NZEGWUAGU: It has nothing to do with the Igbos. It's like that every where even in America and the UK. In America there are states that are almost forgotten by others. In the UK the English see the Scots as inferior. The whites see black as animals. Israelites are despised. The Oyo man sees the Ijebu man as nonsense. The Igbo man sees aboki as a perpetual fool and aboki sees him as a thief and ritualist. The Igbo man sees the Yoruba man as a patholigical coward and traitor guess aboki believes that as well. The Yoruba man sees the Igbo man as dangerous and a liar. Even at family levels siblings disciminate one another depending on endowments perceived or real. Even in Ebonyi the Izza man sees the Ubulu man as subhuman. It goes on and on and it can never go away. I think humans use that as a source of distraction and a vent to live's frustrations and boredom! So please folks don't take it personally cos everyone is guilty of that one way or another! Strong post. |

I don't exactly agree with the Op. Those two states - Ebonyi and Abia, are not 'hated' by other Igbos(wonder where he got the idea). I've listened to songs that also praised the greatness of our brothers from both states.
Nobody is discriminating against those states. Don't forget that Ebonyi has produced some great Leaders in Igbo land, eg Akanu Ibiam. You can't rule out potentials of Abia state especially in the area of commerce and manufacturing. So many high-quality made-in-Aba products flood the markets.
Ebonyi may be said to be infrastructurally behind others, not necessarily because they are a backward people. Ebonyi is a relatively young state that was hitherto negleted by successive govts before being carved out from Enugu and Abia states. Also the governors of ebonyi state may share some of the blame for not being proactive. |

coache: Guys... I just finished creating a sophisticated time machine. It can go to the past and correct any error. So here's the plan......someone will go to the past and correct this amalgamation error for us......but I need a volunteer dat will go and represent us. So house........any volunteer? Anybody is qualified. YOU lead the way, afterall YOU invented it. But seriously, while the amalgamation may seem to be a mistake of epic proportions, a monumentally humongous catastrophe (pardon my french), I still see the hand of God in it. It was not a mistake. That Nigeria is a mess at 55 yrs (counting from indepedence), does not mean she will remain a mess forever. Nigeria is yet to be glorified. Though it seems impossible now with all the tribalism, corruption and stuff, in the end we'll be like, "all is well that ends well". Naija no go break up. I, for one wouldn't subscribe to one Nigeria. But now that we are in it, let's try and make it work. |

The Igbos are not wallowing in despair. We do not regret voting our prefered candidate. We stand by our decision. My brothers, God is up to something. Watch as events unfold.

stan241: I spoke on this issue on the other thread, the power and energy we use to fight for this Lagos which will always be yorubaland to me even though i grew up here would have been put to use to advocate/fight for a better south-east, are our ports functioning? What has happened to the oil in Abia and Imo? Where is our 2nd Niger bridge? The rice in Ebonyi how can we maximise it? Anambra and Enugu have the potential to be even better than Lagos but even those who live in Aba will still join mouth and call Lagos "no man's land"....Why do we still go ahead and build houses in our villages in the east if we feel Lagos does not belong to the yorubas or why do you think our fathers left for the east during the Abiola june 12 crisis? Over 23yrs being a resident of Lagos but will/ can never feel as comfortable as i do when i visit any part of the east because that to me is "home".....we should stop trying to re-write history and claiming what no matter how much we have contributed to its development will never be home....just my opinion though U make sense wella. |

It's what I keep telling us. Brother this thing tire me o. I no lie. We really should retrace our steps. Our beloved east is there. Nobody will develop it for us. Its up to us. Folks are looking for greener pasture elsewhere. Are the pastures in the east blue? Even if it were, its up to us to make it green. I don't doubt for one second that we have the capacity to achieve that, if only we can look inwards. I believe things will change, sooner than later, with or without our consent. Brothers, make we think twice. #EXPLORE SOUTH EAST |
Politics › Re: ‘enough Of Igbo Disruption In Lagos’ - Yorubas Outside Nigeria Speak by Masterclass32: 1:05pm On Apr 11, 2015 |
Achilies: I think the only thing keeping nigeria together is the hatred all the tribes in nigeria have towards we igbos....
One mistake people tend to make towards we igbos, is believing they can intimidate us in anyway whatsoever. The more you try, the stronger we become....
No igbo man is claiming Lagos as his state of origin rather we see Lagos as a place where anyone can come, work hard and succeed. And if some people have issues with that then
Lagos was not developed by the Yorubas alone or its governments. It is a known facts that igbos invested more in Lagos than any other tribe including yorubas.
Why do people hating the igbos so?
Is it our fault that we succeeded were you tried and failed??
Why is our self confidence a source of worry for other tribes?
To my brothers when are we going to learn? How long do we keep leaving in denial? When will it down on us that we are not loved in this country and will never be no matter what We do?
When will it occur to us that no matter how much we invest in other regions and contribute to their development we will never be one with them? And they will never love us as we loved them? WHEN DO WE REALISE THAT ONE NIGERIA IS JUST AN ILLUSION?
WHEN ARE WE GOING TO INVEST AT LEAST 50% OF OUR WEALTH IN IGBO LAND?
Having three or more companies or houses in Lagos and having just one or none in SE Is not really helping us.
We need to start investing more in our region and the sooner we forget this one nigeria nonsense the better for us as a nation. Salient points. Let's remember we have a place we call home. Invest in the east. Cause no matter how long you live and invest in another man's land you will forever be a foreigner. Certain previlages will allude always you. Make no mistake about it: Lagos is NOT our land. The earlier this fact sinks in the better for us all. |
