Yes...i did Pte in Australia and got 72,72,66,66 in all the band's,am not sure in what category except I check. I was told that nobody has ever passed it here except one travels back to Naija.....but Our God is a God of impossibility. I made E2language.com my buddy.....pls don't be discouraged if you are here in Australia. Best wishes.
Nigerians do get superior English proficiency in Aussie. Your own result is not bad.

Hello house, I want to know if anyone has written PTE test in Australia with Success(especially speaking). Awaiting your responses, thanks.
Yea, I got my superior here (20 points). You don’t have to travel to Naija just to take PTE. It’s same test....Good luck bro!

Thanks Zany

I intend taking an assessment with EA. Can lack of experience affect the outcome?
Nope, you don't need work experience for EA assessment.

You will need to write three career episodes based on your engineering experience. This could be from school projects, industrial training, etc.

Read the thread and the guidance booklet on EA website to kick start.

Hello everyone! Just to update the house, I arrived Aussie safely on the 476 subclass.

I've been off for long trying to settle in, so I've missed plenty gist here on NL.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier questions - bellong, iceberg54, Alphadoor, catchdwind4rmkd, incemay, lawland,...et al.

I finally traveled through Singapore without any need for Transit visa, just as lawland told me I wouldn't need one. I flew Ethiopian Airline from Lagos to Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airline from Addis Ababa to Singapore and then JetStar from Singapore to Melbourne. It was a fairly cheap deal compared to all other deals I saw and the journey was very smooth as well.

If you plan to use same route (or any other route with 2 or more journey laps), before you depart Nigeria, just make sure the destination tag on your checked in luggage corresponds to your final destination. Mine was fine, so I didn't have to move my checked in luggage by myself while in transit. I only had to pick them up from the pick up location when I arrived Melbourne.

My experience settling in here has been fine so far. I will now resume my hunt for 20 points from PTE.

Catchdwind4rmkd, I saw your testimony...Congrats bro smiley I need your PTE anointing, going in next week for a shot at Flinders.

Congrats to all those who have received their grants and good luck to everyone of us still in the chase.

Abeg o, has anyone travelled to Australia through Singapore?
Was there any need for transit visa for a layover of about 6 hours at Singapore (departing same day)?

I'm getting confused, I booked on Travelstart and they confirmed to me that I won't need a transit visa but a friend tried to book same itinerary on Wakanow and was told he'll need a transit visa.

Anyone with firsthand info on this, pls help.

Thanks.

Please those that have travelled on visa subclass 476, what are the requirements for first time entry?

Do I need anything else apart from my passport and a print out of the PDF attached to the grant mail?

Special thanks to everyone who has contributed to this chapter in the story of my life. I really appreciate.

in conclusion - I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9 : 11)

God Bless
Congrats bro!

Thanks so much. Please I'm just confused about something. While writing my CER for the project I carried out within my six months of being employed , as parts of the requirements for writing the reports, I stated that I am employed in the company and also stated my post. So, won't EA want to verify this as work experience, and will this not disqualify me from using the standard CDR assessment (without work experience)?
I think verification comes in when you're trying to claim points for work experience where one is asked to submit appointment letters and payslips. I doubt if EA goes ahead to verify one's career episodes written in the CDR. Not too sure though.
Anyone in the house could know better.

Please I need your help here.

1. Can I go on to use the projects I carried out during my undergraduate days for assessment?
2. Do I need a certification or evidence of employment for the internship?
3. Although I have letter of appointment/employment for my current job, will I have to provide it as well for my assessment?
4. Two of the projects are based on design and production. However, they are different designs and projects entirely, they are also from different domains in the discipline, and different approach were used in solving the problems encountered. Can I still go on and use both projects?
Thanks.
1 & 4. Yes, you can. As long as you demonstrate the competencies required for your nominated occupation. Check www.anzscosearch.com for tasks related to your nominated occupation.
2 & 3. Since you're not claiming points for work experience, I think you wouldn't be needing employment letters.

Good luck man!

476 is an engineering graduate visa which is valid for 18 months, so it's not a PR visa like 189.
You need to have an engr degree from a country signatory to the 'Washington Accord'. In addition, you need to have graduated in the last two years, you should be less than 31, and also have at least 6.0 in IELTS.
These are the basic requirements, you can as well read up more on the DIBP website.

2.5 months, could take less if you upload all required documents. I was contacted by a CO for an additional document.

I couldn't find my Msc course on the SOL, however I was able to find my BEng (Materials Engr) on the SOL. Can I go ahead to pick Materials Engr? I do not have any cognate experience in this area apart from my 6 months IT and some project works, though I've learnt that EA can assess one even without experience.

Another worry is my observation from the Anzsco website on this my occupation DIBP SOL list. Or did I misunderstand the Anzsco site?

Thanks everyone!

You hv answered ur 1st question you self, get assesed as materials engineer.

Materials Engineer is on SOL and still has about 40.1% for this current year. I've nit seen this your site before ooo but you can check the popular one anzscosearch.com
Thanks a lot bro

@Martinoonline,

All your answers are in your question.

Yes go ahead to pick materials Engineer, write your CDR based on school project, IT and anything you can lay hands on. It is advisable you lodge the assessment this month and if possible this week.

The Occupation is still on the list and less competitive like other Engineering profession.

You don't need experience, make up for it in English score of 20points.

Goodluck
Thanks a lot bro

Hello e-family....I'm so happy to have just got my 476 grant, thanks to Bellong and you all wonderful people.

I'm still trying to lodge an application for 189 before making any move and I have some issues abeg.

Another worry is my observation from the Anzsco website on this my occupation choice.
From attached image, Anzsco wrote that the occupation is not eligible for 189, and this is the case for almost all engineering occupations that I checked on the Anzsco website eventhough they're currently available on the DIBP SOL list. Or did I misunderstand the Anzsco site?

Please help....
@bellong
@jukeblam
@anyone who has gotten positive EA assessment

Thanks everyone!

You only need to upload relevant documents and not everything on the list. The docs already uploaded are sufficient. Though it looks like naija PCC is missing.......
Thanks a lot bro....do I have to upload two police certificates (UK + Naija)?

Mine took about 2.5 months. Status didn't change until I got the grant. And I wasn't contacted by any CO.
Hi bro, I applied for visa class 476 since December 31st 2016 and I've not yet got a CO. I'm not really bothered as it's just 2 months since my submission and most of you got yours between 2-3 months. But I'm worried that I may not have uploaded all the necessary documents cos there are some I've seen on the documents list that I do not have, like 'Evidence of health insurance' , 'Evidence of relationship', 'Evidence of spouse/de facto partner', 'Form 80-personal particulars for character assessment', 'Form 956-advice by a migration agent', 'Form 956A-appointment or withdrawal of an authorised recipient'. Please are all these documents necessary? Will my application be delayed for not having and uploading them?

PS: I have been able to upload my UK police certificate, my UK engr certificate, birth certificate, vaccination card, passport, ielts certificate, and I've done medicals as well which has been acknowledged on their portal.
Thanks.
