My first question is where do I get soil for the sacks... I mean how do I recognise the soil I need and where can I get it? Planted tomatoes during harmattan but they all died in February when it was supposed to start fruiting.... making me suspect the soil. Meanwhile, the peppers I planted at the same time are fruiting now and I have been harvesting them for home use, but I just noticed they look frail and no more fruiting. ..leaves are turning yellow and falling off. What could be the cause and how do I treat it?
The seeds were manufactured from my kitchen ,could that be the cause?

Helo pple pawpaw cant take 6 months, bt maybe 9 to 10 months, because i planted over 20 pawpaw as am typin dis. I only planted de short type(4goten de specie). I also hav "Red lady'' pawpaw seed . Carry out survey in de market now, u will see dat dia is no big nd healthy pawpaw in de market, y? because de last 3 months dia was no rain nd all de pawpaw even in my area shrink nd couldnt produce large fruits even does dat produce are nt healthy. So if u plant pawpaw get ready to water dem by dry season is profitable. Gracias amigos.

Helo, 2 months ago i read abt sack bag planting on dis forum nd i tried it, nd it worked. I even finish harvesting my last cuke dis evenin(personal consumption anyway) de species is Nagano f1 nd i hav planted anoda set, let me see if dis rain will affect de species, bt last month i planted anoda species(i guess is Murano f1) because i jst transplanted dem frm a cuke farm nd i guess it is murano f1 because it hav many stem frm de plant. Nd also ash could be good because if its numerous benefits. Pls try small nd make sure u protect dem frm lizard(if is in ur bakyard), because dey will eat up de blades. Gracias.

good pm sir, I got your pin but I'm not on bbm and I have been so busy with research and others pertaining to cucumber sack farming. I am 70 percent ready but will kick start if you can kindly enlighten me more on this questions I want to throw to the house.
1. is hand pollination compulsory, if it is, when can I do it and how do I do it
2. is it compulsory I first plant in a nursery before I tra sfer to the sack to avoid predators
3. when do I start spraying with pesticide and at wat interval should I spray the plants.
4. is it compulsory I treat the soil before planting and how do I treat is
5. I read it somewhere that adding ash is OK to the soil, so what is the usefulness of the ash and how important is it

7. can I use rice sack in place of cement sack cos I'm really finding it had to get it here

Lizards and squirrels are major culprit. I spray neem Oil immediately I noticed.

Squirrels also did terrible damages to my ugu seedlings. They uproot them and consume it. Now I treat all my ugu seeds with neem Oil and get 99.9% germination.

tnx, to u all, is lazard dats de culprit, i hv seen many around due to de flies dat come to petch de manure, so now i live at phc, wia can i get de Neem oil also in case of white fly nd virus how do i handle dem?. Advice.

The way I think you can solve your problem is to be at the farm (full-time if possible). If your weather is cold, it'll take between 5-14 days to germinate. You can scratch the surface a bit to see if they're there and if not, replant or plant watermelon (that's if you like)

Funny as it may sound, the likely culprit maybe lizard or frog but it may also be birds. For us here quail is the bird.
