This will be the first time I'm being called out since actively selling phones here for close to 4 years now, I've always wondered when it will finally happen to me

This my guy here bought a foreign used 11 ultra from me in October of 2023, he sent me a text on December 21 informing me that his phones WiFi has been acting up for a while and is basically unusable at that point.
I had to go to the Xiaomi thread on telegram with this issue because this was the first time I was hearing of it even though I have sold numerous 11 ultras in the past and since then. I was asked to tell him to try factory resetting his device then Busuyi44 also sent me some other complaints from people who passed through the same issue with their 11 ultra. The general consensus on those screenshots Busuyi sent to me was that the phones motherboard would have to be changed, some people also said they were able to solve theirs by flashing a new custom ROM.

I relayed all this new information to Marvel and continued trying my best to help him in trying out every conceivable option before we might have to resort to getting a motherboard.
When he started asking to return the phone, I tried every means possible to explain to him that no one will collect back a used phone after 2 months of usage and the only thing we can do going forward will be to find a way to get a replacement motherboard. I tried to explain to him that the same warranty guiding a brand new phone will obviously not be in place for a used phone which was where I told him that I give my buyers 1 week to confirm that the phone they bought was in the described condition.
He said I tried to gaslight him which is crazy cause in our chats I mentioned multiple times that the issue was neither his fault nor mine. I can always post the chats from the beginning so he can show me where I tried to gaslight him.
I was also ready to chip in to get the replacement motherboard which is against what he said up there. He however was very adamant on wanting to return the phone which was impossible at that point.
I would also like to be cleared on this please so it doesn't seem like I was being unreasonable, would anyone else here take back a used phone that was sold in very good condition after 2 months of it being sold?
He abruptly ended our chat after I refused to collect the phone back so I did not know when or if he bought a motherboard and everything after that.
The battery issue he mentioned here is also new information to me because he never told me of it.

There is a reason I have not been called before now, it's not because all the phones I've sold were in amazing condition but because I'm always very quick to solve any problems encountered immediately. I have replaced phones for a decent number of people here for varying reasons and I'm sure they can attest to this. The case of my guy up here was just a case of the issue not coming with the phone when it was sold and 2 months being way too much of a time difference. I still consistently tried to proffer solutions to him but at the end of the day it did not work out.

I do not fault him for sharing his side of the story but I just felt the need to butress some points and clear a few misconceptions from his part.

What do you mean you were ready to chip in when I tried to get a motherboard replacement? You only sent me an engineer's number. I asked that we both fund the cost you explicitly replied with
"Why would I do that"? You hung me out dry

So I was meant to keep begging you to help me when it was clear there was nothing you were ready to help me with save for preferring online solutions? You can't say you sold me a phone in good condition. The fact that you've sold phones to a gazillion other people doesn't change the fact that this happened.

The phone rebooted a month into usage on its own and I did not inform because why the hell would I think that a phone I purchased could already have problems.

I informed you two months in when the wifi stopped working totally. A month or two does not matter. You said your warranty was a week and that can only be the case if you're unsure of the condition of what you're selling.

I pleaded with you and begged you multiple times. Telling you I would be phoneless, all to no avail. And I was literally phoneless for over a month when the motherboard was in transit.

Just wanted to drop my experience here since I checked for reviews before I patronized Meister. I got an Mi 11 Ultra from him last October, UK used. A month into the usage, the phone started rebooting on its own when connected to Wifi and I noticed it got incredibly hot. Two months in, the wifi and hotspot became unusable and it eventually stopped booting.

I contacted Meister and we tried to find a solution and then we discovered it was an innate hardware issue ( A defective unit from Xiaomi). He would not accept it back nor take a swap despite all my pleas. He gave me an engineer's number, Igemburg - I don't know if I got the name correctly. I contacted him and he confirmed it was a motherboard issue.

Anyways, I eventually had to order for a motherboard from AliExpress, spent about 200k. 166k for the motherboard, 20k for the repair in Ibadan plus waybill cost etc. I had spent about 650k total on the phone (450k) now. After repair, the phone was still getting hot but it came on and I was able to use it for another two months before the problem resurfaced last month.

Had to swap it with Google pixel 8 pro for a 15% off to someone else this month. The phone was an incredible loss for me, need I say that the battery was also horrendously bad. Prior to this, I had used a Xiaomi phone I got from Protein0 for 3 good years without issues, he tried to gaslight me that it was my fault. Anyways, he might not have known that it was a faulty unit but he should have done right by me, either by accepting a return or a swap.. both of which he firmly rejected and left it to me as MY LOSS

Oh and he said his warranty was a week. Lol

I started learning Node and Express late July and after building some mini Mern applications that didn't see the light of day, I decided to embark on this one and deploy.

It's a diary application that can perform the CRUD operations. Sign up and login forms are validated with Yup and Formik, I had been running from them but I decided to face my fears, turned out well. Once you login, a user token is generated which is passed and verified by the auth middleware anytime you try to access an endpoint.

It was initially intended to be a note application but I changed the concept last minute. It's for you alone and I don't get to see them. The contents of your diaries are stored as encrypted text on MongoDb with the help of Cryptr.

I decided to use ReactQuillJs rich text editor due to the support for pictures and videos (I haven't even tested to see if the video is working sha). I also figured that it will be a nice idea to upload pictures for the sake of explicitly keeping memories. It was a bit of headache for me while trying to validate it.


Redux, first attempt at building something of this scale. I worked on a project some months back without redux and it was really messy while trying to manage global states with deeply nested components. I had to start bringing them to the app level

I tried to sort the diaries by day created and moment Js was the perfect fit. Threw it in my Redux Slice component and created more states that had the sorted entries


I employed React Toastify for notifications which was really nice. It was not fun though when the app misfired, it literally painted my inadequacies on my face

Design, I didn't have any UI planned, I just went for it and it kinda delayed since I had to change some things at the last minute. I used Tailwind for the first time too and it really sped up development. I didn't learn of intelliscene soon enough so I had to consult their documentation 1001 times

Kindly give your reviews, and feedbacks, and bugs. I'd be updating it with more features later (Like the user profile and update), 'starred' functionality and folder functionality on mobile

I see many freelancers complain of power issues. I wouldn’t know how much you have made from the hustle, but there is a laptop powerbank. Except you have video calls to make, I believe it would serve in ensuring your devices are up and running. It is a smart powerbank with a voltage regulator.

I have one and I haven’t used it in a long time. It serves when I am on the go or out of the house for hours. If it seems like something that can help your ministry, you can get it.

Omo, this week had it's share of stress, there were times I got depressed and didn't see the point of anything. It was seriously challenging and mentally draining. Especially since alx Virtual Assistant Program just got even more complex.

I'm also glad to say I have met people who helped me overcome my stress. One of them who is my Onee-chan (big brother lol), we connected from this Nairaland and has been studying C together.

Next week we'll fully be starting data structures, mehn... Not going to lie, I'm a bit tense cause of the hype but doesn't mean I won't scale through.

The project for yesterday required us to work in pairs to create our own printf. I'm five the deadline is 5days, cause Omo... I'm not in a rush.

The August cohort are doing quite well in that group, a lot have gone far with their studies and I really respect their determination. Don't give up
