Business / Business Challenges And Problem-solving by Maryimafidon: 12:50pm On Jul 31, 2023
As much as it seems like running businesses is what almost everyone is into, including teenagers, it is no walk in the park. However, one's ability to overcome obstacles sets successful entrepreneurs apart. I’ve included some challenges I have faced since I started my business and how I've tackled them - from managing cash flow fluctuations to adapting to changing market demands.

To address cash flow challenges, implement smart budgeting, maintain a cash reserve, and explore alternative funding options like business loans or crowdfunding. Adapting to market demands requires staying updated with industry trends, conducting market research, and embracing innovation to meet customer needs. Building a strong team, nurturing customer relationships, and investing in professional development can help overcome challenges in scaling and growth. Remember, every challenge is an opportunity for growth and innovation.

Crime / Job Scams People Should Be Aware Of by Maryimafidon: 2:51pm On Jun 08, 2023
With many people anxious about making ends meet in this economy and getting a better-paying job to alleviate their financial stress, it is easy to fall prey to fake jobs. Scammers often lure victims with promises of high-paying jobs, remote work, or opportunities abroad. They often request payment for application fees, training materials or even ask for personal information that can be misused for identity theft.

To protect yourself, always research the company thoroughly, verify its legitimacy through official websites or contact information, and be cautious of unsolicited job offers or requests for financial transactions. Additionally, be aware of red flags such as poor grammar in job postings, unrealistic promises, or requests for payment upfront. Stay safe, and share this information to help others avoid falling victim to these job scams.

Just curious, are you also a little sad your friend is getting married?
Culture / Nigerian Traditional Wedding Customs: From Courtship To Marriage by Maryimafidon: 8:11am On Apr 26, 2023
My friend's traditional wedding is tomorrow, and my excitement is through the roof. I've witnessed her relationship from when it was just them and now both families are finally coming together. One thing I love about Nigerian weddings is the traditional ones; they have more vibrance than white weddings and honour our heritage.

From courtship, where the couple get to know each other and their families (while also seeking approval and blessings from their parents), to the introduction, where the groom's family approaches the bride's family to introduce themselves and make their intentions known.
Then there’s the engagement and traditional wedding, where the bride's price is paid, and their union is celebrated with extended family members and friends.

I think the best thing is that the wedding brings the entire families together in harmony and love.

Business / QNET Offers A Business Opportunity, Not A Regular Job by Maryimafidon: 4:16pm On Mar 06, 2023
QNET doesn’t provide jobs but rather a business opportunity. Now you might wonder how it's a business opportunity and not a job offer; the direct selling opportunity QNET offers isn’t a job; it's a business opportunity for entrepreneurial-minded individuals to start and grow their own business.

Understanding the difference between direct selling and 9-5 or white-collar jobs is essential. Corporate jobs are rigid; you have to wake up early to prepare for work; living in a city like Lagos means waking up extra early to beat traffic. You get to the office, and work for the required amount of time, usually 9 am - 5 pm; get home, and the next day you repeat the same cycle, then at the end of the month, you collect your salary. It also requires academic qualifications and experience before getting the job.

Direct selling, however, is flexible and accessible in that you can work even from the comfort of your home. It also doesn’t discriminate against education, experience, and even age, which are always considered in corporate jobs. In direct selling, you are your boss; you decide where, when and how you work. Unlike in corporate jobs with a hierarchy and those in a higher position earn more money than the rest, with direct selling, everyone has the same earning capacity.

Understanding these differences makes it easier to decipher how to gain with QNET. It also helps you quickly identify fake job offers in the name of QNET because, with QNET, you get to build your own direct selling business; you decide when, if, where, and how to scale operations; its hard work which involves a whole lot of patience to grow, because the growth of the business is literally in your hands.

Direct selling is not like the regular 9 - 5 jobs. Therefore, if you choose to take the QNET direct selling business opportunity, you must take steps and decide to grow.

As far as I know, joining the company is free; you register as a distributor for free without payment, as the company does not ask for payment. The only payment is when you buy products for your use directly from the company, and then the distributor who recommended the product gets a commission from the company for the sale.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I Just Received An Interview Notification From QNET. Can I Trust It? by Maryimafidon: 2:12pm On Feb 06, 2023
Hmmm, it is easier to join others screaming that QNET is a scam than taking out the time to investigate why this particular assumption is being made. By now, anyone interested in the QNET business opportunity should have gathered enough information to identify the scammers who approach people using the QNET name.

I keep reading about severe incidents of various scamming activities by “QNET”. Yet when you read the stories in the middle of the controversies, you realise that these scammers introduce QNET with different names, only to exploit people. Yet we don’t know this because we do not care enough to analyse things ourselves.

QNET is a well-known global e-commerce direct-selling company that offers a wide range of health, wellness, lifestyle, and education products. It has been operating for 25 years in more than 25 countries worldwide. They offer a great business opportunity for thousands of people who sign up as distributors to become entrepreneurs. They are not a recruitment agency, as these fraudsters often claim. So, no, QNET is not a scam. Unfortunately, some scammers have been exploiting the company’s popularity to carry out fraudulent activities, and you should beware of such.

He lost his job, lost his 550k.

Family / How The Holidays Affect Interpersonal Relationships by Maryimafidon: 10:57pm On Jan 28, 2023
December and the first weeks of January have a notable impact on one’s well-being. For most families, it brings more closeness and better social and mental well-being. The holidays also promote group gatherings. Best friends who barely have time because of work get to meet up, extended family members or friends hang out, and so much more. This social ritual helps reduce loneliness, especially for older family members who live alone and barely get the chance to interact much with their children and grandchildren during the year.

I was lucky enough and blessed to have experienced this during the just-ended holiday season. My siblings and I could visit our parents and spend some days at home with them; I finally had uninterrupted video calls with my grandparents, who usually called on weekdays while I was busy at work. I met up with my best friends and even hung out with colleagues from work. I can’t even explain how much these interactions prepared me mentally for the new year.

The holidays have positively impacted my emotions, and my participation in family celebrations improved my physical well-being. For once, during the holidays, I was satisfied with my blessed life.
Business / Re: Is Qnet Company A Scam ? Please Help Me by Maryimafidon: 12:15am On Jan 20, 2023
I applaud you for trying to discover who QNET is before taking the next step; at least you have saved yourself and many others like you from an even bitter story if you had fallen victim to any fraudulent activity. The people gave you half-baked truth. My search into direct selling led me to know that QNET has been in business since 1998 and does have a global presence in more than 25 countries and customers in nearly 100 countries. It is also a member of the Direct Selling Association, a self-regulatory industry body with strict rules and codes of conduct in several countries.
It is, however, essential to note that QNET does not offer jobs or travel opportunities in exchange for payment, as you mentioned here. They only reward you with a commission as gratitude for introducing others to purchase their products too. You do not need to pay anyone to buy your products for you, nor do you get a commission if no product purchase has been made or recorded. I’d advise that you get the name of the distributor trying to register you and verify their legitimacy by emailing network.integrity@qnet.net. once when I was almost scammed like this, I sent them an email, and they helped me confirm that I was about to be scammed because those trying to initiate me into it were not registered Independent Reps. Even such reps are not company staff but people who only buy and sell from them. They will do the same for you too.

Business / Qnet’s Contribution To Entrepreneurship by Maryimafidon: 4:37pm On Dec 30, 2022
QNET is one of the world’s largest direct selling and E-commerce companies. As a brand, QNET has positioned itself as a company that cares about the financial literacy of young people. This they proved through the launch of their financial literacy programme, FinGreen.

The initiative equips participants with financial literacy and entrepreneurial and employability skills, skills that can be used to grow in the business world. It is one thing to be interested in starting a business, but it is another thing for the business to grow without the knowledge of the necessary skills.

QNET also supports entrepreneurship through the opportunities the company offers. When individuals sign up as distributors, QNET provides an excellent opportunity to become entrepreneurs and earn a decent income through product sales. With QNET, you only need to buy and sell some of their products, promote them and encourage others to do the same. You will then receive a commission on every sale you make. Several people have earned an extra living to take care of their families thanks to the direct selling module QNET adopts.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Scam alert: Quest International Company In Port Harcourt by Maryimafidon: 5:32pm On Nov 28, 2022
I have been an Independent Representative of QNET for about a year and I can confidently tell you that QNET offers weekly after-sales commissions that are earned from the income generated by you and your team. However, it is important to note that one’s level of success and commission earned is determined by their active pay rank, which is largely dependent on individual capacity, business experience, ideas, techniques implemented, expertise, knowledge, and level of one’s desire. This is not a job. The company makes no guarantees, promises, or assurances on the level of success one can achieve.

It has worked for me, and I encourage anyone interested to take out time to visit the company’s website, qnet.net, click on OPPORTUNITY, and find that section, Earnings and Income. This subsection explains in detail everything one needs to know about the do’s and don’ts of QNET and how earnings and income can be made, as well. I am most grateful for a little yet significant piece of information I found on their website about the earnings and income disclaimer. They make every modality that comes with earning or income statements made by the company or an Independent Representative very clear. It has vindicated me in times when people have tried questioning my testimonies about the brand.

Now you might ask, “What about the testimonial videos the company puts out there?” Well, these testimonials are meant to encourage upcoming people to aim for exceptional results which will certainly get them to arrive at those levels. It demands a lot of hard sales work and may not apply to people who engage in partial sales. Hence it is not a guarantee that every other person will achieve the same or similar results because the business isn’t a ‘get-rich-quick’ scheme.

I easily verify my claims or earnings by a simple request when I visit the company’s website qnet.net and anyone can try doing the same and thank me later.

ExtremeDot:

A relative of mine is currently on my neck to join this company. The company, is located in Port Harcourt - Owerri Road. Port Harcourt.

He said, he joined last month. He paid a sum of 550,000 Naira only, for registration. The money is ment for his necessary documentations. He is currently undergoing his two months training.

Now, he has been calling and preaching how juicy the remuneration of the company is. Stating they pay 160USD every week.

Now, he has been on my neck stating he learnt there is an opening for new intake and he wants me to come join him and take up the form, as one would need to also pay the 550K as well.

My brother, what do you think?
Is their mode of operation that straight forward? Or,
This is another marketing/networking/referral kind of shit?

What is the logic behind prospective employee paying 550,000 Naira to enroll. After the training, the company pays them 160USD weekly?

Why not find a way to take the 550,000Naira (800USD) from the employee's initial remunerations until it is complete.

This thing deh confuse me.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Orezone!? Gold Quest!?: The Sinister Plot Of Qnet. Job Scam In Burkina Faso by Maryimafidon: 3:02pm On Nov 03, 2022
Hmmm, I know how painful it is to be a victim of fraud schemes and lose money that you could've used for something else, the pain no be here. However, it is more painful and unfair when one particular company keeps taking the fall for a crime it has no relation to. This is the case of QNET, the flagship business of the QI Group, which is about 24 years old and has a company size of 501 to 1,000.
They use the direct selling model to harness the power of technology that gives customers worldwide access to unique, high-quality products and services while allowing them to build a sales business by promoting these products. Let's research more to discover who QNET is so we don’t continue being scammed.
You mentioned they had been banned in some countries. Yet, they are very active with a footprint in the Middle East, South and East Asia, Africa, Central Asia, and Europe. They have helped develop micro-entrepreneurs in many emerging economies.
It is regrettable and of great concern when fake job offers are put out in the name of QNET, inviting people to interviews and requesting money, admissions and so on.
When you type the name QNET, on google, the direct link to their website, qnet.net, is the first thing you see. When you click on this link and open the website, a pop-up urgent warning message is the first thing you see, disclaiming fake employment offers using the QNET name. You can reach out to them on that site to inquire if the people claiming to provide you with anything are legitimate.

AndyOk127:
What will be your reflexive reaction if you are told that you have an opportunity to work with international gold cooperation that pays 200 dollars per week and a palatable working hour! All you need to do is come with 600 thousand Naira (or your local currency equivalent) for your work permit, medical fitness check and other working preliminaries for an immigrant. Wow! Sounds like your dream opportunity and a way to JAPA (JAPA is a common parlance for leaving Nigeria for a better country as a result of the debilitating condition of her economy, politics, and general societal flaws)

With the apparition of such opportunity, there is the inherent Thomas that serves as a scrutiny and check for every opportunity of scandalousness nonetheless the other side of us trumps this cynical clairvoyance with the sentiment of trust for the carrier of the “good” news. After a period of tussle with your inner matrix and your rationality, you decide to be daring and give it a risk, Afterall, you know this person offering the opportunity.

Well, the above is just a prelude to a one week of adventurousness and first-hand experience of how I fell for the Qnet job scam in Burkina Faso. Hence, it is a moral responsibility to unmask the hideous operation of this swelling swath in bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. Hopefully this will save any one from the whole daringness and desperado of going down to Burkina Faso, and serve as an information for security personnel to put these people in check. Hopefully, the companies being impersonated, sees reason to make a public disclaimer and proceed to legal action as this is a case of impersonation and sabotage of company’s reputation.

So, what are we talking about?
In the simplest way of expression, the whole job whisk is disguise of a marketing company called Qnet! Because of its stampeded image in the internet, many branches of their operation have found it impossible to garner more members, which is the only way of retrieving your startup capital. Bombay HC order better describes the ideological conception of Qnet when he said “It is a chain where a person is fooled and then he is trained to fool others to earn money”.

A simple query in the web with the following key words “is Qnet a scam”? will fetch several articles warning against their unethical operation. Wikipedia extensively exposes Qnet, down to revealing that its operation is considered illicit in many countries “The company operates legally in some countries, but has been charged as a Ponzi scheme and multi-level marketing in countries like India. The government of India and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India banned the site in the country after a protest spread in Bangalore”.

Now you see why they take different names to obfuscate their true identity; because if you are told “Qnet”, you will do your findings and save yourself the hassle and futile escapade.

Inside Qnet bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso
the operation of this unethical group is easy to flaw in an in-person view of their lodging accommodation and supposed company house. They operate sanctimoniously and talk so much about being millionaires back home and being “on a low” in Burkina Faso.

They stay in a rented 2-bedroom flat apartment which is uncomfortably overcrowded with over house mates. They reverence the new intakes and try to act like it’s just a process of acculturation, but in reality it is a bait.

Their office of operation is stamped with motivational quotes and they try to compel you to sign a form of membership. On this form, there is a section that confirms your willingness to join and ensures you are not coerce but in reality, they coarse you with every non-violent way possible. A retrospective view of the setting can easily make one associate them with a level of sectism and even cultism by extension of reasoning.

So why do they still operate and gain new members?
Imagine telling your friends and family that you are finally leaving Nigeria for search of a greener pasture, if you are that type, you may even brag about it and to crown it, this swath is bobo Dioulasso advice you to come without doing your proper immigration paper and working with a syndicate of currency exchangers and illegal transit agent, they manage to smuggle you through the blind spots of the borders between countries.

Hence, when it is dawn on the new recruits that they have just been swindled by their friend or family, they undergo a period of shock and disillusionment, considering their trust that has been trampled upon, this matures to a state of compromise and salvage when they consider the people back home that they have bragged to about their relocation and the entire journey back home especially alone, without the assistant of the Qnet agents that plot the illicit travel; they regret it all but reluctantly ossifies to a level of salvage, a spirit of resilience that motivates them to thrive irrespective of the odds. And like religion, once they accept this fate, they start to believe in it and begin their own campaign to recruit more people, using new pseudonym to seduce more people to this trap!

My take and solution
To tackle this syndicate is something beyond the writings of a scholar. Well, a couple person will be saved from this Burkina Faso job scam, but in the near distance, the Qnet operation in Burkina Faso will find a different synonym to mask their identity and in fact, facilitate more illegal migration and scam. The onus therefor lies in the hands of the government of Burkina Faso and the companies being impersonated to expedite action to stop this sect. The banning of their operation by countries like India and many more is the best call to action and I hope Burkina Faso follows suit.

Finally, before traveling out of your country or going for any opportunity, make sure to do exponential research of the opportunity, ask for images, videos, and every other thing that can clear every doubt.

I have chosen to exclude name mentioning and exact location description unless I am required by the rightful parties. I for one will make sure the rightful parties are informed of this scam, stay safe and daring!
Business / QNET Fingreen Project by Maryimafidon: 2:32pm On Aug 31, 2022
Recently, I've noticed some posts on nairaland talking about a FinGreen project, so I decided to look into it and see if it's something that would be beneficial to me and other Nigerians. I'd like to share my thoughts on it so far.

The QNET FinGreen Project is a corporate social responsibility of QNET. The FinGreen project is aimed at teaching financial literacy skills to young people. This is so young people can achieve financial freedom by learning about budgeting, saving and investing. The project launched with twenty young people in June, 2022. These first participants became FinGreen Ambassadors. They were tasked with training about twenty other young people in their communities on financial literacy skills.
These trainings are currently going on. Last I heard, they had trained about 200 young people in Lagos, Ogun and Osun states. The FinGreen project further teaches young people on mindsets, employability and entreprenuership skills.

This seems like a great opportunity for young people in Nigeria to do better for themselves in life.

QNET is a company that makes it possible for distributors to sell health, lifestyle, and educational products, and in return they earn commissions on the sales they make.

QNET no dey recruit people or promise travel opportunities, they only provide opportunities for people that want to make honest income or build their business by becoming independent representatives of QNET. QNET Representatives will not offer you a "QNET job opportunity" for quick money or tell you to come for interview and ask you to pay money before getting the job. Anyone making such promise is fake and not from QNET.
I learnt all these by checking out this page qnet.net, you should check it out too, you'd learn a lot about the company.
