TV/MoviesRe: Pirated DVDs With 16 Movies: Is Nollywood Doomed? by maryray(f): 7:56pm On Mar 20, 2008
It depends on where your interest is. many people still watch nollywood 24/7 without a single foreign movie. their fans will continue to patronise them even if the price is higher
This is so true, count me in. If someone offered me 3 foreign movies for 20naira and i refused and went 4 d expensive home videos, then no matter d price i'm there. Given a choice, i would rather watch African, African, etc, and when they are out of stock maybe indian, american, or chinese.

Too bad d indian one is too stupid its like u are watching someone dancing from d beginning 2 d end, d chinese is not worth talking about apart from Jackie Chans own, and the American/foreign one, the only thing that is helping it survive is their constant advertising and portraying it as something good, and the only ones that are actually worth watching is the Black Hollywood ones. Men those guys are good.

Conclusion, prefer African and Black hollywood movies 2 every other movies. Dont say i'm biased, honestly watch it and see.
TV/MoviesRe: Pirated DVDs With 16 Movies: Is Nollywood Doomed? by maryray(f): 7:47pm On Mar 20, 2008
totally agree with Combrazor. Absolutely! There is no basis for direct comparison. Most foreign film followers I know rarely get interested in our local home videos because of the lack of content appeal. I buy mostly Yoruba films and even though I pay more for them, it has never bothered me. I also noticed that Nigerians who follow this home videos don't have any complains about their price in comparison with the foreigh DVDs that are available everywhere.
This is so true, in one of the rental place i go to, the rental guy used to BEG! me to take 3 foreign movies for just 20naira!. There is little or no comparison btw foreign and African movies. Honestly, the last time i paid for foreign movie was like, hmmmmmmmmmmmm cant recall, but African was like today.
TV/MoviesRe: Pirated DVDs With 16 Movies: Is Nollywood Doomed? by maryray(f): 7:41pm On Mar 20, 2008
my dear, if you actually believe that even a penny of the revenue brought in by this so-called "Nollywood channel" goes back to Nollywood, i have a tower in Paris i am interested in selling to you!
O boy u too much!.
TV/MoviesRe: Pirated DVDs With 16 Movies: Is Nollywood Doomed? by maryray(f): 7:40pm On Mar 20, 2008
@ Seun, Thanks this is so true. Since independence.
It is known as the copyright law. Unfortunately, laws don't enforce themselves.

TV/MoviesRe: Most Handsome Nigerian Actors by maryray(f): 11:39pm On Mar 07, 2008
dolly u know, maybe u should stick 2 being a doll and stop segregating. Its people like u that help mess up AFRICA. If Van Vicker is Ghanian or a Nigerian, that is none of ur business. U are not better than Ghanians, and b4 u whine that i am saying this becos i am Ghanaian, i am not. If u cant stop being racist, buzz of.
TravelRe: Tuition Free Education In Sweden by maryray(f): 12:19am On Feb 10, 2008
@ DAPSY, u said u got admission there. How did u do it. i am in canada now, but i'm really interested in switching. I'm just afraid that life there might be rough, and i wont be able to get work there. How expensive is it to live there, and what is d coldest weather u have there. Also do we have to know he language. Do we have a lot of Africans there, and do the people there treat people like trash. U can reach me at LadyYesu_beauty@yahoo.com.au. Or 204-952-7467. Mind u its international.

If u can help me, i'll appreciate it. i'm undecided if its better there or stay here, but i just dont like it here. Anyway are u working, and on average, how much do u spend in nigerian currency per month. ie including food, rent, text books, and everything. Do u think i will be able to scale through d embassy with a 3.7gp from canada?.

You know my contact. Have a nice day. Bye.

@Etin, they think its their right. And while i am not saying all d girls are inocent, most of them are victims of circumstance.
EducationRe: To School And Work In Sweden:tuition Free! by maryray(f): 7:59pm On Feb 09, 2008
Need help from all u guyz huh, is this swedish stuff really  here good. someone abeg advise me. Presently, i am in Canada, also i'm a resident, and while i'm not paying international student fee, my school fee is still expensive anyway. Added 2 d fact that i decided 2 be a big girl and asked my mom not to be sending money to me, i am now paying my feeding, rent, fees, transportation, clothing, just name it, and i am only 20!. Also i really dont like this place, u wont believe that within my first week here, i was already planning to go back 2 nigeria, and d only thing keeping me here is that i decided to finish my education first.

Do u guyz think it's a good idea to transfer my courses, and go 2 school there in December. Do i have 2 speak their language, or is english d work language. Also will i be able to get a job there fast (i mean really fast, and as a normal naija, i will even pay anyone who can hook me up with a good job), or get someone to fix me up with a job, or is their job opportunity there like Naija. Anyone of u guyz can reach me at LadyYesu_beauty@yahoo.com.au, or call my number which is 204-952-7467(mind u, u are risking ur credit if u are not in canada).

Please u guyz should advice me through my email or whatever, i have a laptop at home anyway, and i always check my email. If u really think its rosy, especially with the job opportunities, then i might just switch oh. And if u know someone in school there already, d story might help. Also how do they treat people there, ope its not like all this yeye north americans, cause eye dont want 2 be going from frying pan to fire undecided. The thing with the embassy should not be a problem, after convertind some dollars, it should carry weight there grin.

CareerRe: Why Are All Africans Studying Nursing In America? by maryray(f): 7:51pm On Feb 09, 2008
@@@@@@ Wills, Hello. U said u want to help ur girl. Well America might be good, but schools there are too expensive. Canada might be good, but the tax we pay in this country is too much. Added to the fact that she is international. I heard University of Manitoba is relatively cheap, not sure how much, also heard university of Lethbridge is like $6 k for fees, ie comparing to others who pay between 10 and 17k.

Conversely, while i dont know much about this stuff, a lot of people are going to sweden, norway, and other scandinavian countries, becos SCHOOL IS FREE. All u need to worry about is convincing d embassy that u can take care of urself, and probably show a little money. If it works out for u, tell me becos i am thinking of leaving canada to maybe sweden, holland or norway. My friends friend is in Finland, and his tuition is of course free, but according to him, through her, the only problem in finland is that u have to learn their language. Good luck sha. If u need more info,(dont need info too many times abeg, cos b/w my cousin in malaysia who wants to come here, and my work and mid term exam in school this week, I aint got too much time) u can reach me at LadyYesu_beauty@yahoo.com.au. Good luck.
CareerRe: Should I Resign From My Bank Job? by maryray(f): 6:58pm On Feb 09, 2008
@ GOLDENRAY, as our people say when something happens once, its okay, when it happens a second time, its a coincidence, and when it happens a third time, o baby Gods hand is there. You have rejected many jobs, i think u should take this last one with a thriple pay, and some yrs down d road if u dont like it, u can change it.

Your getting offers now does not mean u will keep on getting it, and also it might be d will of God for u 2 work in d bank. You had better accept d offer now cause u might end up spending d rest of ur life regretting. its ur choice, u could hold on and still get d job u want, or u might not be lucky.

And MEKUSHAI, my only advice is no matter how difficult, stick it out until u get the job u want. YDo not quit this job now, you could always ask for a day or week sick leave and go for interviews. Be wise, my cousin/elder sister finished school in 2005 with a SECOND CLASS UPPER. I mean she missed first class by a few marks, and as u all know this is 2008, and she is STILL LOOKING FOR A JOB. Thank ur stars, and act prudently. Good luck.

@ UI as i said its easy for u to say, u are d guy anwway. JTry putting urself in their shoe and if u have any brain, will be able 2 figure out what some on them are feeling. Their self esteem and pride in themselves has already been reduced, help them feel worst em, THANK U. Just dont do d same to others cos as someone said, someone might just do it to ur daughter tongue, and u must not complain.

hello Albato, i see u are online. How is UK huh.
CultureRe: My Wife-To-Be Is An "Osu" by maryray(f): 6:39am On Feb 09, 2008
Albato thanks a lot.You see its only when u travel outside of this country, that u acquire some sense. Black cat, trust me your name fits u, no insult intended. What if u find out some years from them that your grand father was an osu, and therefore u are one. Would u like someone to segregate u. To all in favour of this segregation, i hope u will understand when some colorless(white) idiot, tells u they are better than u cause they are white. I ope u will understand what makes them think u are inferior to them. And if u are wondering why it is that i am bringing in an unrelated topic, it is because i am hoping u will be able 2 use your head and fill in d blanks.
TV/MoviesRe: Most Handsome Nigerian Actors by maryray(f): 6:04am On Feb 09, 2008
Hotstepper, its like u are d only girl that has eyes, i mean no body seems to have noticed Nonso Diobi, eye mean, not only is d guy handsome tongue, he's a good actor. Put him in any movie, and he makes it watchable grin.[/color]. Also this clinton guy in wheel of life, the guy is sexy and men do i love a guy that has presense?.
CareerRe: Why Do Most Female Secretaries Sleep With Their Bosses? by maryray(f): 5:54am On Feb 09, 2008
See u guyz, this thing that is amusing to u guyz, is actually a serious issue. Some of this girls that u guyz describe as "unconfident, and greedy", not all of them are that way.  U see, first of all this is naija, finding a job is like breaking into aso rock when ABACHA was president, and when they are faced with sleeping with their boss, or losing their job and becoming a prostitute anyway, them might as well sleep with d boss.
U know what they say, people who have luck like d rest of us, and have parents that are well of, or not too bad off, they mock or blame others for their misfortune. Believe it or not honeys, people actually have to do worst things to survive. Be real, if u cant help, shut up lipsrsealed and dont make them feel worst than they are. U could help urself by changing d topic. Adieu.

Cant believe u guyz did not mention Fred Amata, and yet you mentioned Tony Umez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
TV/MoviesRe: Some Nigeria Movie Stars Profile by maryray(f): 7:44pm On Feb 06, 2008
Honestly Akolawole, (i believe this is d right spelling). U are so saying d truth. Africans are really intelligent mugus', U know those people that think the trash that people show outside is better than what they show in their country. U hear them say Hollywood is better than our movie industry and when u ask them why, they cant even give u a good reason. The thing is they insult their countinent and everything to do with it, because it is the "IN THING", and not becos they really think it is trash.

Hollywoood is full of fakeness, and people trying to show that they are better then others, and with the kind of thinking faculty we have, it is more than working. Personally i would rather watch Nollywood for relaxation, entertainment, good acting, and learning of the realities in this world, than some fake hollywood, or bollywood that shows the world ending and some men/women flying to d moon to save it, or is it the bollywood that even Ghanaian movies are better than.

Ghanaians, i'm not trying to say u guys movies are bad, i'm just saying that u are still upcoming. Nigerians do not down grade what u have becos it will only end up hurting u, bollywood are only able to sell their trash movies, where thay try to imitate hollywood and of course sing and dance all d way through, by portraying and thinking it is d best. (ie positively).

I don waka guys, take care of Urselves.

PoliticsRe: Why It May Take Eternity For Nigeria To Move Forward by maryray(f): 4:05am On Aug 20, 2007
u seem like a very thoughtful person. Honestly i didnt know people like u still exist but come to think of this we are also mumus. We travel to other people's countries we should unite with ourselves and also ignor, mock and challenge those other white people that give us problems, after all the countries that they are so proud of is not theirs. it is just countries that they went to becos earlier in europe they had nothing with everything being controlled by their so called "gentry's", so when they managed to leave their poverty starved country and some other people's prosperous ones, they went there and of course due t insecurity treat u like trash and make u think u are inferior to them. My dear they are making us prisoners of negative psychology. But as God 4 heaven live, they go topple break their head for other people's peace of mind and happiness that they have stolen. Yhis guys are PREDATORS.
