But still the best ever. If we have been playing that way all these while, na semi final we go dey reach for world cup. That 94 team would have gotten to the semi final if they scaled through the Italians in the second round and guess what would have met Bulgaria again in the semis
Yes i know, the team was our best, if this team can match there play which is doable, then we can even win the worldcup

i was watching documentary of german team in 2014 and i saw a lot of similarity in our team.

The freekick was suppose to be an indirect freekick that must touch another player before entering the net and not a direct one hence it was disallowed.

The 94 team is the most athletic team we've ever had with a very high work rate and ethic despite the internal squabbles. Every generation of SE and technical crew need to be doing case studies on this team to infuse such ethic on all our national teams. Even the 98 team didn't have this high work rate.

If 8-5-7

Troost
Balogun
Shehu
Idowu
Awaziem
Ebuehi
Omeruo
Aina

Mikel
Ndidi
Onazi
Ogu
Etebo

Moses
Musa
Iwobi
Simon
Iheanacho
Ighalo
Simy

Might be 8-6-6

Same 8 in defense, add Joel to Midfield, Remove Simy from Forwards.
Exactly my thoughts

The freekick was not a legit goal.

"If after signaling for a free kick the referee keeps his hand above his head then he is signaling for an indirect free kick, or IFK. An IFK is awarded for any foul not falling under the category of penal foul, or a foul which is not committed against opponents. A goal may not be scored from an IFK until it has touched another player. When signaling for an IFK, the referee will keep his hand up until after the ball has been kicked and touched by another player."

Throw back video: Nigeria vs Bulgaria 1994 WC.

24 years later, I still don't understand why that Stoitchkov's free-kick goal was disqualified (at 1mins 35secs). Anybody with any Ideas?
Note that deliberate attempt by Amokachi to deny Yekini Nigeria's first goal in a WC (45secs)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVycJU0QG98
there is really internal issue among the players, even after yekini scored i noticed no one went close to him.

The freekick is legit goal and i must say a good keeper like rufai gives confidence to thr team, he didn't have to do too much but you could see he was well assured

That you saw few white men european men come and marry Nigeria women is not enough to conclude its happening everywhere....I am a man who is very away of my environment. If you give a black man a choice to choose between a beautiful white woman and a beautiful black women na speed he go use rush the white woman...Thirsty niggas!!
Maybe that's your preference, a woman should not be judge by her colour, size or race.

Sir, is really disturbing that you are always passionate about tribal issues and racist comments.

we presume we all are educated to an extent, a woman can be good be her white or black.

No, like seriously WTF IS THIS? How can someone who makes as much money as Iwobi straff this Joan Rivers-looking whitey?

Lokosa “Overjoyed” By Super Eagles Call-Up, In Bulgaria For ‘Medicals’
May 16, 2018 4:27 pm

Nigeria Professional Football League hotshot Junior Lokosa is overwhelmed by his invitation to the Super Eagles for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, chairman of Kani Pillars FC, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, has revealed.

Babangida told Completesportsnigeria.com that Lokosa who arrived in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital city on Tuesday, was overjoyed when the news of his call-up to national team reached him through his agent

“Lokosa is overjoyed at his invitation and he has expressed gratitude to the coach for including him in the 30-man provisional list for the World Cup. He also promised to try his best to convince the coach that he is good for the World Cup,” Babangida stated
.
The Kano Pillars boss further disclosed that Lokosa, who has scored 18 goals in the NPFL this season, will undergo medicals with his unnamed new outfit and return to the country by May 20, adding that the striker is not on trial as being reported in the media.

“He (Lokosa) is not on trial but has only gone to do his medicals and if he succeeds, the club will come down to Kano to sign the necessary papers for his transfer. We’ll miss him if he finally goes; he has been fantastic for Pillars this season,” Babangida told CSN.

On the choice of Bulgaria for Lokosa, the former Kano director of sports said: “We had several offers for him from USM Algiers, Al Hilal of Sudan, a Libyan club, a Tunisian side a team from Serbia but the Bulgarian offer was better and he chose that.”

We need to see Lokosa perform at a higher level first. The league is not a good benchmark, the standard is too poor.

Very true. He is just too sentimental about this Kayode. I can beat my chest and say that Super eagles have in abundance any quality or attributes Kayode is bringing to the team. Is it Speed? Kayode run reach Musa? Is it Techniques? He get am reach half of Ighalo, Moses or KC? Is it trickery? He dey learn where Simon and Ighalo dey. Is it goals? We all know the men who are currently on fire in Chinese league and Epl(Odion and KC). So wat exactly does Kayode bring dat is not already in abundance? But on Simy, we clearly have a man mountain of a goalscorer which we lack in the current Eagles. Someone who can use head to score goals. Dat is one weakness Ighalo has.
Ok quick question ===We can be needing a goal in the final 10-15mins and the team results to crosses into the 18yard box, who do u call Simy or Kayode?
Thanks for the summary

The simple truth is that Kayode goofed big time. Either because of greed, bad advice from his agents or some other factors. You don't leave a club where you are banging in goals week in week out for fools gold in Man City with less than a year to the world cup. If he had remained at Austria Wein and maintained the same form, Rohr would have found it difficult to ignore him. Better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond. This is a valuable lesson for Kayode and others.
I disagree with you all on this, signing for man city from Austra viena and getting a loan to laliga with girona was a very good move for his career, this didn't work out fine but it was a good move.

Nobody become the best in Austria league, he was the highest goal scorer in the Austria league

you all are saying this from a selfish angle of been a Nigeria, will you advise your client or brother to leave a lucrative offer from Man city and a certain loan move to girona for an Austra league

I have followed Simy from his days in the second division of the Portuguese league. He was banging in goals there before he went to the first division of the same league. That period was during our preparation to the Olympics and it was suggested he made the list them but unfortunately, he was overloooked.

Moreover, I followed his progress in his first season in the Seria A last season but he didn't really get enough time and even this season. But if I have to rate his over all ability, forget, he is not better than Kayode.

However, I don't think he is good in the air neither the fast type of player you suppose but hopefully he brings something to the table..

Kayode is far better than Lokosa. I don't think the coach really wanted Kayode from the on set. It's an established fact.
I doubt you have seen lokosa play but sentiments won't allow you to be objective about issues like this
