Alfred234: But let's be honest Xiaomi no dey try for Redmi Note 8 They just abandoned the phone, even Redmi Note 7 has gotten Android 10 so i quite understand the pain of Redmi Note 8 users. I know the update will eventually come but waiting can be tiring sometimes. I'm very sure there's a good reason that Gingko haven't received that update. If they send out an update today and it destroys just 1% of the device globally, these same people clamoring for the update will be the one shouting "Crucify them, crucify them". Like someone said up there, that's the difference between stable updates and developer Rom updates. I don't believe that any of the devices have been neglected. |

Alfabest07: I'm on android 9 but I'm sure there's a lot of difference that with android 10. You might not haved noted because you use less of the phone If you're both on the same Miui version, trust me, you'll hardly see the differences. |

NB: I charged to 100% yesterday around 6pm. No heavy usage and no gaming. 10:31am this morning, have got just 34% left Sincerely, I think the battery is doing just fine considering the conditions. You've obviously used power hungry apps (Instagram and Facebook), it doesn't necessarily have to be gaming. Can you also post your SOT? |

yak: don't mind my yeye question hope the phones with mtk will continue to get normal OTA support All things being equal, yeah. In fact, Redmi is trying so hard to promote their recent mtk powered devices as we have seen with Note 8 pro so I believe such devices will get support as long as possible. |

Idrismusty97: Been using even a lesser version of Mediatek (Infinix) for 3+ years now, I don't mind upgrading to another Mediatek that is even presumed to be far better. I don't know why you people are scared of Mediatek. You see, that's why I typed "If left to me". The fact that you were able to cope/manage a device running mediatek (Infinix for that matter) for more than 3 years does not mean every other person can afford to go through that "punishment" because that's exactly how I see it. It's not a matter of being scared, it's a matter of choice. There's no way I can get the level of freedom I have using snapdragon devices on mediatek ones. As a matter of fact, within the first few hours of unboxing my latest device, I applied for bootloader unlocking and got it unlocked after 7 days and within an hour of unlocking, you can't begin to imagine the wonders I preformed with the phone. This, I wouldn't dare to try if it were a mediatek device. Finally, check the attached picture from the official website of Xiaomi.eu; this is one of the many reasons I will always choose snapdragon over mediatek(Xiaomi) over any Transsion device.

ItzEminence: I need suggestion on which Redmi phone to buy between the Redmi Note 9, 3/64 RAM and ROM or Redmi Note 8 4/64 RAM and ROM. really need urgent reply on this, planned getting the phone today or tomorrow. Budget 70-75k If left to me, I'll go with the note 8 4/64. Snapdragon + bigger memory (not that the mediatek chip won't hold it's ground o but as for me, it's a no-go area) |

Alfabest07: 1-4 months probably because of lockdown, normally, no shipping via Aliexpress standard shipping ever passed a month, e no dey reach sef. This is not totally true bro unless you're speaking on your own personal experience alone. It all depends on the season, a lot can go wrong/affect the logistics. Yeah, we've had orders that took just 1 -2 weeks you arrive and others which took well over a month or 2 as well. |

Create a mi account 8. Install your apps and use your phone like every other pjone you have used before. Maybe we should pin this to the first page/compilation thread as well |

Adunny07: Please quick question...if I keep seeing update and I don't update my phone will it affect the phone? why I haven't updated yet is because I don't knw how it works and all that. Although ignoring the phone won't affect the functionality of the phone but it's more advisable to update and you keep learning how it works as the device gets optimized |

Is it that people don't read warnings or they are just adamant about heeding to warnings? I just don't understand why someone will still go ahead about posting ads on this thread and any other wrong place after seeing the warning boldly written in red.
We go dey alright las las
