Would any of you be kind enough to define the word "defame"? That was the phrase used to justify a ban imposed on another account for calling out Seun on his consistent tongue lash on the Christian God. That ban validates every word about Seun, it is convenient for you to speak up against Christianity but quick to ban and close a thread for standing up for it. Shame on all of you...... |
I seldom take my issues public, but this is about to tear up my relationship. I have been dating my GF for over 4yrs now, I used the word GF because she is not wearing my ring, and this is because we don't want a long period of engagement before the wedding proper, else I could very well call her my fiance, as both families are fully aware of us. My GF has always cherished the idea of wearing a nose ring, but I talked her out of it, plus her family won't approve. She recently graduated and as a "gift" to herself bore her nose. When I saw it, I was furious, I am well travelled and see nothing to it, but we all know the notion of such in Nigeria. We fought and She begged me, saying that she had always pleased other people all her life, that this is one thing she loves and had always admired, and that I should please tolerate it. she's in her early 20's and I just felt with time she will get tired of it. I recently went to visit one of her family member, who was meeting me for the first time, and the person was not happy about the nose ring, my GF is the darling of the house, and it appeared as though I approved or even encouraged her to wear the nose ring. I don't want to be perceived as a bad influence so I talked to her about it again, and she started crying, throwing tantrums. She said for once in her life, let her please herself, and that she is finding herself. I love this girl with everything in me, we have come a long way, and I know she loves me beyond I even love her, but we just can't agree on this matter. At a point I even begin to feel why I can't make her do away with the ring as a man, at the same time I feel I am being hard on her. She removes it whenever she is coming to see my parents. Please am I over reacting? Do other people perceive nose piercing as a sign of someone irresponsible? I Am just lost..... |
At age 37 see how much he had achieved? I also noticed younger people were in power and influential positions back then. the then Governor of Rivers State, Chief Spiff was in his 20's, my question now is, what seemed to have pushed up the achievement age. One seldom see young people doing well, a man in his 20's is likely still in Uni. What is happening my people? |

icebeatz:lol funny guy. |
icebeatz:Sorry, I didn't notice u weren't the one who posted the pics. @tonyspike |
Badgers14:The guy was just going on and on of how he has been to so many airports, with the way he was arguing I began to have doubts if he has ever been out of a Nigerian airport. in some countries it is not restricted to the airports, but certain buildings and monuments as well. Mr Op pls do well to read up brochures of places you are visiting, it will help you. Not coming here to post pics of PE and be screaming "I have been to many airports" |
icebeatz:Say u haven't heard of Upington, and that's because u haven't been to so many airports has you claim. you posted a pics of PE, can you take a flight from Nigeria to PE? as a matter of fact PE is a very porous airport and very open with about 3 flight schools there, my friend trained at Aptrac. again you are missing the point, I am not saying you cant take pics at tarmacs, am saying different airports have their own regulations. you are advised to check up those regulations so you don't get yourself in trouble. |
icebeatz:How is Upington a private air strip? Not as big Or Tambo, but a major airport. And am not making reference to any private air strip as they are not open to commercial. even at that, I have landed at a private air strip and taken a pics. We are still waiting for those numerous airports you have been to and taken pics at the TARMAC. |
icebeatz:Different airports have their own regulations, and instead of saying you have been to many airports, mention the names of those many airports you have been to and let us confirm from first hand experience. For example Upington Airport, South Africa doesn't allow pictures at the tarmac, even as a crew. |
How about Daniella Okeke? |
CFCfan:My brother, the average Nigerian cant tell the difference, to them a jet is a jet and don't see the need to have 7 or 5. Most of these jets where purchased by previous heads of state, Mr President has opt to trade-in one of the jets at the cost of $3million- and Nigerians are crying fowl, what do you think will be their reactions if we are to go by your recommendation of buying a brand new 3 B787 Dreamliner? Mr President is not the one that says "oh let us trade-in one of the jets", that's not how it is done. It is those who are responsible for the maintenance of these jets that in their expertise and knowledge will put forward the proposal and make the president see why it has to be done. however the image being portrayed is that the President just sits in his office and comes up with ideas on how to spend money on frivolities. |
Demdem:My good friend, we are not fighting. we simply have a different opinion to this issue, which I believe is 100% normal. I am only being objective rather than carrying a placard with an inscription "crucify the President". |
Demdem:I did use my brain and read up, being abusive with your words doesn't prove your knowledge. I have replied as to my earlier response, its just above, read it up. |
akinsadeez:Thank you so much for the calm way u responded, that was very matured of you. I respect it when people argue reasonably. now if I may contribute from my own understanding. First the Nigerian govt. is not buying a new jet, but trading it in for a new one. bringing it down a bit, if you buy a car from a car company and over time you find the car not to be of the standard you require, you can take it back to them and ask for another type, then pay whatever balance of difference it is with the new one, it is more economical than buying a new car. Next question is, why would the president want to replace a jet at this critical time of our economy, same reason why you would want to change the car, it could be faulty and considering the cost of maintaining it, its better to trade it in now than wait for an accident or keep incurring maintenance bill. But is N400 million not too much? That's just a bit short of $3 million, considering one of the least of the presidential jets is a Falcon which cost $50 million, I think it will be cheaper to trade it in than raising another $50 million for a new Falcon. But we already have about 7 jets? Yes, but they serve different purpose, among the fleet is a Boeing 747 then called Victor 1, don't know if its still in service, but you cant use a Boeing 747 to fly the president and maybe 3 aids from Abuja to Port Harcourt, that will be wastage, so you use a Falcon or something smaller instead. Now when the President lands in Port Harcourt and say he wants to go to Bayelsa, then he uses a chopper. But if he wants to go to say America with a 30 man delegates, then he needs the Boeing 747. Also these Jets are available to the Vice President and other top officials. Just my humble contribution. |
