charlesemeka85: and the heavy investment which started from 2016 wasn't forthe intention to make it to the epl?" go sleep abeg your type rely more on insults to make a point. for the records wolves spent even more in 2016/2017 season but flirted with relegation and ended up 15 in the league. Championship is one of the most difficult league, nothing is guaranteed even with your money and big players, ask leeds United, they have done everything to come back |

charlesemeka85: Wolves' Premier League ambitions are laid bare in new accounts that show the club has committed £67million on signing players since it was bought by Chinese owners Fosun in 2016.
The spending spree over the last two seasons has seen Wolves soar to the top of the Championship and hold its leadership position for the last five months.
The latest set of accounts from Wolverhampton Wanderers, filed at Companies House this week, show the club spent £32.5m on new players in the financial year to the end of May 2017, including £13m for Helder Costa and £7m, for Ivan Cavaleiro.
But, buried at the back of the 31-page document, the papers reveal that since the end 2016/17 the club has committed another £34.7m on new players.[b] That figure is made up of around £20m on signing Ruben Neves, Roderick Miranda, Barry Douglas and Rafa Mir this season[b] – plus a commitment of between £10m and £15m to buy loan star Diogo Jota this summer.
What the accounts reveal about Financial Fair Play fears The accounts also show that net debt at the club has soared, from just £4.3m in 2016 to £23.8m by the end of May last year.
That is largely due to loans from parent group Fosun as it bankrolls Wolves' promotion ambitions. £6m is due to be repaid to Fosun this year and £21m by the end of May next year.
Wolves big spending and the £23.2m loss the club made in 2016-17 has raised fears over breaching football's Financial Fair Play regulations.
These cap Championship club losses at £39m over three season, but breaching the rules could result in the loss of points, transfer embargoes or fines.
In their strategic report in the accounts, the directors admit that the loss was due to the club's investment in the playing squad, "and therefore there is a risk in repsent of complyuing with the Profit and Sustainability regulations, where failure to meet the required thresholds can result in both financial and operational sanctions to the group".
As a result they are monitoring the situation "month on month", comparing their forecasts for financial performance against the regulations, "to ensure the directors can respond to any potential forecasted breaches to mitigage the risk of such sanctions". the bolded was the signings for the season, this your copy and paste was about there over spending since 2016/2017 season which they even spend more and still got no promotion and it consequences in regards to financial fair play |

charlesemeka85: a lot of great and decent players have joined epl teams from the championship. aston villa's Grealish, fulham's sessegnon etc are among those currently in the lips of most epl teams. dele alli and ademola lookman joined from the 3rd tier of english football. aussie legend cahil joined everton then from milwall and was an instant hit. the likes of john stone, jagielka, zaha joined everton and manchester united from championship clubs also just to mention a few Grealish and sessegnon are still in the championship so no need to bring them up. The other players you mentioned all have one thing in common they were all teenagers when they were bought by premier league club and for the record, jagielka was a premier league player with Sheffield united though they got relegated but he never went down with them before moving to Everton and zaha got promoted with Crystal palace before playing for United Cahill was an exception and this transfer happened 14years ago Bro believe it or not transfers from championship to premier league is not always happening. we all want Etebo in premier league and i hope it happens soon |

charlesemeka85: i doubt if you followed the championship last season. cattermole, oshea and co are washed players who needed better quality players to strive .do you know how much epl new boys spent to sign quality players who outplayed other teams in the league to make it to epl? cardiff had a very good team with experienced players, aston villa who missed out narrowly from coming back to the epl went as far as getting ex chelsea skipper john terry who at his age is miles ahead of the whole sunderland defence. fulham had to lure serbian striker mitrovic and he helped bringing them back to the epl by notching goals almost every match. you still don't get my point, if is by buying players then Birmingham , Middleboro and Aston villa should be up...they had very good players and coach. the league is really crazy, even betting punters never get it right. huddlesfield were having a very tiny and average squad and they got promoted |

charlesemeka85: sunderland's issue was beyond the players and the coaches because the management refused on signing high caliber players who could have helped them remaining in the championship. most of the players they signed were youth players from epl teams very untrue, sunderland had one of the best sqaud in championship. Experience players like; Lee cattermole,Aiden mc Geady and John o'shea international players like; paddy McNair(former Manchester united),Jack Rodwell, lamine kone(CIV),bryan Oviedo(costa rica) in championship you don't need big name to get promotion, is a very difficult league, Cardiff can't boast of better players compare to sunderland but they got promotion. stoke is not guarantee to go up and they are mot guarantee to stay up and not relegate |

Icon79: Yup. Semi finals is very possible but not this time. This time, due to the luck of the draw (group of death) and our goalkeeping problems, I don't expect anything better than a round of 16 performance. And that would be a big achievement. Because if we come second in our group, we may most likely France in the round of 16 - an uphill task!
However, if the NFF has the common sense to keep Rohr in charge, with his organization and foresight, I will expect us to do very well in 2022. Semi finals isn't an unimaginable goal either. After all, Ghana was on their way to making the semi finals in 2010 if not for Luis Suarez's hand ball in the last minute of the extra time!
O pari the gap between teams has slim down tremendously, France or another team ain't unbeatable, we need to believe |

Should've waited till after the World Cup he should have waited, i believe he could have gotten something better, maybe a premier league team or laliga team. you never know what you can get from a championship team, sunderland went down even with a very experienced side, Birmingham and Middlesbrough spent big and still didn't come up. Danielnino00: Even if Rohr will be too stubborn to start with 3-5-2 he should at least do the following
1) Start Ebuehi ahead of shehu 2) Don't play Iwobi on the wings. it won't only reduce him ineffective, but his continuous drifting to the middle could leave his wing exposed. 3) Neither of Onazi or Joel obi should start. in fact they should both not play at all the bolded is not true, playing iwobi in the centre of 4-2-3-1 and bringing mikel deep with ndidi will expose us against Croatia, having another DM with ndidi then Mikel in there front and always dropping deep is key Croatia strength is in the midfield, we need to match them and a mikel should be freed to give some passes when we finally get some possession. |

Rockyrascal: finidi really helped oparaku in that wing. If you still recall very well, the Spanish side were ascendant on that wing; there was more pressure on oparaku than babayaro because he was callow in that RB position.
We really need our wingers to always fall back to join the defense against our opponents, this is one reason I will miss moses Simon in this tournament. yea finidi was very deep in that match, i was not really impressed with okparaku in that tournerment |

TheSuperNerd: Then how come Ekong had featured mostly in the middle in a back three? Does he lack a good reading of the game too? Are you saying he is not a good ball passer/ball player? Balogun's fine positional intelligence is also utilized to cover for the left side of defence either in a four man back line or a three man back line. We have seen this in the team up until Rohr decided to try out an Ogu ( who is also not fast) as LCB. Why play Ogu as LCB if playing on the sides mostly only requires speed? I'm not saying we have not tried it before, but watch how ogu was out speeded by welbeck in that game, not like ekong is not good with the ball too but i believe Balogun is a better ball player than him. in your spare time make research in how 3 man defense is set out |

Icon4s: I don't trust any system that is not tested and tried.
You cannot be proposing 3-5-2 during our WC qualifiers when there were no friendlies to test the formation and also considering that the players only had 4-5 days of Camping.
The team has been together for weeks now, they have tested the formation in friendly games. They have identified which players can function well when it is adopted so? What next? One week close camping before kick off will also be good enough time to better perfect this strategy.
We need a robust midfield to outwit Croatia and the 3-5-2 offers just that. even Rohr was intelligent enough not to have tried it during qualifiers |

Icon79: When exactly did Clemence Westerhof held this open screening session? Or were you referring to a different Westerhof? Please, you guys should stop all these nonsense because there are people here who actually follow all these things and have been following for the past 15 years as well. I remember correctly that Nigerians started wailing and crying that Westerhof must include Tijani Babangida in the team just because he scored a hat trick in the final friendly game the team played in Nigeria, but Westerhof ignored all that nonsense and went to the World Cup with the team he had.
Nigerians are the most annoying people on the planet. Every single one of them knows better than the coach while there are out there making peanuts while the coaching is raking in millions. Which begs the question, if you actually knows better than the coach, my not go out there and show your stuff? No, they only do their own coaching behind the computer screens. That's why we call them the Internet Certified Coaches (ICC). i talked about this same thing before, you can only analyze and suggest not making it look like you are better than the coach. some one here said, some people here are better than Rohr and another said Rohr is tactically not sound probably because his not doing things you want him to do. Internet certified coaches indeed |

TheSuperNerd: Ekong is also a good ball passer. This is why he has functioned well in that role for the team in a back three. Balogun can do it too of course. Both are capable in the middle. Just that Ekong's speed is also key. He is much faster than Balogun. the faster CB is always in the side, he sometimes position just azpil of Chelsea or monreal of arsenal, the centre one is the defender with better reading of the game and great passing skills |

Humility017: how I wish the German can adopt this formation and strategy against the crots....
I was talking with my cousin yesterday.. that Nigeria doing well in this world cup...all depends on the coach... because the players to give any of the 32 world cup team A run for their money we have them in these team....
a good team selection will help Nigeria pass these group stage with ease...than we all think.... the problem we all are having is that rohr is not that sound a tactician as he is when it comes to man management.... he is a good man manager but tactics wise...he don't really have it much...
reason why someone like siasia/amuneke/manu garba as assistants would have yield more fruits.... well let's hope for the best... i really disagree, rohr is tactically sound, his changes during match will tell you more about it, his ability to read game and tweek his players and formation to bring out change is not easy and a bad tactician but good manager will only relax on shouting and motivating players. Rohr started the 3-5-2 before we all got crazy of it, he believed it suited the Argentina game he won, the man is not in a box or rather scared to make change like fixing Ogu in the defence, nobody saw that coming. Rohr is tactically sound |

Meanwhile, I will move Ekong central to play as the man in the middle of the back three... While Omeruo plays RCB. An Awaziem can also do a good job there at RCB too. i think Balogun will be more suitable in the middle, the middle of a 3 man defense need a good passer of the ball, he most time brings the ball out of the defense |

Sunnypa11: The line-up laid more emphasis on team players rather than individual tricks.
From the friendlies, Victor looked exhausted and it could be a blessing for us if he starts on the bench against Croatia against a tired defence.
More so, he had a tournament to forget in 2014. Moses starting from the bench is not realistic in this team, the coach believe so much in him. moses will start against Croatia |
