IMO, i think parents should be held accountable because the bible says : "train up a child in the way he should go and when he's grown, he would not depart from it"...

I personally believe in values, instilled value are very difficult to erase, even when an adult child intend to derail, values will always bring them back.

NB.
Most times parents ignorantly raise children in wrong ways to the detriment of their ward, ( even some pastors) and it mostly comes out strong when they (the wards) start approaching adulthood. Descipline and love should be give in right proportion when raising children.

Just take a look at this generation, the decay is so disgusting, I'm a proud product of wat u stated; infact my mum was really strict on me cos I was so head strong but whenever I look back I bless her soul for the upbringing, in my tribute to her during her funeral, I promised to raise my kids with same values I was raised.

True story of a Nigerian family in my neighborhood.

Case scenario: A mother hits her 15 y/o child and she tackles her down to the floor like a heavy-weight champion. Daddy intervenes and beats the crap out of the 15 y/o daughter.

Daughter calls police and have parents arrested. Father is charged with child-battery and BANNED from coming to the house till the daughter leaves the house at 18 years old.

Fast forward: Daughter is now 20 years old and lives alone with no contact with her parents. When she graduated from high school, her parents did not attend! They practically disowned her and gave her to the state to take care of.

This is so heartbreaking, that girl owes her parents great apology and forgiveness, hence it will haunt her for life especially when she starts having children of her own. That aspect of parenting is what i detest about western culture

Well, it will be very difficult because like you said, she was with her for 18yrs. That's a long time to form an unbreakable bond, that's why she can't detach her self easily from her.

I'll advise you relocate to a place they'll not be able to access your house easily. That's the only thing I think can put a stop to all these.

OP, if you want a final and lasting solution, follow this advice and when you do that, do not let them know about the relocation and the location, at best give flimsy excuses to cover up. Life is wisdom.

This is very irritating; every time i see "jeep" added to the name of every other car brand. Its like saying "gucci prada" .
