secret trial while Dasuki that they accused is insisting on open trial? “Up till today, they have not brought any evidence against Dasuki. They have not even been able to commence his trial. Instead, they have continually disobeyed court orders that he should be released from detention.” He said

The Presidency calls the discharge of Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal an 'outrageous travesty of justice'. This is the same Presidency that was quiet when a Kano court freed the killers of evangelist Bridget Agbahime after the Kano state Attorney General withdrew the charges against them. I guess that was not a 'travesty of justice' to them. This is the same Presidency that sees nothing wrong with President Muhammadu Buhari hiring 13 SANs for his defense in the case challenging the authenticity of his WAEC certificate. I do not need even one SAN if someone accuses me of not having my WAEC certificate. All I have to do is present it. If it is lost all I have to do is apply to WASC or Cambridge University for a letter acknowledging that I sat for and passed my WAEC/GCE. This is coming only two days after the National Judicial Council exposed the Buhari Presidency as liars who lied about their appeal in the case of reinstated Justice Adeniyi Ademola and five other judges. That Presidency with such a record of dishonesty has the guts to point fingers at Saraki is the real outrage and travesty! The only thing good about this Presidency is Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
