Rohr can do it this way..

start Simy and Musa up front and Nacho behind then

Second half let the trio of Iwobi, Moses and Ighalo take up the reins.

Reason being that I expect th3 first trio to bury the game and the 2nd trio to set up very hard disturbance against that Argentine defence. If It was Lokosa, I'd pick him instead. But I have no choice again sha.

Well it's just 3subs, so I prefer to see Iwobi and Moses come on provided there is no one at the back that takes a knock whatsoever.

I believe Musa and Simy would do something to calm our nerves.

This is not a training or friendly match. starting simmy, musa and nacho means you are sacrificing Etebo or mikel and it make no sense in this kinda game.

and bringing on 3 new attackers to replace them look like a PlayStation decision, guess you were joking afterall.

My thoughts exactly with regards to Messi.

The high press is essential for us too we don't want Messi getting penalties or free kicks near our 18. We should know that these players are really good at hood winking referees for fake fouls.

Argentina will also high press us, I am very sure. They will be worried about our fast break. This means we will often use the long ball. Who will win our aerial battles and bully the Argentine CB'S for our fast paced forwards to capitalise on.

My formation 3-5-2

Omeruo - Balogun - Ekong

Mikel
Ndidi - - Etebo
Ebuehi - Moses

Ighalo ----- Musa

With a number of substitute options that excludes Echiejile and Shehu

i am one of ighalo strongest advocate here, but it make no sense using after seeing changes when he was on the bench, i will go with the same line up...if I'm to change anything then i will have iwobi coming in for iheanacho

I would vouch for a 4-5-1 against Argentina. playing three at the back would create space out wide for Messi and or Dybala depending on who starts on the wings and these two guys can commit players. a 4-5-1 maintains that defensive rigidity especially since Moses has decided that whenever he okays as a wingback for us that he would be more concerned with attacking than defending

3-5-2 is still the best, it will look more of 5-3-2 when on pressure, which is more defensive than 4-3-3

Is it not about time Victor Moses sits on the bench to figure out what he is at the world cup to do? That short man has continued to stifle Nigeria attack of any life left in it. I am completely depressed whenever he is on the field....If he is not falling with a little touch ,he is dribbling nonsense when he is not dribbling his forefathers out of space he is ballooning the ball. I am tired and frustrated with Victor Moses. And let me hear anybody call him the star player of the team. That AKPUDA contributes lameness to the team.

Whenever he has the ball his first instinct is to dribble and we all can count on our fingers how many times Victor Moses has had a successful dribble that resulted into a goal...VicMo is TRASH and he is not gonna improve. And dinosaur Rohr will not do the needful and bench he ,rather he will add spineless Ighalo and keep Iwobi on the bench.

The problem,of Super Eagles now is the coach, the danm coach!!
He needs to be fired ASAP.

bros what did vic Moses do to you?

vic Moses did very well in that match, make we stop this things na

why will you play Ighalo at all?

If you want a change, then don't start Idowu, start Ebuehi in Idowu's position, maybe drop Kelechi for Iwobi or Etebo for Ogu.

Nothing should ever make anyone reason starting Ighalo for us.

iwobi for nacho is a very good option and we add another dimension to the game

Am I the only one still not sold on Rohr as a good coach?

It took outcry from other coaches and ex-footballers for him to do the right thing.

If he couldn't decipher the right tactics by himself without imput from Mourinho and the likes, then we are in for a long thing my friends

Anyways, best player in the match wouldn't be Musa, in fact he has been pencilled down and if Messi, Ronaldo and other great footballers have been successfully marked out in times past, I believe the Argentine already have a plan for him.

If I were in Rohr's shoes, I wouldn't start Musa and iheanacho, I'd go with simy and ighalo or iwobi and simy. Trust me just like the Icelandic coach, sampaoli wouldn't see it coming.

I have strong feeling that if we stick to the tactics we used against Iceland and same set of players we started the match with, we'll get beaten black and blue and will end our campaign on a sour note.

Just my opinion guys

you will bench musa because they plan to mark him out??

why won't Argentina bench messi because we planning to mark him out too??

bros Argentina don't even have the kinda defenders that can defend musa speed, musa playing as a striker is dealing with the central defenders and not the wingers, most defenders are slow

It was a good move to bring ighalo in. Ighalo is not a bad player it's just that he's not suitable for counter attack because of his pace. Nacho was tired. Simy would have been a good go too with specific instruction to press them into making mistakes at the back.

simmy is not pacy too,do you know how ighalo confidence could bave been boasted if he got a goal after been introduced, this is a tournerment and you need all your players to be in top form

Why will I hate Ighalo? Ighalo is a nice guy with the heart of an angel. A true asset to the Super Eagles. At the time past 80 minutes, we should be conserving our lead. Not taking risk.

Ighalo came on in 85minute and iwobi was introduced in 90+, i don't see how this guys will cause us to loose, they were our first teamer

You should note from now that the same shape but change in personnel affects the playing pattern of a team. Iheanancho contributes more defensively than Ighalo. So pulling Nacho for Ighalo reduces our defensive contributions even though the shape is the same.

Gerrit?

what you are saying is from the angle of hatred for ighalo, that change was not bad, fresher ighalo for a tired nacho was a good move

i was not comparing any body here, the coach felt Etebo was the man to protect and he took him off, musa is not even an injury prone play and his speed was already causing headache for our opponent, so why take him off?

At that time, an offensive change is a wrong call. Securing the lead was the right option and the changes did not show that.

it was not an offensive change, the change retained our shape, like for like.

A point can see us through if Croatia beats Icealand, they draw or Iceland does not win by two or more goals margin.

Here also the number of goals we score in that 1point against Argentina could be vital

yes, we are on 0 goal difference and Iceland is in -2

Attack sells ticket, defense wins games. You can not win without spending enough attention on defensive details. The moves we made yesterday could have led to a catastrophe. We need to plug all leaking holes.

i repeat Rohr tactics was very good, he needed iceland to continue feeling the presence at the back.

Do you know goals could end up been a factor in this group

Perfectly said.

I was expecting Rohr to substitute Musa after the second goal. Anything could have happened, even aside stabilizing that game defensively; he could have been yellow carded or injured. It wasn't the best gamble by Rohr.

how many time has Ronaldo or neymar been substituted because of this things you mentioned

Gok man i know if Ighalo start the match instead of Iheanacho and put the same performance of Nacho he will still be blamed.

I remember how Ahmed Musa was rated here and some even called him federal character player but what happened yesterday a blissful performance.

Sir,against Iceland Ighalo with few minutes was not woeful,he had a good game cos Iceland defenders were on their toes.

Pls go and watch the match again may be you get it better

Spot on, i remember how our own fans were rejoicing on his misfortune after the handshake incident with his coach in Cska , some said this is an opportunity to drop him.

people said i was supporting musa blindly, today is Musa tomorrow it might be ighalo. they are all our players and should be supported

I do not believe I know more than Rohr. You can make your point without malignant response.

Musa being tired or not was not the response but setting up the team to conserve a two goal lead. Nacho contributes more defensively than Musa. So Musa had to be the one to go out. Not tiredness. Also, John Ogu will bring more stability at the back with Etebo dropping deep to help support the midfield in defending.

baba forget it, we won yesterday and i believe the coach did well with his tactics

We got under pressure with the Iceland players pushing for a goal. Taking out one of the work horses of the team in the midfield for Iwobi who contributes less in respect of tracking, marking and Tackling was clearly a wrong option.

The best form of defense is attack, he needed someone that can holdon to the ball more and not be wasteful when having the ball

Etebo was ahead of mikel, he was the attacking midfielder, he was the 10 yesterday. for Ighalo you guys should watch Nigeria games with clear mind and heart, if ighalo scores you will still jubilate.

I don't know what Ighalo did to you guys go and watch the match again. You guys are so biased. He fought for that ball got it wanted to pass to Musa but a defender arrived, he then passed to Iwobi who made a mess of that chance. You guys are not blaming Iwobi but busy blaming the creator of the chance. Astonishing!!

that's the way things go here, some people are allowed to make mistakes.

previously if Omeruo name comes up, people will say his prone to mistakes but i see leon and ekong do one or two mistake too. Thank God his proving to us what he can do
